Drinks came out and then we placed our orders. Tried the espinaca queso which came in a tortilla bowl which was interesting but held well the entire time. The dip was good, no spice at all just cheese. For my entree I tried the fajita bowl with chicken and let me tell you, it came in a very big bowl. There was equal amounts rice and black beans and plenty of fajitas and chicken. I felt it was all generous and there was not too little of anything. Came here for the first time. I've seen a few Mi Ranchitos and we've talked about going so we finally did. I admit, I'm sad I waited so long. The food was great, the Margaritas were in point and the price was amazing. Place was busy, there were a few "birthdays" going on, because there were lots of sombreros and singing going on. I've been going to Mi Ranchito for over 20 years, close to when it first opened! This just happens to be the location I live by now. I love and adore Mi Ranchito. Their chips are the perfect level of thin and crispy, the salsa is great, and I love the wide range of margarita flavors they offer. As far as the service.... Again, been going here for two decades and I don't recall one single occasion of bad service. It's always been the kind of place where they recognize and appreciate the regulars. It's a good atmosphere! I suppose I should talk more about the food. Again, never a bad experience really. I get one of two things- the steak fajitas, which are good but not incredibly memorable- or the divine chicken cream cheese enchilada. I haven't been able to find it's like anywhere. I lived in Texas for three years and I LONGED for my cream cheese chicken enchiladas. The sauce, oh the sauce..... I always get extra, both for the dish itself and to dip my chips in. I will say that the only downside is doing to go or a call in order.... It is not exactly uncommon to find that an extra sauce is missing. Or, for example, if you don't specify that you want the free chips and salsa, it may not be in there. Just check the bag before you leave, that's all I'm saying. Still, one or two little mistakes absolutely will not stand in the way of a five star rating. I honestly love eating here. read more

First time here in our search for Mexican food that compares to what we've been used to on the West Coast. So far, this was the best. My husband & I had enchiladas. I had cheese & he had chicken mole. He really enjoyed his - the mole was very flavorful. Mine were okay, but a little on the bland side. The salsa was okay, but had no heat at all - none. The service was good & friendly and the atmosphere is traditional & festive. It's in the neighborhood and these guys are pretty good in terms of service because they listen to you they ask you for some questions make sure you're ordering the right thing. They also make sure that you get extra sauce, complementary nachos and if you want to customize anything there is definitely do that too. I ordered a lot of food from this place many times but I think I'm a huge fan of their enchiladas so make sure you try them and they do run specials so check out their menu and make sure you see which day they are running what kind of a special, the crab and shrimp enchilada are bomb Make sure you try that. We also love their churros. It does represent a very TexMex style of a restaurant inside the ambience is OK. If we could use half stars, I'd add one here. We were seated quickly, in a spacious booth, and not relegated to one of the tiny tables in middle of everything, as two women alone in restaurants often are. The server was very good, and started us out right with a big basket of complimentary chips, perfectly thin and crispy, and our own separate bowls of tomato sauce, along with one small bowl of a very liquid avocado sauce without much flavor. I like Margaritas tart and limey, and theirs didn't have enough of either, but they were decent, and at two 12 oz. glasses for $7, I'd never turn them down! I think it was Happy Hour. We both had the Mango Chicken Salad, which includes strawberry, mangos, and avocado slices, Monterey Jack cheese, corn, black beans, and sliced grilled chicken over (actually) fresh greens, served with both honey mustard and mango vinaigrette dressings on the side. It was good, and I would order it again, but I'd request more fruit to liven up the flavor. Their menu is huge, and overwhelming. We like the food at Mi Ranchito., but the take out service is unreliable. On multiple occasions, our order was either incomplete or completely wrong. But, we never complained because it's too far of a drive to go back to have our order corrected. Recently, on Mother's Day, my wife chose Mi Ranchito take out for her special celebration meal. She asked me to double check the order when I picked it up I forgot to check it. I got home and realized her order was wrong. It was a taco salad instead of a chicken enchilada. I called the restaurant. This time, I wanted our money back. I had to wait on the phone to talk to a manager. Finally, I spoke to the manager whose first suggestion was for me to drive back and pick up a corrected order. WRONG!!! I wasn't going to drive 30 minutes each way for their convenience. I asked for my money back for at least my wife's order. She reluctantly complied and said she would credit the whole order. It has been three weeks and we haven't seen a credit for our order. We are SUPER glad there is a New Mexican restaurant coming a couple of blocks away from Mi Ranchito. Maybe when Mi Ranchito gets some competition in the neighborhood they will be forced to add quality checks to their take out service. read more

