Mystic Mocha is a neighborhood hole in the wall with the cutest outdoor patio! They have a very kind staff that is always down for a chat and remembers their regulars. I'll usually stop in on a Thursday or Friday to get some work done and find myself sitting there for hours. The coffee menu has INSANE variety, and I love their Irish coffee. This morning I snuck in for a breakfast burrito since I've been dying to try it. The music was bumping and vibes were good. My burrito was a little dry, but nothing that some hot sauce couldn't fix. I would definitely get it again! The outdoor seating area has a few different options, levels, shady/sunny spots for everybody. It's a great meeting spot and parking is usually pretty simple. Definitely would recommend this University Heights classic!

What a great find! I was playing tourist with a friend of mine who used to live here, and we were driving around remembering all the places that we used to get drunk at...some that have changed hands, and alas, some that have closed. We needed a caffeine fix. Searched Yelp and found our way to the land of Mystic... Great little spot! Inside is cozy, but there are plenty of outside seats; picnic tables and some small two tops. Great place to come and enjoy a morning or late afternoon...you can even bring your pups! Friendly greeting when I walked in. Ordered an latte and a John Wick (my favorite character) and the irony, honey and lavender latte...LOL! Both iced. We didn't have to wait long. That John Wick was delicious! The calming of lavender and sweetness of honey....LOL! There were a few people sitting outside, and people coming in to get coffee to go. Cake was at ease and likes watching things. Definitely a place to consider and I look forward to coming back to try Frida Kahlo or Nurse Ratched...LOL! Cako Approves!

Iced John Wick, Lavender Honey Latte, $7. Need another shot, it was weak :(

Came here with friends on Sunday and it was packed. The worker was kind and they had a large menu of specialty drinks with fun names. I was going to get the hazelnut + banana aka Valkyrie but then I saw they had lavender honey latte. I went with that, they call it John Wick, I ordered it iced with regular milk-- $7. I was waiting for my name to be called, but it was hard to hear. I'm unsure how long it was sitting at the bar for & so, the drink was a bit light. I wonder how many shots they used in this size cup (it looked like a 16 oz). I think with another shot added it would be better. I don't think they make their own syrup, it's .75 cents more than other coffee shops. Not a super big deal if you're getting quality, but it wasn't a strong latte so I was a little sad. I'll order a different drink next time! There's a few inside seating and several outdoor tables. There's a little library posted nearby as well. And a bathroom, if you need it. Never been to this area of University Heights before so it's a nice spot to adventure around. Menu is big with different drinks and even breakfast items.

Cute little spot in university heights neighborhood. Always has a great selection of mochas and lattes. Highly recommend the breakfast sando, I usually get the chicken one which is legit. The bread is always fresh. The baristas who work there are always helpful and quick with service. Expect a line if you show up after 9, be patient it's worth it! Come out to this place!

I ordered a chai latte here, and it was solid with a good balance of spices and tea flavor. The bartender was excellent and and skilled. They did the best foam of the oat milk I've ever had!! A nice perk was that milk substitutes are free, which I always appreciate. For the location, it's located in a corner with limited parking, but the roads around it are relatively quiet which is nice if you want to enjoy the seating outside.

This is a cute little spot! I got the avocado bagel with tomato and truffle balsamic. It was good, but nothing special. I also got the honey lavender coffee which was simple, but tasty. The service was kind and quick with my food and drink. The interior is smaller, but a nice coffee shop. Parking can be rough.

An amazing, welcoming spot in University Heights. The neighbors just adore this sweet spot for brunchie items, coffee menu, and sweet treats. At 7:00 a.m. some locals are already placing their orders, reading the paper and settling in to a cozy seat inside. 4-legged companions and their sidekicks are hanging at tables outside greeting customers. Dog friendly with treats and photos of our beloved dogs (and cats). Breakfast sandwiches, vegan tamales, chilaquiles and more! Be sure to get your Mystic Mocha T-shirt and don't forget the coffee punch card for a freebie. Walk, bike, street parking.

The coffee here is bomb! I really like all the unique syrups. I went with the Valkyrie mostly due to curiosity because it was banana and hazelnut flavoring which I've never tried before. It was delicious!

UNIQUE AND DELICIOUS! I cannot say enough about the jackfruit tamale with green sauce! DID NOT DISAPPOINT! . Cute unique corner hole in the wall. The name matches the vibe. The staff was helpful and kind. The food.... DELICIOUS! Especially for being a coffee joint, the food was very well made and high quality! I got the tamale and the avocado bagel my friend got a sando (sandwich) next time I'll try a sandwich! I have to say I am not a fan of the moon and star mystical stuff however I'd come back for the food and coffee! I

The happy hour and the vibes are immaculate!…read more A few months ago, I went here with my boyfriend, sisters and brothers in law for my going away dinner. I am so sad because I can't remember the name of our waitress! She was amazing because she was so ON POINT with everything -- from knowing the details of each menu item, to knowing what "medium+" is for a steak. She was attentive and amazing and shoutout to her! The food and tiny 'tinis were delicious! The steak and fries were such a good deal for $25. I could've eaten two of them, and now that I'm writing this months later, I'm thinking about that meal again. There is also a spot where the live musician plays, which is awesome! When I'm in San Diego, I have to come back.

Once seated, though, we sat for about 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. I eventually had to flag someone down just to get water. We then waited even longer for our server to take our order. Because service was so slow, I ordered all of our drinks and food at once since I wasn't sure when we'd see our server again. What stood out even more was watching a couple seated next to us receive immediate attention. They were greeted, served water right away, and the woman was offered a purse hook. Meanwhile, we were sitting there with our purses shoved beside us and weren't offered the same courtesy. It may seem like a small detail, but combined with the lack of attention, it made us feel overlooked. The drinks came out quickly, and the chicken satay and mac and cheese were decent. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out food-wise either. The highlight of the evening was definitely the live music. The performers were fantastic and created a great atmosphere that honestly was the only enjoyable part of the evening.

It's got the decor, chairs, and art to match. Jessica was our server and she was amazing! She gave us lots of suggestions on what to try and what is on the menu since it was my first time here. She recommended the bloody Mary flight so did grab that to try! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and orange juice. The portions are so large! So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! Orange Juice: Not a fan really, not pulpy enough and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Overall this is definitely a must visit! I will definitely be back.

Our server Ulises was great which he immediately greeted us and was very attentive even with the Father's Day crowd. I decided to try the rib and eggs and I have to admit, I was very happy with my choice. The ribs were lightly sauced with a thin sauce that worked well. The meat was tender and had great flavor. I just didn't like the grass they put on top!lol The eggs were okay. I added cheese but I barely had any compared to my friends. The cantaloupe was a nice sweet treat afterwards. I tried my friend's meal and they were also good which they also enjoyed their meals overall. I also tried a one of the Bloody Mary flights which was the only tequila shot with pork skin on top. I do not like savory and spicy drinks but that particular shot was decent and was hot sauce for the pork skin. Overall, the experience was nice and the food was good especially for the value.
