Love the milk teas! The standout here is definitely the tapioca jelly though, it's just as satisfying as getting boba in your drink but it's not as heavy and you get more brown sugar flavor. My go to is the Misty Oolong milk tea, it's fairly light but still creamy so it pairs well with the jelly. The popcorn milk tea isn't something I would gravitate towards ordering often, but it's definitely a unique drink that's worth trying if it's your first time! Reminds me of the Korean snack Jollypong, it has a similar kind of lightly sweet, caramelized/roasted grain type of flavor. Not a huge fan of the Yelp waitlist system (join on your way or wait in your car), but if you go when it's not as busy then you just order as normal . I wanted to check out Torotea to see what all the hype was about since everyone seems to be raving about their tea. Expect to wait for about an hour or more for your drinks. Please note that you'll need to check in and enter a virtual queue. You'll enter your name, contact information, and the number of people in your party. There is currently an order limit of two drinks per person. My boyfriend and I were informed that the wait would take about 30-40 minutes, but we actually had to wait for an hour since there was a mistake with the virtual queue not updating, and people were being let in ahead of us. We ordered the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi, barley tea with black tea tapioca mochi, koan-im oolong milk tea, and cassia milk tea with barley jelly. All drinks were ordered at perfect ice and perfect sweetness levels. I was only able to try the popcorn milk tea and barley tea since the other drinks were for my boyfriend's family. The popcorn milk tea really does taste like popcorn; it had a roasted caramel flavor. The barley tea had a more subtle sweetness to it and was really refreshing. I was surprised at the texture of the mochi since the texture is more like a jelly and not like the drinkable white mochi that is served at other boba shops. Another welcome addition to the many boba tea spots in the Rowland-Diamond Bar area, but with a twist! I think Torotea & Odd One Out are the only two places I've tried that have a more firm, bouncy jelly topping instead of boba or the traditional grass jelly-like texture. I got the popcorn milk tea with the black tea mochi and the same drink at a different time with the brown sugar mochi, and I'd recommend them both! The milk tea itself is reminiscent of kettle corn, with a light roasted corn taste and a good tea to milk and sugar ratio. I also appreciate that they provide samples of one of their teas as well as go easy on the ice! The "perfect" sweetness was just right for me, not too sweet or bland. The people working at Torotea are also so nice and helpful, and the shop is aesthetically pleasing. Has been a regular here and was so disappointed in their services and " policy " . I put on my name on their Yelp waitlist and it show me as estimated time that I will be served . But maybe some group in front of me didn't show up and suddenly my turn come faster then expected and I am still otw there . Unique! The popcorn milk tea is so different and interesting. Is it buttery, is it nutty? The question we get when we bring our friends and family to try this drink. I had the jasmine oolong milk tea and got the misty oolong milk tea for the next day. Hubby got the popcorn milk tea and koan-im oolong milk tea. The jasmine oolong milk tea had a mild flavor and I couldn't really taste the jasmine. The misty oolong milk tea was more flavorful so I preferred it over the jasmine oolong milk tea. Hubby liked both his drinks and also had brown sugar tapiochi chewies in his drinks. I usually have my milk tea with 0% sugar and no toppings because I don't like the added sugar. However, I enjoyed the texture of the chewies so if I came back I'd try one of the tea chewies. read more

Torotea is a tea place. They're located in a strip mall on Diamond Bar Blvd in between Topco Insurance and Nini Bakery. There's some businesses on this strip mall that don't last very long and end up constantly changing to new establishments. Hopefully this one will last. They have a variety of tea drinks including their own signature creations, milk teas, pure teas, and tea mocktails. They don't have boba but rather tapioca mochi which makes it unique from other tea places that normally serve boba. Other toppings they offer include jellies and cloud tops. They have signs on the counter stating that weekends are limited to 1 drink per person and weekdays are limited 2 drinks per person. I ordered the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi. This was excellent. The drink tasted sweet, milky, creamy, with a salty and buttery flavor reminiscent of popcorn. The tapioca mochi had a soft jelly-like consistency and the brown sugar flavor was perfect. Service was pretty good. Was greeted upon entry. I was behind one person in line and then the cashier took my order. I was asked if I wanted their recommended sweetness and ice level to which I said yes. The drink arrived within a few minutes. We came today in the afternoon (this was right after their grand opening weekend). There was a lot of parking available. The interior is very much minimalistic with a zen spa kind of flair. BELIEVE THE