I usually order the Arabic tea, and in photo below I ordered Moroccan mint tea. This tea alleviated my post nasal drip for the day! The teas can be ordered by cup or by pot. It is really cute by the pot and enough for 2 persons, or 1 person if thirsty. I also love the avocado toast and cortado. Finjan Cafe sharing the space with Tahini is a double win! Stopped by in on Sunday to get something light and refreshing, which their Moroccan Mint Tea Cold Brew did the job. Although I wish the cafe space had more seating on their side for those who aren't there for the food, there is plenty of outdoor seating, however, and other tables in the restaurant. I loved the minimal decor and my friend had their Vanilla Bean Latte with added date foam on top. It was SO delicious! I'd highly recommend that for a coffee! Coffee is delicious, and you can tell they really care about both the quality and presentation of every drink. They make their syrups in-house and are happy to customize the sweetness level of any drink. While visiting San Diego, this became our go-to spot for morning coffee. Besides the Turkish coffee (highly recommended), I also tried the: - Orange Latte - Salted Pistachio Latte - Sparkling Orange Espresso Every drink was thoughtfully made, with unique and delicious flavors. A friend and I found this place while looking for coffee shops. Wow, it was lovely. Food was great and service was excellent. We really enjoyed our time there. I was a little mix with the ambiance. I finally got to try Finjan Coffee. I've passed by their original spot so many times but never actually went in. They opened a second location in Mission Valley inside the Tahini restaurant at Hazard Center, and I like that it's not in a super crowded plaza. It's kind of tucked away and you can grab a drink and food in the same place since they share the space. The vibe was calm and quiet, really good if you want to sit for a bit or study. Lighting was nice and not too harsh. The workers were super warm and welcoming. It felt like somewhere I'd come back to often. They have your usual coffee and tea menu, then a separate one for seasonal drinks and desserts. I took a minute to look through everything and ended up getting a seasonal matcha with cold foam and their Crunchy Knafeh. It was around $13 and comes in a small tray but it's definitely shareable. If you've never had knafeh before, it's basically a warm dessert with a crispy shredded pastry layer on top, soft melty cheese inside, and a light sugar syrup poured over it. This one had pistachios on top too. Trust me it works. When the matcha came out, I already knew it was going to be good just from the color. It was that deep green, not pale at all. First sip was so good. You get the cold foam first, then the matcha comes through smooth with a light sweetness from the date syrup. Nothing was too strong or too sweet, it just worked. I literally started texting people to try it because it felt like one of those drinks you don't forget. The knafeh came out warm and we were supposed to take it to go, but we just ate it there. It was gooey in the best way, the cheese was soft and not too heavy, and the top had that crunch with pistachios. Once we poured the syrup over it, everything came together. Not overly sweet, just really good and honestly kind of addicting. It's lowkey dangerous that they have both good matcha and desserts in one spot because you'll want both every time. I got the chance to try Finjān Coffee at a mobile booth they ran for an Eid event I attended. It was so delicious that I will absolutely seek out their shops whenever I get the chance! I tried their karak tea (a milk tea with spices and sugar) and it was absolutely delicious! I also tried their baklava (pistachio and walnut) and both were great. Their knafeh, however, was standout. I had never tried kanafeh before but I got to have it fresh and warm and it was divine! I don't drink coffee but am a sweets fanatic so stopped by Finjan to try the seasonal walnut baklava latte. The space is bright, airy and shared with the Tahini restaurant run by the same owners. As far as coffee shop locales go, this one didn't have the cozy, intimate nooks that I'd prefer if planning to stay a while but I was getting To Go so no biggie. There's a lot of cinnamon in this drink, so be sure you're a fan of that before ordering. Stopped by Finjan because I wanted Turkish coffee but realized the coffee comes in a very small cup so I opted for the hot pistachio latte while my husband go there iced version. They ran out of that original baklava so we tried their seasonal walnut baklava. Not too sweet and walnut wasn't overpowering it. Paired well with the latte very well. So excited this coffee shop opened right by me! Been here a few times, including their grand opening weekend and finally decided to post a review. Finjan shares its space with a Mediterranean eatery named Tahini, I believe they're owned by the same owners? There was ample parking in the lot so parking was not an issue. Love the ambiance at the Finjan side, it's