OMG! Eaten here forever. Tonight order take out and found a dirty band-aid in our soup. After eating half of it!!! Call them and they deny it. I have been ordering. Here for years never ever had a problem. Now off to the doctor to have to be check for blood born pathogens! Absolutely horrific!! Will never eat here again! Going to the health department. As well. Beware!!

In the past I have ordered out from this restaurant and this time was the first time indoor dining which was a very positive experience. I enjoyed my platter which was tuna which consisted of sashimi, rolls and tuna on a bed of rice. The Tuna was fresh definitely a party in my mouth so delicious. It was complemented with a dry bottle of sake which was just lovely bringing out the taste of the tuna. The dish came with basic salad that was just fine The service was quite nice a very nice environment to dine with family.

Red Dragon Roll, Dancing Roll, Kenny Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll Some of the freshest sushi I've had in a bit.

We went early to eat here and were happy with the quality of the fish it was fresh and tasted great. The reception or hostess lacked serious customer service and basically snarled as we walked in. The waitress we had was very attentive and got our food to us quickly. All of the sushi we tried was great very fresh and good flavor. We sat right near the sushi bar that had over four men preparing fresh sushi and it was fun to see. The decor is a bit run down and the lighting is a bit dim for the restaurant. They offer hibachi upstairs which we didn't try and hot food is offered as well. We will Be back. Ext time or may just try it all via take out. Seems to be a converted house that u Is now used as a restaurant. Parking is limited but available all around property They do take credit cards

The Crab Rangoon (in the background) was amazing and the sushi platter is something that I would get again and again!

So I just wanted to say how amazing the food is at this restaurant! WE've alway done takeout out orders and always would get the Thai food. One evening, my best friend and I decided to go out to dinner at the restaurant. It was our first time, so we are trying to find the front door, lol. We went in and were led to our tables. The servers were pretty good and the food was amazing! I tried the sushi and wow, I would totally come back for the sushi! But as my best friend and I were eating, I noticed a few servers and host (Who weren't busy) were just standing around and talking near by our table. And we could hear their casual conversation. It's great to chat with your coworkers, but I just felt uncomfortable having them near by just standing around doing nothing. They honestly shouldn't be just standing around chatting near the guests that they are serving, but should take their chatting to the back or in the kitchen (That's what we do at the kitchen I work at a senior home). So that's pretty much the only thing that bugs me and I would totally come back...Sushi but maybe just stick to take out order for a little while. Otherwise than that, food is amazing and I just wanted to post up a picture of the sushi that I ate.

it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the steak and shrimp combo, and both were cooked to perfection. The steak was tender and juicy, and the shrimp had a wonderful flavor that was enhanced by the garlic butter. The fried rice was some of the best I've had, with just the right amount of seasoning. Even the veggies, often an afterthought at other places, were fresh and flavorful. The portions were generous, and I left feeling completely satisfied. The service was also top-notch--our server was attentive and made sure our drinks were always full, and the chef was happy to accommodate a few special requests.

    Do they have outdoor seating?

I think I would only do the take out option. The food is fantastic, and they deliver. The last time we went there for in person dining it sucked. The sever was terrible, never came over to check on us . It was very hard to get her attention.…

Off the beaten path, into the beautiful hills and woods, is this town of Heritage Village I'll have to further explore someday. For now, it's All You Can Eat for $32! Lucky me!! The service was out of control great, especially considering how busy the restaurant is. The whiteboard menu and marker checklist is so smart and fun a concept. It invites gluttony and that's refreshing in these pricey days of eating out. You also feel free to explore menu items you might not if Ala carte pricing. I was also astatic to see plentiful wasabi and ginger on my plate. I've usually experienced cutbacks on these items with AYCE or BOGO deals. The clincher in my love for this place was being asked if I wanted the menu again for more. Lucky me

The ambiance is darker but clean They take credit card and you will be charged if you are wasteful with food When we think all you can eat sushi we are there for the fish the hot food is just a bonus so we won't be back.

