I've been visiting this office and Dr. Alexander ever since I was in elementary school! This is definitely a very family friendly optometrist office, as the staff has also been taking care of my family for years. Dr. Alexander not only cares about your eye health, but your personal life as well. I was always asked about how I was doing in school and my mom would talk with Dr. Alexander like friends, instead of the typical patient-doctor small talk. The office however, needs to be updated. The interior has been the same for years! There is nothing wrong with the interior, but the waiting area just feels dingy and screams 2002 waiting office instead of 2017. The equipment also needs updating. To test my eye pressure, my optometrist at UCLA used drops to numb my eye and then rubbed a rollerball over the surface of my eyeball, which caused me no issues whatsoever since my eye was numb. However, at Torrance Optometry, the machine to test your eye pressure blows a sharp burst of air directly into your eyeball, which causes quite a bit of discomfort to patients. The office should be updated with the most innovative equipment to ensure patient comfort. read more

I went to Dr. Do at Torrance Optometry for an annual eye exam. I was cordially greeted by the receptionist and waited just a few minutes after filling out the typical forms. His support staff then ran a few tests on me before I saw him. Dr. Do was friendly, courteous , and knowledgeable. While my eyes are changing as I age, he didn't try to sell me glasses or contacts as he didn't feel I would benefit from them enough due to the ever so slight difference they may make; but only if I were to wear them, which I probably wouldn't. Anyways, would recommend Dr. Do and Torrance Optometry to anyone in the South Bay in need of eye care. read more

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Yu for over 10 years. His professionalism, knowledge and expertise in eye care, and especially his genuine kindness and care for us as his patients have impressed me through the years until now. He cares for us as whole people in relation to our eyes. He provides individualized care for each of us and educates us so that we understand what's going on with our care. Dr. Yu and his staff provide excellent service. So far ( after over 10 yrs ) my family and I have not had a complaint about waiting time, getting appointments, or other service related issues. My son broke his glasses and we came in without an appointment and we were accommodated in reasonable time. The person that helped us was patient with my son being indecisive about the frame style. Once my son's glasses were ordered, I realized that he needed them sooner because we were going out of town. I called Dr. Yu's office who couldn't promise that we would get them in the 2 days that I requested, but I was able to get the glasses the next day! I do not get this type of care and service with other offices. Torrance optometry is the best!!! read more

Torrance Optometry is amazing! All the staff members are very warm and prompt when it comes to appointments. They always smile once you walk in. The place is clean and spacious. Norma (the office manager) is very nice. She always smiles and treats us like family just like everyone else. Dr. Yu., is very nice as well and he already knows what's going on with your eyes, in just a second (literally)! He's so sweet. All in all, this place deserves 5 stars. This is the best optometrist in the South Bay. I have been going here for over 15 years. The staff is exceptional always making you feel comfortable. I have never had a long wait and Dr Yu is a pleasure to work with. He is very thorough in his examinations and takes as much time to answer questions as needed. I have been to many different optometries, all with a mutual experience, but this one in particular stood out. The doctors and workers are very professional as they go through the process of eye examinations. Unlike other optometries this one is the most efficient with getting things finished.