kind of like a soft boho modern vibe with a few tables. They will announce your order when it's ready on the intercom and there's outdoor seating making this pet friendly. My favorite drinks were their seasonal Walnut Baklava latte and their pistachio matcha. Their syrup is fresh and house made! I love that their drinks are not overly sweet like some cafes. We checked out their menu which included coffees and light bites as well as baklava. I mean who could resist baklava?! Fresh!!! And, it's right near the cash register, lol! We ordered a walnut latte and a vanilla bean latte and, of course, a walnut baklava and a pistachio baklava. No pictures of the baklava we scarfed them down!!! So excited another location opened just ten minutes away from me! Their coffee hours are a bit shorter than the Kearny Mesa location but I love the atmosphere no less. It's got a clean aesthetic with modest amount of indoor and outdoor seating. This was a great coffee spot. This was my 2nd cup of the day and their flavors are always great. They are business partners with tahini. So you can get food Next Door. I would say this is more spacious than the other Clairemont spot because it combines both Tahini and the shop itself is well decorated, and I did have some trouble with WiFi, but it worked out in the end. Gathering with friends at a very nice environment not dominated by the laptop campers, what a great thing! Very clean, nice original coffee mugs with the Arabic looking writing, so photogenic! I'm so happy that Finjan Coffee is now located in Mission Valley! This is my go to spot in Kearny Mesa and one of the best coffee shops in San Diego. Today I had the pleasure of trying the Walnut Baklava Latte and the Monkey Toast. The latte had chunks of baklava making each sip a weekend treat. The latte was served at the right temperature and not too sweet which made this a 5/5 latte. The Monkey Toast was amazing with delicious blueberries, strawberries, bananas and honey drizzled on top 5/5. The ambiance is very upscale and the service was excellent. Finjan coffee is a great addition to the SD coffee scene! I'd been to the other location and it was really good, so I was excited to try this one out. This spot is attached to a restaurant 'Tahini' so you can order both in the same spot. The entrance for finjan is on the northern side of the lot. I ordered the salted pistachio latte and it was one of the best lattes i've ever had. Really smooth and just the right amount of flavoring. Okay, the Turkish coffee with cardamom is amazing. I chose the non-sweetened option and the cardamom provided such an amazing aroma and flavor. I didn't try any of the food but the baklava looked really good. The service was fast and friendly. The only thing I did not like was how loud the music was and how cold it was in there. I had to go sit outside so I could read and because it was like an arctic tundra in the coffee shop. The outdoor seating area was pleasant, no music and no freezing cold air. read more

I was very happy to learn that Finjan Coffee had opened up a second location. Why do you ask? Well, they not only make terrific espresso based beverages and teas, but some great bites as well. I recently enjoyed a great cortado and what they call their monkey toast with peanut butter, bananas, berries, and honey. The toast was great and was relatively inexpensive at $8.50. The sourdough toast was well toasted and had good flavor. The peanut butter had that warm texture so it was silky and soft. The berries were fresh and the banana at that perfect ripeness, not too hard and not too soft. It was a tasty toast. The cortado had a delicious nutty quality to it. It was very smooth and offered a bold coffee flavor. I loved the signature Finjan porcelain container the cortado came served in. The crew that worked early Sunday morning were quite hip and upbeat. They were super friendly and helpful as well. It's nice to start the day with nice cup of coffee, but even better to start with a friendly good morning. read more

This time I had the Salted Pistachio Latte (hot) - it was on the sweeter side for me but it was good. I opted for the regular whole milk. I also had the regular baklava since they were out of the pistachio baklava - it was alright. The staff was friendly and if I'm not mistaken I think they used to work at the Clairemont location. The vibe here isn't it because there's too much natural light - it needs to be more "dimmed" to get in the mood, but that's just the vibe I want. The service was prompt, friendly, inviting and gave suggestions on what could pair well with a pastry or drink. The ambiance of the whole store was calm and comforting. My bf ordered the pistachio latte, which we ordered half sweet and still felt like it was on the sweeter side. we weren't crazy about the pistachio syrup in general. I used to really like this place for their salted date matcha with the date cold foam however that is no longer on the menu. So I tried the normal iced matcha latte with date syrup as sweetener... and it was just bad.
