Meh, certainly not wow. Table snack: pickled vegetables, comprising a few chunks of red pepper, a bunch of white onion pieces, and 6 cloves of garlic (!). Utterly inedible. Hot peanuts, also inedible. Guacamole: our request for a low level of onions was honored, and the guac was pretty good. However, no cilantro or lime. The portion was on the small side (but we were starved, due to slow service). Chips meh. Tacos: Meh, very lacking in taste aside from the heat. Coconut shrimp: Good, but 4 medium shrimp for $25 is steep. Tamarind mahi-mahi: quite good. Small portion, however. Enchilada: just ok. Drinks: mojito was thoroughly mediocre and tasted medicinal. Marg was good enough. Service: poor. Lots of people running around, but our service was verrrry slow and missed our cue that we wanted to order entrees right away. Our served wanted to take a drink order, deliver the drinks, take an app order, deliver the app, then take a dinner order. Important-looking men striding by in suits don't impress me when I'm hungry, thirsty and our table is empty. In sum: the prices are too steep to motivate me to return. The fajitas are $20-35?! And for $20-$30 entrees, I find it an insult to have to order sides for another $5. I really miss Pacifico's mojitos, guac, and the arancini they had. read more

Awful Experience, Will never go back!!! Stay Away Rude management, this restaurant will not last long treating customers bad. Got to the Restaurant and my wife realized she forgot her ID. It was her Birthday!!! Our Waitress checks my ID and then told my wife she is fine, that the waitress believes my wife is over 21!! I am 34 and she is 32. So the waitress says she would be back with our complimentary glass of champagne. Comes back and says she can't give us alcohol because the manager denied it. Wouldn't have been so mad but after you say your giving it to us then take it away was pretty awful on her Birthday. Manager came over and was VERY rude to us, so that was enough to leave the restaurant. Again, I understand you need your ID to drink alcohol, but you can't say you will give it and then take it away from us!!! Will be telling friends and family to stay away!!! read more

I really enjoy the bar at Torre. It has very good drinks centered around using tequila in drinks such as their version of an old fashioned. The food in general is very good. Their shrimp tacos are great and their tres leches cake is excellent. Their food and drinks are somewhat pricey but I feel that they are worth the price. read more

The atmosphere was great, both open and airy. Sadly, this was the only good thing about the place. My food was gross. It was greasy and it barely had any filling. (I got the enchilada del mar) I had two bites and couldn't eat the rest. I was also given chips and salsa, but was unaware I was being charged for them. My server come to my table twice, once to take my order and then to give me the bill. To make matters worse, I waited over a half hour for my food to come out. One of my favorite local restaurants. The food is always delicious, the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is very fun. Everything I've tried has been amazing, but my favorites are the yuca fries and the churros. The hostess, Kaylyn, is always very sweet and helpful, and our waitress, Leslie, was great. Amazing food but beware if you order take out! Have dined at the restaurant multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have grabbed take out on occasion and very much enjoyed it as well until the last two times. Ordered nachos both times - first time got them home and was surprised at the small portion in the container knowing what you get when you dine in - thought it was just a fluke. Ordered the second time and realized this must be their new normal for take out - portion was, at most, half of what you get when you dine in! The decor & atmosphere is great, the staff very friendly. The nachos are a MUST but every other plate of food we tried was not authentic Mexican. It was a mix of different Latin foods all on one menu. I will return to try other plates. This visit I had the enchiladas. read more

Great place. Like mites menu in relation to other Mexican places but the food is great. Had guacamole as an appetizer. Very tasty and very fresh chips. I had a Mexican version of steak. Completely screwed up my order. I ordered beef tacos in HARD shells. Instead I got pulled pork in soft tacos. The pork was fatty and chewy. There wasn't anything on the menu that looked good to me and I didn't know there was a children's menu until I looked online. The food is so upscale that they manage to mess up the easiest of authentic food. For example, I ordered the salsa sample and got 4 salsas that we're all chunky or liquid, nothing simply delicious. The drinks were so filled with ice that I spilled my drink because it was so filled and barely even tilted it. The drink had so much ice that I needed a refill every 5 minutes. The server seemed annoyed with our table and was not pleasant to talk to at all. The atmosphere was good, but the food and drinks along with service is horrendous. read more

Beautiful, modern Mexican restaurant. Very upscale and gourmet. This isn't your typical Mexican joint. I had the stuffed, roasted jalapenos....spicy and delicious. My husband had the shrimp, avocado ceviche, tasty. I had enchiladas and yucca fries My husband had the chicken mole. He said it was the best chicken he ever ate, moist and buttery. I was there just once and never go there again! I ordered "Carne Asada" which was fine, but it was not worth for the price. My wife ordered "Enchilada Verde" which was awful: the potato, cheese and sauce were fine, but the chicken was terrible, smelled like feet and tasted even worse! She could not even swallow just one morsel. It was a terrible experience for us and we will never try this place again. read more