I always remembered this place as being hit or miss. Gave it a try on a Friday afternoon around 2:00. We were seated right away, and our server was very friendly and attentive. Chips were absolutely PERFECT! They were perfectly crispy and warm, and were just thick enough to not break easily. Salsa was very good. Not too thick, and not too runny or chunky. More of a puréed texture. I had one of the best Skinny Margaritas I've had at a Mexican restaurant here in JOCO. Food was great as well. I would have liked for the bell peppers in the Rancheras enchiladas to have been cooked longer so they weren't so crunchy. Also, there were only green peppers, no yellow or red. They did allow me to change the sauce on my enchilada dish, which I really appreciated. Chips were hot, salty and delicious! And salsa was amazing. I got a chimichanga and substituted the black beans for refried beans. And I'm not a huge fan of Mexican rice but like cilantro lime rice better usually - however they did not have this option. The rice and beans were okay..not my favorite - but I barely eat them anyways no matter what place I eat at so that's fine. The chimichanga was amazing, rich, hot and packed full! Hubs got the enchiladas Ranchero with steak and the steak was very nicely seasoned and stuffed with goods as well. The steak was a tiny bit chewy - but that's usually expected in an enchilada. I eat here about once a month. I love that they have multiple vegetarian options. On most recent takeout order I got both the veggie burrito and the veggie enchiladas. Mi Ranchito Olathe surprised us last night with delicious food and amazing service. Our chicken fajitas, fish tacos and another chicken dish were all very good with plenty of leftovers. I loved the beans while the rice could do better. The cheese dip was fantastic and had a little kick to it. The chips were complimentary and served warm but the salsa was nothing to write home about. The flour tortillas were served piping hot and the whole experience from getting seated to paying the check was smooth and quick. This restaurant is using regular menus (instead of paper ones). I asked if they were being cleaned and the waiter said that "he thought so." The food was not the greatest and it was super greasy. We ordered chile relleno and were charged $2 extra just for 3 tortillas. That dish should already come with tortillas, so it doesn't seem appropriate to charge extra. The waiter maybe was just having a bad day, but we felt like he was very indifferent. We were the ones asking for more drinks and/or refills. He asked a couple times if we needed boxes, but we weren't finished eating. I'm sure people are obnoxious right now, so I'm not going to totally blast him on everything. I don't go to this restaurant enough to know if this is the normal here or not, but just make sure you're aware of the up charges on everything and hopefully your server will be having a better day. read more

My aunt lives this place and this location specifically. I had never tried it, so of course I wanted it. I already knew the drinks were huge, and might I say they were quite tasty as well. There were four of us in our party, & we did not wait long for our food. Mi Ranchito gives you huge portions with their entrees. Every single person at my table ordered something different, and I seriously wanted to try every item. I ordered the chili con queso fajita enchilada with chicken. My meal didn't stand a chance. Everything was so flavorful and enough to get me full. This is certainly a place where you could order one dish and stick to that dish because it's so good, or try something new on your next visit because you have KK doubt that their other options would be just as tasty. The only downside to the entire visit, was that my spicy jalapeño margarita could have been a little bit spicier. Other than that, the flavor was certainly there. I've only had the fajitas here and I love them. They give you enough to take home for lunch the next day. Every time I've been here it has been packed and it has been a 15 to 20 minute wait but I think it's well worth it. During nice weather you can ask to be seated outside and they will typically's seat you outside quickly. Overall the staff is super friendly and has their moments of being fast. read more

Food was good. Waiter was pleasant. However, staff not very friendly for people in wheelchairs. I was struggling getting the door open while I was pulling my mother's wheelchair. I moved a single chair staged at the narrow door, so we could get thru. The hostess rushed up to move the chair back.... Not to assist or even open the other outer door. The other workers -three people, one appearing to be a supervisor, just stood there and watched.
