#9. Machaca beef burrito, Machaca enchilada, deep fried Machaca beef taco
    Russ G.

While this restaurant is not at the top of my list of favorite Mexican restaurants, it is in my top 10. The food here is well seasoned and the portions are more than enough to satisfy my appetite. I ordered the #9 combo from the extensive menu, and was pleased with my choice. The service was on par with a busy dinner service on Tuesday. Our server was friendly and attentive. If you're in the area and thinking about having tacos, burritos, or enchiladas for dinner, don't pass this place up.

This is a great place for decent Mexican food. They have a nice assortment of margaritas and a large menu of food items. Be careful on when you go, they are regularly pretty crowded. Also, the back looks like the front when you enter, it's the only building that has its entrance on the opposite side.

Local KC chain of mediocre at best Mexican. Salsa and chips are very good! Tamales were all cornmeal and no carnitas. Chile Con Queso was yellow cheese and very bland. Service was fantastic! Our server was very attentive and nice!

We got takeout from this place. It's in the neighborhood and these guys are pretty good in terms of service because they listen to you they ask you for some questions make sure you're ordering the right thing. They also make sure that you get extra sauce, complementary nachos and if you want to customize anything there is definitely do that too. I ordered a lot of food from this place many times but I think I'm a huge fan of their enchiladas so make sure you try them and they do run specials so check out their menu and make sure you see which day they are running what kind of a special, the crab and shrimp enchilada are bomb Make sure you try that. We also love their churros. It does represent a very TexMex style of a restaurant inside the ambience is OK. We haven't had much chance to sit with a larger group of people, but it's place to go in the neighborhood and have some nice Tex-Mex food.

Immediately inviting and friendly with super fast service from Ashley G. I started with Cancun chicken - exceptional: it was both moist and flavorful. The salsa was not overly cilantro-dependent. Cheese dip was a good-sized portion. Pollo poblano was ok. Charring the veggies would have helped develop the flavor. Fried ice cream was on the sweet side but made perfectly. Highly recommend.

We LOVE Francis at Mi Ranchito!! He's taken care of our family SO many times. And A LOT during my pregnancy. I craved cream cheese chicken enchiladas a lot and he took care of us so much, we had to bring the baby after he was born! Francis is like having a family member serve us every time. We always get so happy when we get to have him as our waiter!! He's truly the best waiter ever.

If we could use half stars, I'd add one here. We were seated quickly, in a spacious booth, and not relegated to one of the tiny tables in middle of everything, as two women alone in restaurants often are. The server was very good, and started us out right with a big basket of complimentary chips, perfectly thin and crispy, and our own separate bowls of tomato sauce, along with one small bowl of a very liquid avocado sauce without much flavor. I like Margaritas tart and limey, and theirs didn't have enough of either, but they were decent, and at two 12 oz. glasses for $7, I'd never turn them down! I think it was Happy Hour. We both had the Mango Chicken Salad, which includes strawberry, mangos, and avocado slices, Monterey Jack cheese, corn, black beans, and sliced grilled chicken over (actually) fresh greens, served with both honey mustard and mango vinaigrette dressings on the side. It was good, and I would order it again, but I'd request more fruit to liven up the flavor. Their menu is huge, and overwhelming. It seemed to be full of interesting items...but I was too weary after a long day at work to look through it, and relied on my friend's salad recommendations.

I have been eating at Mi Ranchito for years and it never fails me. The service is fast and friendly. Try: Espinaca dip for appetizer and Fajita Con Queso Enchiladas for your entree.

First time since before the pandemic I've actually dine in here and has changed. We went just before the dinner rush to avoid the crowd on a Saturday (anytime after 4:30). Got seated, drinks & chips super fast. Our entrées came with 10 minutes after ordering & were smoking hot. The chicken in our tacos & burritos were uber tender & flavorful. The tacos were loaded with chicken & cheese, made to order minus tomatoes. Drinks are always stiff and never lack a buzz !

I always remembered this place as being hit or miss. Gave it a try on a Friday afternoon around 2:00. We were seated right away, and our server was very friendly and attentive. Chips were absolutely PERFECT! They were perfectly crispy and warm, and were just thick enough to not break easily. Salsa was very good. Not too thick, and not too runny or chunky. More of a puréed texture. I had one of the best Skinny Margaritas I've had at a Mexican restaurant here in JOCO. Food was great as well. I would have liked for the bell peppers in the Rancheras enchiladas to have been cooked longer so they weren't so crunchy. Also, there were only green peppers, no yellow or red. They did allow me to change the sauce on my enchilada dish, which I really appreciated. Will definitely be back, mostly for the chips and salsa and skinny margarita. *I am not a huge fan of the ambiance. So if you are looking for something cozy or cool, this is not the place. It is very loud, bright, and open.

Large menu including just about any Mexican food item that you wish. Typical atmosphere for a Mexican restaurant, where there is no mistaking you are in a Mexican sitting MARGARITAS Impressive margarita list with daily margarita specials. I ordered the Tuesday special in frozen form and it was really good. It was full of tequila and a large glass! FOOD I ordered the Mole Chicken Enchilada. It was good. The mole was spicy, the kind that builds over time. I liked it but avoid if you don't like spice. The Chips and Salsa was not my favorite. The standard salsa was bland. We asked for spicy salsa and it was really hot, too hot for me. I'm not sure if they offer medium. Overall it served its purpose for a Taco Tuesday dinner but not a place I'd crave to return to.

Being in Olathe - there's always a debate about which Mexican restaurant is the best. Jose Peppers - Kmachos - MI ranchito - jalapeños - Oscar's.....we have wayyyy too many good options around here! I'm a sucker for Jose Peppers but decided We would give MI ranchito a shot! It actually surprised me more than I was thinking. Super cute place. Service was incredible. Huge menu selection. Chips were hot, salty and delicious! And salsa was amazing. I got a chimichanga and substituted the black beans for refried beans. And I'm not a huge fan of Mexican rice but like cilantro lime rice better usually - however they did not have this option. The rice and beans were okay..not my favorite - but I barely eat them anyways no matter what place I eat at so that's fine. The chimichanga was amazing, rich, hot and packed full! Hubs got the enchiladas Ranchero with steak and the steak was very nicely seasoned and stuffed with goods as well. The steak was a tiny bit chewy - but that's usually expected in an enchilada. We also are a sucker for queso so had to compare the espinaca dip - it was thick and hot and a very nice portion. Definitely planning on coming back here!

Your bowl of chips is rarely empty for long (especially for a glutton like me) and meals are delivered hot & ready. It's a big space, and when the place is packed, there is a LOT of service traffic on the floor. Wait times are usually not bad and the tables turn quickly with all of the help happening. The food is good, maybe not great. But it's not far from great and if you ordered something that would be delivered hot, then you can be sure that it will be served VERY hot. A plate of carnitas runs about $16, comes with tortillas, and is served very hot. K Machos makes a sensational traditional carnitas plate, and this is one of those top shelf items to try. If you want a taco salad or standard TexMex plate, then you get the good level. K Machos has a great drink menu and great drink specials.