The first time we went here I was really impressed by the food and atmosphere. The atmosphere is still wonderful, but the food wasn't. I had the salmon dish and it was barely ok. I had the Fruta guacamole and it was awesome, but my Veracruz tacos were terrible - first off they looked like an appetizer (they were that small) and it was very spicy. I found this restaurant to be absolutely fabulous...It was clean, inviting, the hostess seated us right away. The restaurant was busy yet our server was extremely attentive. The food was delicious, we enjoyed everything we ordered. My favorite part is that they make the guacamole to order so I can no include onions. Then, to make a great experience better, they came out with 2 flutes of champagne and Tres Leche's cake and avocado ice cream, which was to die for. Just left this place. Highly disappointed due to being scammed for a $10 Racer 5 IPA. Sadly, I'm a beer connoisseur, and this good (but not great) beer was sold to me for $10 AT HAPPY HOUR!! Glad the Lehigh Valley has picked up its game and put in a variety of restaurants recently. You have to go and try the guacamole for sure. I'm a fan of the classic, while my friend really enjoyed the fruit guac they have. And, the margaritas are great! Good happy hour special that would have me coming again. The main dishes were decent options as well - pretty standard, and I got what I expected out of my fish dish. Waitress took the time to ask us if everything was ok. So since 3 stars is still a decent rating, 2 stars it is. I read some of the reviews, and decided despite some negative reviews to try this place out. I was pretty excited as they are owned by the same company that owns Melt which is one of my FAVORITE places to go. And since one of the wait staff there told me that Torre was like an Authentic Mexican Upscale Restaurant like Melt (and I LOVE Authentic Mexican cuisine) I have been dying to check it out. So I definitely went in with an idea of what I expected the restaurant would be like... it didn't meet those expectations but that is NOT why it gets a 2 star review, the 2 star review was earned by the food and the experience. It was my birthday, and the place was definitely busy, but we were sat right away (we had a reservation). It didn't take long for the waitress to greet us, and if I reviewed this place just on the waitress alone it would get 4 stars. She did a good job and was accommodating when she could be. Torre to me is more like a club/bar scene. The music was so loud, we were yelling at each other and the waitress to be able to communicate. It resulted in a few mis-communications on the meal (which is understandable with the music level) which were quickly rectified. It would be hard to convince me that the food is made fresh from scratch for each meal. When asked if the queso fundido was made fresh to order and if the meat could be removed the answer was no. The queso fundido was a thin layer of cheese and meat that was enough for 3 people to each eat about 3 tablespoons of for $10. The nachos were even worse. The portion was polar opposite, HUGE, but SO OVER COOKED. The brisket was overcooked, tough and dry. It was obviously cooked prior and then reheated to place on the nachos then most likely placed under a broiler to melt the cheese meaning... so so dry. The cheese was over melted too. It' like when you put shredded cheese on dry chips in a microwave and over cook it, and it's tough like plastic and not at all soft and melty. The ravioli's we got were not shabby. But can you go wrong with frozen deep fried raviolis? The only entree we were happy with was the Vegetarian Enchiladas. They were layered and not really what I consider enchiladas, but they were cooked well and tasted good. I got the Mole Chicken with Spanish Rice and Plantains. The plantains were good, the chicken was SUPER thin and so over cooked that the top layer was peeling up. I had to scrape the what was left of the thin dry chicken out of the overcooked top and bottom (which really leads me to think the chicken is prep cooked and then just thrown on a grill to finish leading to rubber chicken) and use the mole sauce to try and moisten it. The mole sauce was just okay. The Spanish rice was hard and dry. For $20 I expected a decent size meal but this was pretty small. I will be shocked if there was a cup of rice on the plate. The special Cuban Sandwich that we got was enormous, burnt, the bread was tough/hard and the meat was again... dry overcooked and flavorless. Thank god for the mustard that somewhat helped, but not even the pickles could give enough moisture to help swallow that sandwich. The Yucca fries, perfect. Tasty and cooked very well. We ordered the Pineapple Mango Guacamole which was alright. The consistency was thin. And the things that made each guacamole different were just laid atop. So it seems they probably make a base of guacamole and then however they change it up is all in the topping. Which I guess would be okay if I realized that sooner so that I could mix it in versus just getting mouthfuls of pineapple and then having none. There isn't a ton of negative feedback for the pork butt tacos, but there are only 3 of them. And even with the toppings is a pit pricey for $10-$15 being there are no sides, just 3 small tacos. And with higher quality meats I would understand, but this was just overpriced. And the slaw was soured. But, left off, the tacos were edible. We were then left with dessert. The Avocado Ice cream tasted NOTHING like avocado ice cream. Actually, it tasted like nothing. Cream maybe? But again, I have had Avocado Ice Cream before, and was really excited to have some and was so disappointed. The Churros were good but HUGE and you got 5 of them. This really should be listed as a dessert to share. There was such a disproportion to the meal. Some items were so large and some small, and there was just really no understanding whether to order something for yourself or if it was something to feed the whole table. The Bar really seems to be the star in this place. The drinks were okay, and didn't take forever to get. If I were looking to go out with some friends and sit at the bar with decent drinks and bar standard appetizers this would be a fun place to go. But then again, I can hit up a Friday's, Applebee's, or Casey's and get the same experience a little nicer on the wallet. $1 read more

Fun, great food, and great service. Torre has a two-story tequila bar that is beautiful. The food is sensational and the service is the best. Sunday brunch is great too! The prices are very reasonable. Love their homemade guacamole and chips. The fish tacos and the fish enchiladas are fabulous. The tres leches and churros with chocolate sauce makes a perfect ending.