HYPE. Honestly thought this was gonna be similar to Hoji Tea Community or one of those seemingly high end looking boba places like OMOMO etc where it's just attracting normie Asian Americans who have basic taste, but I AM HAPPILY SURPRISED. My friend and I came here during their soft opening, literally the day before their grand opening and they were already pretty busy. All seats taken inside, people standing and waiting inside and outside, but it didn't take too long for our drinks to come out, definitely around the range of 15-20 minutes and the workers were nice enough to call your name outside. At the time we went, the self order kiosk was down, probably due to the volume of orders. The plaza itself has a steep drive way in and a bit limited in parking, especially with so many businesses there, so keep this in mind. They had their Manor Milk tea. The sample was so delicious that my friend immediately got her own. I was really tempted too, but me being a sucker for new places and fancy drinks, ordered 2 different drinks...for myself...which were promptly finished in the same day. LOL. Truly a testament to how yummy their drinks are. I got the: 1) Crème brûlée Ice Milk with Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi: -SWEET YUMMY TREAT DRINK. I inhaled this easily. -I'd definitely get this again too. -They have brown sugar tapioca mochi. It's not really mochi as you'd expect it in a boba drink (think the Alley and Cha Redefine mochi drinks). Instead they're more slightly grainy jellies. A bit like a coffee jelly but brown sugar flavor. -The milk tea was nicely sweet and creamy with their sweet toasted creme brulee cloud on top. The caramelized crispy parts on top were super yummy. 2) Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea: -It's a dark roasted oolong milk tea with some floral and nutty notes to it. -Solid oolong milk tea. Nice and smooth. We got all of our drinks at their recommended sweetness (something I almost never do), but they know what they're doing here. None of the drinks are scathingly sweet (aka the good ol' not to sweet for the Asian palate) and even with this, the drinks were full of flavor. Diamond Bar finally has a quality tea shop! Torotea is not only the most aesthetically pleasing tea shop, but they make some darn good quality tea as well! All their drinks are tea focused so you can taste the quality of the tea, and they specialize in tea jellies and tapioca mochi which adds a subtle sweetness that paired amazingly with each drink. I have visited Toro twice and have not been disappointed in any of their drinks. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu! Bonus points! When I found out this shop was also named after a holland lop bunny I knew I had to come asap! As a bunny lover I just love this little lesser known fact. Also, the staff here and owner Amery are the sweetest people. They gave out free samples of their jellies and tea when I visited and really make sure their customers are enjoying their drinks. The wait wasn't all too bad and the workers here were nice at explaining and showing us the samples of the mochis/jellies that they had. There isn't too much space to sit here though (since it was the first few days of soft opening when we had gone, there were a lot of people here). The vibe inside does give it a classy minimalistic tone, but I think the people that are on their IG are better at explaining their interior haha. I was in the neighborhood and have been hearing about Torotea for some time now. I decided to come here right when they opened at 10am on a Saturday. Right when they opened there was a line starting to form and about 4 parties ahead of me. I decided to get the Jasmine Oolong and 901 black tea. While the drinks were good, I don't get the hype. It's just as good as many other boba places. I wouldn't wait more than 15-20 mins. The prices here are comparable to Chi-Cha which brews each cup fresh. The drinks here weren't potent enough and tasted just okay. I think part of the reason of this place being popular is because there isn't much competition around the area, compared to SGV where there are at least 3-5 boba spots in a mile area on Valley blvd. read more

Upon arriving I was confused and thought I had to line up outside but you have to sign up on the Yelp waitlist inside or with the yelp app. I was number 30 on the Waitlist around 2:50pm on a Sunday. I waited about 30 min until I received a text to check in with the host. The interior design of Torotea is absolutely stunning! It was pretty crowded inside since everyone was waiting for their drink. I ordered the jasmine matcha latte and I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to add any toppings. It was the best jasmine matcha latte I had so far. The jasmine tea tastes high quality, you can taste the matcha and its's not grainy. Staff was very friendly and encouraged customers to try the tea samples. The drink was very good but I don't think it's worth the 30 minute wait. The worker was honest with us and told us it really taste like popcorn and a lot people order it. We were interested so we got that and their Osmanthus refresher. The hype is real!! I've been seeing Torotea all over Instagram and so was excited to try them this past week. My brother and I went during the middle of the week and arrived