AMBIANCE - on the nicer side with the booths being U Shaped and comfortable seating for sure. The color scheme was on the red side. Hence the name I guess LOL. There were quite a few tables with a sushi bar work station straight to the back I also noticed a full bar to the right of where you walk in. Not a plethora of seating but when crowded you could eat at the bar I suspect MENU - definitely fusion with a bit more Japanese options than Chinese. They offer various appetizers and for sushi a lot of individual selections from a full dinner or pick your own pieces or rolls. For lunch they have a nice 3 rolls of your choice for $16 which is a good deal. FOOD - I tried a tuna dumpling that I have to say was unique and excellent. Ive been there for dinner time as well, it's lively, loud in a good way, and immediately feels like somewhere you could stay for hours. I ordered the miso ramen, and it was honestly one of the most satisfying bowls of ramen I've had in Connecticut. The broth was the star of the dish its deep, rich, savory, and layered with that perfect balance of umami and subtle sweetness from the miso and a bit nitty form the sesame seeds. The noodles had the perfect texture: chewy, springy, and able to hold onto the broth beautifully. Nothing was overcooked or mushy . What impressed me most was how balanced the ramen was. Some ramen spots go overboard with salt or spice, but this bowl felt refined. Rich but not greasy. Flavorful but not overpowering. You could tell there was actual technique behind it. The portion size was also generous enough to leave completely full without feeling uncomfortable afterward. The service matched the food perfectly and so freaking sweet. The best dish was the soothing yuzu salmon over rice entree, while the chicken wings, crab fried rice, snd tofu pockets were all a little junky and overly dressed. We were so hopeful, as the Yelp ratings were competitive; other patrons were there dining when we arrived; and several people came for takeout orders. We ordered chives pork dumplings and Tan Tan Ramen. All standard fare. Both were completely inedible. The filling for the chive pork dumplings looked undercooked; the appetizer was presented in a haphazard fashion; the dipping sauce lacked flavor; and the dumplings themselves were fried on one side and soggy and undercooked on the other. We managed a nibble. The Tan Tan Ramen was even worse. (They must buy stock photographs online to represent their dishes. The Tan Tan Ramen in person looks nothing like the pictures online.) The "broth" was completely insipid, with no depth of flavor. It was actually watery, and my lunch company described it as "tomato sauce diluted with water." We were shocked at how bad it was. It's a very small shop, and it was uncomfortable because the workers were essentially watching us as we ate. We do not like to hurt people's feelings, and so we got everything to go. After we left, we threw everything away and were left with a metallic, awful aftertaste from having tried some of the Tan Tan Ramen and sharp stomach pains from what we suspect were the pork dumplings. Part of the issue may be that this is a kind of Pan-Asian or Asian-fusion place. It seemed more Chinese than anything else. Maybe the Chines dishes are good. The Ramen should be taken off the menu immediately. They have "ramen" and "dumpling" in their name, suggesting that they have mastered these two dishes. They most certainly have not. Avoid. This. Place. (Also, just drive to New Haven's The Loop and compare.)

This is the authentic, incredibly fresh sushi you crave, and fair warning: you will become addicted. We are so lucky to have a gem like Amai in Brookfield. Amber and Jerry are wonderful people who genuinely care about their customers, the quality of the food, and the experience they provide. If you're looking for quick, fast-food-style sushi, this isn't that and that's exactly the point. It's like comparing a McDonald's cheeseburger to a steakhouse burger. Sure, one may be faster and cheaper, and technically they're both burgers, but the quality and experience aren't comparable. Anyone who compares the two is insane. At Amai, the attention to detail makes all the difference. The fish is incredibly fresh and cut to order rather than prepped in batches in the back, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Once you've had sushi this way, it's hard to go back and settle for anything else. My husband and I are addicts.
