Toro Park Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Salinas, California

I have been using Toro Park Nails for a year and a half. I am finally giving up on them. They are convenient as I live just down the street. They had a gal that I loved, Sam, who did my nails beautifully, but she left about 6 months ago. Since then I have had appointments with every manicurist there. At first I went to a lady that didn't do gel or acrylic, my nails broke and chipped. Then I went to the guy, Andrew and he barely pays attention, but he does do acrylic. Chip, break & pop off. Went to Sandy, chip, break, pop off. Granted they do repairs for free. Went to Lisa and she is the best of them, but while hers last more than a week, & she's artistic, they pop off as well. The straw that broke the Camels back was the unexpected funeral I had to attend in Texas. I knew I was flying on the 2nd, TPN was not open on the 31st or 1st, so on Monday I dropped in to get a fill and nail color change. I got Andrew, all it needs to last is until Friday the 3rd in the afternoon. The morning of the funeral I took a shower, and noticed that a nail had popped off and another had chipped. So I am scurrying around trying to find a nail place, as I am not going to be shaking people's hands with crap nails in Texas. If you are ever in Waco, Texas, give Posh nails a try. They got me in right away, and the premises were beautiful. Lesley was fantastic. It reminded me what a good manicure is. She's checking to make sure the nails are all the same length and involuntarily gasps, oh no, shakes her head and grinds my nail down. I have been doing a lot of house cleaning, using chemicals, scrubbing pots etc, My nails look as good as the day they were done. I have to find someplace else. read more

Brand new with great color selection, new massage chairs that really work well and friendly English speaking staff. Very nice management and very considerate. I made an appointment at 5 on a week day. I was seated in 5 minutes. I always make appointments to make sure I don't have Random wait times. Price was $45 for regular spa mani pedi. New place, very clean. Staff was friendly and professional, and fast. Was able to get a pedicure and my acrylics filled at the same time. I walked in right as they opened and was out I less than an hour. Will definitely be going back, and although pricier than some places around Salinas, it is totally worth it. read more

My go to nail place! I got my first set of acrylics here and go every few weeks for a fill, my nails always look natural and clean. The customer service is great, Andrew or Sandy usually do my nails and they both know exactly how I like them. I do recommend scheduling an appointment at least a few hours before, this place gets very busy. Best salon in the Salinas area! read more

Two stars because my pedicure was well done but -3 because the service was horrible. I've never felt so uncomfortable like I did today. I went in and asked Sandy (the lady doing my pedicure) if I could have acrylic on my toes to achieve a more square shape. She seemed a bit confused so she asked Linda for more direction. Linda then came up to me and in a bad attitude began telling me she doesn't think it is a good idea but does not state whether or not they can provide the service I requested. Sandy tells me she will use mail tips and acrylic on my shorter toenails to make them even to the ones that will not need nail tips. She ended up only putting nail tips on 8 of my toes. She proceeds to lay the acrylic in my toes and when it is time to drill and file them she seems a little lost. She calls Linda and Linda comes over and SNATCHES the drill out of her hands and begins saying things in a rude tone to her. She also very rudely asked me if I wanted my toe nails that long to which I answered no. She was silent the rest of my pedicure and I could tell she was in a bad mood. Andrew was working on my friends toes right next to me and he tried to make conversation and include me in theirs since Linda did not. Before she began painting my toes Linda once again told me I should not get acrylic on my toes again because I will have to get a fill on every toe next time I come back. When it was time to pay I could tell she did not even want to help me so Andrew helped me pay. Although the pedicure looks okay I will never be coming back somewhere where the workers are so rude. read more

First visit to Toro Park Nails-I walked in on a Monday evening for a plain vanilla manicure at 5:35PM. They close at 7:00PM. They told me they were "booked up." Really? It didn't look like it was booked up. Such a shame, I live nearby and could have been a regular. read more

They were very good in the sense that they paid close attention to detail when doing my nails and I was done in a significantly good amount of time... I just wish for this visit's sake that they WOULD have slowed down... because they made me bleed two different times and I was in no rush whatsoever. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First I must say I tried this place after reading all the wonderful reviews about them. When I got off from work I called them and asked them if they had time to do my gel pedicure and acrylic nails, I told them I was about 30 minutes away. They politely said they had time but not for an hour to come in at 5:45 which is only an hour and 15 minutes before they close. I get there and they seat me in the pedicure chair immediately. The lady doing my toes did not soak my gel polish off with acetone but instead proceeded to file off the police which was very painful and took a lot longer. The lady started doing my nails at around 6:30 and rushed her entire way through it seeings how they closed in less than 30 minutes. Needless to say my nails looked horrible and came off less than a week later. Can't believe I wasted over $100 on my nails and toes for them to not even last a week. read more

I called the day before and was able to get the first appointment the next day. Not super friendly on the phone but my nail tech made up for that in spades! Salon is super clean and organized. I got a fill done in 45min and they look great. Prices are more than what I am use to. I normally pay twenty-five in Monterey but here it was $33 before tip!! read more

Been back a few times and have gotten different people... Who have done a really BAD job. Nails cut crooked, polish not covering the whole nails, gel way too thick so it peels quickly... So I guess it's hit or miss. read more

I have gone to this salon several times and always enjoyed my experience BUT I will never go back after today! Soooo disappointed! I will say the place is clean and they appear to disinfect everything but that isn't always enough! I had a gel manicure done on Monday, and as I was having it done the dark gel color I was having applied (by Andrew) was warping and shrinking. He had a hard time painting my nails with the color, but managed to make it work. The very next day my polish bubbled and lifted. I called and went back (3 days later) to have them redone. Linda was the lady who I was dealing with when I arrived. I mentioned that I wanted to have my nails repainted with another color and not the same color I had, had a bad experience with. She then said that if I wanted a polish change I would have to pay $20 to do it. I told her that I didn't think that was right considering the fact the polish was the problem, and I had just paid $30 for my gel manicure 3 days ago. She was rude and told me to either pay the $20 or repaint with the same defective color at no charge. She continued being disrespectful to me and was becoming hostile toward me. She then began speaking Vietnamese to Andrew complaining about me...in front of me. I told her she was being disrespectful by complaining to him about me in Vietnamese (in front of me). Andrew just told me to not worry and forget about it. He took care of repainting my nails with another brand but rushed through my repaint and never backed me up. It was uncomfortable (literally he was harsh on my nail bed) the entire time he painted my nails and the tension was thick. I explained to him that as a several times returning customer, I would have hoped for better treatment and experience but he said nothing. As I was leaving, I told Andrew that I would pay for the repaint or at a minimum a tip, but he told me not to worry about it. I then told him that I was disappointed by the disrespect from Linda (she then stood up aggressively walked over to Andrew began speaking Vietnamese loudly and was again talking smack about me in front of me). I then said, "see it's because of her behavior and treatment toward me which is unnecessary and unprofessional, that I wont be returning here." He tried to cut me off and just told me to not worry about and said I was the boss and if I didn't want to return that was my problem. I then told him how disappointed I was agreed that I was the boss, and then left. I was never rude to them, never raised my voice, and to be treated in this manner was just appalling!
