Lively place! Holy cow!!! Love the barnwood/backwoods decor and hole-in-the-wall ambience. No bar seating and first come first serve for tables, but waitstaff is prompt and friendly! This will definitely be a recurring stop on route to my hometown in Quincy, IL. Several cocktail options for under $7! I went with the Bomb Pop and I can't wait to recreate this at home. Tasty and colorful! They also have many beer and seltzers options. They also have GF buns so I was able to try the Copycat burger with bleu cheese! They claim to be famous for their burgers. For the price of $12-15, they include a side of your choice and several toppings on their specialty burgers! You can downgrade to 1/4 lb patty for $2 less!!! Burger came fast and was very tasty! They even have jalapeño ketchup on the tables. YES!!!

Went here today for lunch and had the F-2 burger and fries. Also had a couple of beers. The service was great, they have plenty of tv's showing the football games. There's lots of memorabilia all around. It wasn't packed, but it was pretty loud inside there. My only gripe is the burger needed more seasoning. Also being from Atlanta there's a signed Tim Dwight Atlanta falcons jersey on the wall. I would definitely come back!!!

    F3 Both

I met a couple of buddies at Tornados Grub & Pub (1600 3rd St SE 319-364-9378) Thursday (Jan 15) for slightly early lunch. I requested a Fabulous F3 Both ($15.00) with a salad (+$1.00) for a premium side with Ranch and Blue Cheese dressing. I had lemon water ($0.00) to drink. The food came out surprisingly fast. I got out my knife and fork and went at it! Abby was our server. My bill total was $17.12 including tax. My food was delicious!!! I left very satisfied!!! VERY HIGHLY recommended!!! I will definitely return!!!

We stopped in to find super cool atmosphere and decor! Our waitress Paige was absolutely amazing! She was very attentive even though she was busy. My fiancé ordered the Tornado double cheese cheeseburger with fries and I ordered the crispy chicken salad with homage ranch. For cocktails we had a starburst and a cucumber cooler. The food and drinks were absolutely beyond amazing!!! Tornados is a MUST if you're in Cedar Rapids!

Service was great. Staff was very friendly. Definitely a neat little pub. Our first time here before heading to Florida in the morning.

From the outside curb appeal, we would likely have just driven by this place, but since moving back to CR in August of 2023, we have heard a great deal about the food served here so before the end of the year craziness decided to give lunch a try. I went for their "CopyCat" burger and my wife did a BYOB - this alone shocked me as my wife usually goes for chicken, or a veggie burger, or even the grilled pork loin, but she said she heard a lot of good things about their burgers so wanted to be adventurous. In 26 years of marriage I think I can remember 2 or 3 times she commented on "LOVING" a burger she tried... Not really at Red Robin, no fast food joints of course, NOT EVEN AT THE WONDERFUL Burger Fiend here in town (Yes she is THAT PICKY). BUT she finished her entire 1/2 pound burger - she said the Sweet Potato fries were "So/So" and she will try a different side next time as they are a little thing and too much on the crisp side for her liking. Regarding the CopyCat burger... this is a burger for Cedar Rapids and Burger Aficionados from back in the day. There was a little but wonderful "hole in the wall" place called the Cork N' Fork that had a Bacon & Blue Burger that was a 1/3 LB pattie with lettuce tomato and Blue Cheese Dressing. The CC Burger is an homage to this wonderful experience... but honestly... takes it to a better and more wonderful level by adding more Blue Cheese with the Crumbles and if memory serves, leveling up the thickness and quality of the bacon being used. That is one thing that I truly enjoyed here, is that everything seemed to be of the highest quality - even though this is "JUST" a pub and grub style joint. Service was friendly and quick, and they really can fit a lot of people in the place WITHOUT over-stuffing. If there is any draw back I will warn you is the shortage of waiting space.

So the staff is attentive and pleasant. I had a craft root beer (Barn Town Brewery from West Des Moines), that was really good as root beers go. We had appetizer Nachos, which were on Taco flavored Doritos. Nachos were solid but a little light on the beef and cheese sauce for my taste. The Soup, Salad and Breadstick was good and a perfect size for a smaller appetite. My friend had a Midwest BBQ Smash Burger without the bun, he would order it again. I had the Hangover Smash and it was a great bacon cheeseburger - add peanut butter (sounds weird but it was great), an egg, some bacon and smashed tater tots and life is good, with or without the hangover. The Irish decor is a nice touch as this was an Irish pub once upon a time. We enjoyed our meal and we will return, I loved the smash burgers.

Our server greeted us as soon as we walked in and was friendly enough. The food left MUCH to be desired. We ordered a bowl of wild rice soup with a side of the beer battered fries, the Italian sandwich with fries and the fish and chips. Instead of a bowl, a cup came out, which isn't a huge deal and is an easy fix. The soup was extra thick and wasn't heated all the way through. Almost cold in the middle. The Italian sandwich was ok, it contained all of the ingredients listed on the menu, and it was on bread about the size of a hot dog bun. The fish and chips, for $19, was probably the most disappointing. The fish was cooked well and tasted good, but both pieces together was about the same size as one of Gorton's battered fish filets. Given that there were only 3 occupied tables the whole time we were there, I expected more from the kitchen, especially given the price. I give it 2 stars instead of 1 for the server doing her job, and the fries were good. If I go back, it'll be for drinks, definitely not the sub-mediocre food. Note: The photo- Split, so it's on a smaller plate. Notice the size of the piece of fish. This was the size of both pieces. I wish I could say it was an oversized fork.

We were here for lunch on a weekday, so my experience is going to be very different from a lot of other reviews. Loved loved loved our server! She was the sweetest and very friendly. She was prompt with our requests and did everything possible to go above and beyond. The decor was cute with the indoor lighting. I love how Marion is now getting all these businesses who want to provide a good experience to the customer. If they can expand their vegetarian menu, I'd go back.

The cook didn't seem to notice when preparing it? SMH. We told the waitress about it, she took it to the manager. The waitress came back and said the manager didn't seem concerned about it. The manager never came to talk to us, didn't offer an apology and didn't offer to take any money off of our bill. The waitress seemed embarrassed and took it upon herself to take 75% off the price of the quesadilla. We were so grossed out that we will not be going back there again.
