    Smoked half chicken

We camped at Thousand Lakes, literally next door to this bbq spot, so of course we had to stop by for dinner. We ordered the smoked half chicken ($22) with pineapple cole slaw and the smoked beef tri tip ($26) with corn on the cob. Portion sizes were decent and nicely plated. Service took about 15 minutes to get our food, but server was friendly. The western music and wooden picnic tables served up a good vibe for yummy bbq. I wouldn't say it was the best bbq I've ever had, but it definitely hit the spot and was a good choice for dinner.

Salmon with baked potato and cornbread

I was very impressed with Torrey Grill & BBQ. I stopped by to order takeout and got the salmon with a baked potato and cornbread. On ordering, it seemed pricey, but the amount of food I received was very generous. And delicious! The salmon was well seasoned and moist, and the filet I received was twice as big as a normal portion. Since I didn't want sour cream, they gave me a generous amount of butter packets for my huge baked potato. The only thing not to my taste was the cornbread, which was very hard (overbaked?) and had jalapeños or some other pepper inside. But overall, this place is well worth a visit!

amazing food. amazing atmosphere! So glad we stopped here on our trip! The service was so nice and fast, especially with the quality of food! We'll be coming back next time we come out to see the Parks! One of the best steaks I've ever had!

Everything was delicious. My family of four all gave their food 5 stars. Some might consider it a little pricey but the portions are good and it's a tasty, filling bbq meal. I would say it's worth it. Service was polite and helpful. The setting is covered open air. Cool place!

Try the white BBQ sauce with your tri tip! Horseradish flavor, originating in Alabama (as we learned from the chef), was so good! Tri tip and ribs were great, as was the loaded cream corn! Cheddar masked potatoes were good, but not amazing. Unsuspecting to find such solid bbq in Torrey, but a very welcome surprise.

Smoked bbq ribs to perfection! Fall off bone tender but still enough good texture.

The best bbq I've ever had! Their special white bbq sauce topped off the perfectly smoked and tender pork ribs and tri-tip! The mash potatoes and coleslaw were excellent as well. My wife enjoyed their Smoke Chix House Salad. A hidden gem and a must try for any bbq lovers visiting Torrey, UT or needing an amazing meal after hiking at Capital Reef National Park. Restaurant is only open April to October 15th. Thanks for sharing your passion for bbq cuisine, Peter!

Really nice people! They were super friendly and happy to be there. I went twice while staying at the RV park attached. The food is really fresh and they make everything in house. The owner gave my dog his own plate each night I took my food to go. Very laid back location and plenty of seating. They had a fire going the second night I went which was really nice!

Torrey Grill & BBQ is such an awesome gem in Torrey, Utah. If you are traveling around Capitol Reef National Park, you must stop in for dinner! We ordered the Smoked Sliced Beef Tri Tip and Dry Rub Smoked Pork Ribs. Both included corn bread and a side, which we chose baked beans and potato salad. Everything was delicious. The meats were tender and well-seasoned and the sides were super tasty. The beans reminded me of true Southern comfort food. As a plus, they have four sauces to try--Class BBQ, Sweet and Spicy BBQ, White BBQ, and Teriyaki sauce. You can try all of them and trust me, they were all tasty! This place will truly make you feel at home, as Chef Peter personally greeted us and chatted with us about our travel plans and about the food. Torrey may be a small town, but you can feel the soulful warmth as the employees greeted all their regular patrons as they came in. We will definitely have dinner here again the next time we travel through Utah. The trip is worth it!

My room was meticulously clean, and keeping in the western theme, well appointed. I wanted for nothing. Except for a peaceful night's rest. That I got. My room was quiet and the bed comfortable. Though the building was full, every room occupied, I didn't hear a sound from my neighbors. Either there's excellent insulation, or the adjacent rooms housed church mice. Not a squeak was heard. A hearty breakfast awaits after you're finished with your dreams. Take advantage of it. It'll provide the energy you'll need for the days adventures. Broken Spur will be a pleasant memory. There aren't too many good options for quality dining in Torrey, but Broken Spur is pretty good. I…read moretried both the Smoked BBQ Brisket ($28) and the Sirloin Steak ($28). The brisket was around average in quality and the flavor was heavily reliant on the BBQ sauce (although that was quite good). It also came with veggies and potatoes on the side. The sirloin steak was also average in quality - nothing special to note. We asked for medium rare, but it was cooked more to a medium. The prices were fair considering the limited options in the area and the type of meat. The restaurant is connected to an inn and it is decorated in an old-timey western style, which I liked. The staff are friendly, although the service speed could have been a bit faster. Overall, while the quality of food was fairly average, I still enjoyed my experience, and given the limited options in Torrey (especially later at night), Broken Spur is still a solid choice.

We ordered a medium Hang'em High pizza with Canadian bacon, sausage and pepperoni and it was exceptional. The Tucson tamale was packed with flavor and tasted homemade.