right when they opened at noon. There was already a line of half a dozen in front waiting but it moved relatively quickly, with the main hold up being people asking about the different drinks as the tea shop is still very new. The workers here were all very nice and also gave samples of the Kona-Im before we ordered. The shop is fairly small with an aesthetic zen spa decor. Parking is relatively limited but we did not have any issues finding spots. For the drinks themselves, we ordered the Kona-Im milk tea, Popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi, Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus jelly (recommended by and nicknamed "the girly pop combo" according to our cashier), Misty Oolong pure tea with Osmanthus jelly and Manor milk tea with black tea tapioca mochi. There is actually a limit of 2 drinks per person present M-F (and only 1 per person on weekends) but my brother and I went both before and after eating lunch nearby so we could bring back drinks to the fam (the shop was wall to wall packed around 2 so I'd recommend arriving earlier). The favorite was unanimously the popcorn milk tea, which had sort of a roasted buttery taste to it - I've never had a drink like it before but it was absolutely fantastic. The Kona-Im at "perfect sweet" was also really good - think the Rising Phoenix from Orobae at roughly 50% sugar. The Mulberry Oolong was personally my least favorite as it tasted sort of like the old Costco berry smoothie in juice form. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't get it again. The Misty Oolong pure tea was solid but probably my second least favorite. In fairness I tend to avoid green teas so my rankings are always biased towards the black teas. Finally, the Manor milk tea was good although opinions were mixed. The tea is "honey flavored" per our cashier, and while the drink is fairly rich and does have hints of honey, it also tastes slightly floral from something other than honey. In all the drinks the jellies were good with perfect texture, but I did think the flavors of the jellies were mostly overpowered by the flavor of each drink. On a busy day, be prepared to wait 30+ for your chance to get in! However I'm happy to say this tea house lives up to its wait time. Inside is pretty small, a small area for socializing but it's not a big sit down tea spot. I love the colors inside though and the idea to use a projected menu onto the blank wall is super cool. In terms of variety it's definitely not as much as some other places but Im led to believe their quality increased with the shorter menu. This place is so good. I honestly considered going back a second time the day I went but wasn't able to. I came on a Saturday early afternoon. Originally I had planned to order online but they closed their online ordering and opening their waitlist. I was told they usually close online ordering on the weekends, though I did see online ordering was open in the morning. While I understand the waitlist process, I'm not the biggest fan of having to wait on the waitlist and then having to wait in line after checking in. I'm not sure if there is a better system out there though, but this is their system. The waitlist can get really long and it can definitely be frustrating to wait in line after and then wait for your drink. I ordered a popcorn milk tea and it was really good. I'm always really hesitant about new shops because I am always worried drinks will be too sweet. Their perfect sweet was good for me though! I personally would get less sweet next time, though how I got it was delicious and it was a nice once in a while sweet treat. My mom also got one of their Jasmine pure teas with salt cloud. She really enjoyed hers. Overall I definitely will be back. It is incredibly far away from me though, but i definitely will be stopping by anytime I'm in like a 10 mile radius. Torotea is a modern uniquely curated tea shop located in Diamond Bar. This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots. This is one of the few boba shops I know that has a Yelp waitlist! I would definitely recommend checking wait times before you go and put your name down on the waitlist ASAP. Wifey and I pulled up around 2ish for some drinks after brunch and we waited for about 30 minutes before getting to go inside. There is a staff out front that checks people in. Inside, they have a very modern and aesthetic interior. It is on the smaller side with a couple benches for seating which is why they implemented the Yelp waitlist to avoid overcrowding inside. We ended up getting the Calamansi Oolong Twist and the Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea. Both drinks were very unique in their flavor profiles and the brown sugar mochi tapioca topping added a tasty textural element! Overall, I would say this spot definitely lives up to the hype and more! All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Service is always spectacular and the vibes are great. A ultra picky tea drinker who is a physician needed her favorite tea and tea milk on demand but she couldn't find one In Diamond Bar so she opened Toro Tea. How was is ? Damn delicious! Love the Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea and their crafted jellies! It's a cute store but lots of flavor combos. The service is friendly .
