Yes this is a bar, which some find negative, but the atmosphere and food here is amazing! You can always order to go and I highly suggest you order from here! Wonderful local couple that runs the entire place who are kind and quick to help with anything. Prices are decent , which is a good thing these days. This spot is exactly what you expect - a side-of-the-road, mountain bar and pizza shop. I would guess it hasn't changed at all in the last two decades. The restaurant/bar is one room, cool old space. Good service, very kind and friendly! The wings are some of the best in town - we had the old bay and the Buffalo. Vegetarian options are very limited but the bottleneck fries and onion rings were delicious. Veggie pizza wasn't my favorite, but I thought the crust was good. When I go to Harper's Ferry/ Shannondale to visit my best friend. I just have to come here. That good ol' mountain watering hole with GREAT FOOD, cold drinks, and an owner that works tirelessly. PLEASE ASK ABOUT HER SPECIALTY PIZZA'S. She custom made us a bacon cheeseburger pizza with a side of mac sauce yesterday that was to die for on a homemade thin crispy crust. Very Disappointed!!! Poor Customer Service!!! If I could give negative stars I would. It's surprising to experience this kind of customer service at a small place like Torlone's. I placed an inquiry through Torlone's Facebook page regarding an upcoming event. Fairly simple questions - Cover charge? Can we reserve a table? No response for 48 hours. Finally got a response. $5 was the response I received. No other information given. I asked about reserving a table once again. 24 hours later I received "No". The owner responded by telling me she had better things to do than respond to inquiries. The owner definitely has an attitude and should not be responsible for maintaining the social media account. Are you understaffed, overworked or just plain miserable? Just think of how much business you would have if you actually responded to customer inquiries. Many years ago I visited this establishment frequently and always had a great time. I guess nothing lasts forever. And on a final note, one of the best things about learning how to give great customer service is that these skills are transferable to every other area of your life. Problem was my 3 toppings were so sparse that I thought they forgot and gave me a cheese pizza. I found a total of 5 Pepperoni's on a medium pizza. Every topping was jarred, the dough did taste fresh. I wouldn't order again. Finally - was full of smoke. This is probably more like a 3.5. We live on the mountain and it is definitely the best pizza we can get around here. Beats the chains no contest. Ingredients taste fresh and cheese is pretty good quality, nice and melty and stringy and a little but not too oily. Price is also fantastic for the size. Really I was surprised such a cheap pizza was so good. I only wish the crust were a bit thicker or more baked so that the pizza doesn't "limp" so much. You really can't hold up a slice without it falling all over. So, sturdiness... Only other gripe: OMG, refinish your bartop already. It's revoltingly sticky. I know it isn't technically dirty, but the psychological effect of sticky in a restaurant... Eww. Just do it! And just for those who aren't reading too far down: Yes, you can smoke in here. We stopped in for pizza with my parents while they were visiting. Not very big inside, and a bit smoky but we decided to stick it out and try the pizza. Our waitress was super nice and when my son lost a quarter in the gum ball machine, they gave us several more until it finally worked. Just nice folks.
