This is the third time I've ate here and it doesn't disappoint at all. We got seated quickly and ordered drinks. Our server came back in no time and we ordered food. I got the tenderloin cooked rare and Bobbie got the smoked ribs with fries, my side was brown and wild rice. My steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork and the cranberry sauce was excellent. Bobbies ribs had a nice smoked flavor to them with a sticky glaze. Our sides were ok but nothing special. And the view of the cliffs was by far the best part. The views are stunning but all the window seating was taken. The service was awesome and so friendly. We had the sweetest waitress. We got right in around 6:30-7 with a party of six. We all ordered totally different things - so I'll speak on my food first. I loved the Mahi Mahi and roasted squash. My husband didn't like his cowboy steak and ended up feeling bloated from it later. My daughter ate almost all her spaghetti. Her friend said the pesto pasta had too much sauce and she likes a lot of sauce. The Cesar salad was finished so I assume that was good and my friend didn't finish his trout so didn't seem to love it. Went to dinner in Torrey. Not a ton of options in this town. Food overall was fine. Not necessarily noteworthy but not bad. The salsa tasted fresh, but had no spice. My salad was fine added chicken, that was grilled well. Again nothing wow special. My spouse did really enjoy his steak with sauce. He says was cooked well. Dessert with the pie was good, a little fresh whipped cream would add a nice touch over the canned stuff. Service was good though. Friendly staff. One of the worst meals have had in a long time. I had chicken- the thinnest chicken with the skin on and wings attached. It was awful. Spouse had pork chop that had a blop of applesauce on it - looked awful. Pork was chewy. Buns were dry and hard. Plus the meals were pricy- $27 each. Service was good & it was clean. Only saving was I could watch a humming bird. It gets a 2 because of the staff & hummingbird. Otherwise it would be a one. read more

Amazing hospitality at the Rim Rock Restaurant. We felt welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. Staff was delightful with just the right amount of "checking" on how we were doing. Steaks were delicious and prepared just as we requested providing generous portions. The sunset here is out of this world! If you happen not to be lucky enough to grab a window seat, don't worry...most seats in the lower dining room have a great view. My ONLY suggestion for change is to add better lighting on the window tables. Once the sun goes down, those tables are DARK and the little candle doesn't do the job. Rim Rock has a few different restaurants. We had pizza at one of their restaurants and it was delicious. There's tvs, small inside area, a bar/bar seating, and an outside area. The food was delicious but didn't list what is actually on the pizzas. We got a vegetation one that came with policies and mushrooms which we both don't like, that's on us for not asking directly what was on it. The service was friendly and quick! There's not a lot of restaurants in the area, so it was quite busy but didn't affect the service in anyway. read more

Excellent service We were tired from a long drive and happy to be checked into a hotel for the night. Using Yelp and with a recommendation from our hotel, we headed to Rim Rock. Scott was our server and we took a real liking to him. We were a difficult table, excessive requests, ordering oddly like getting a second kid's meal when the first one didn't fill up the kid, and Scott handled it all in stride and kept us in a happy place. As for the food, I got their Cowboy Cut Rib Eye and their Spicy Fries. The fries were a mistake, the spicy was too much paprika. I liked the regular fries I stole from the kid better. The steak was very good, a demi glaze a nice plus to an already excellent steak. It was a large thick cut, which helped make up for all the fat I had to cut away. With time to eat more food, I also got dessert, warm berries with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Simply delicious. The view was spectacular, we sat outside on a pleasant evening appreciating the majestic landscape we planned to see more of the next morning. read more

We loved our dinner. We both ordered Utah Trout and acorn squash. The salad was I over flowing the plate with fresh mixed greens and a delicious homemade berry vinegarette The trout was a nice portion of fresh pink color topped with butter and pine nuts. The acorn squash was roasted goodness and perfect. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The service was perfect. We loved it so much we have reservations to go back again for dinner the next night. Had a pleasant evening here. The views are spectacular and the windows are well located such that many diners can enjoy the views. Our server was prompt and polite. We enjoyed the special appetizer of shrimp and shisito peppers and they were tasty with a nice sauce on them. I had the vegetarian enchiladas and would recommend them for everyone (not just vegetarians)--it's great to see vegetarian food made with care and delicious. I might recommend finding a way to better dress the salad --it's hard to distribute the dressing when there's a blob of it in the center and it's served on a small plate. We decided to check out the Rim Rock Inn Restaurant after spending the day in Capitol Reef. This ended up being a good solid choice for a sit down vacation meal. Menu options are all classic American food and portions are pretty sizable and all come with a side/soup. I got the burger and fries with a soup of the day (corn chowder). The burger was big and came with all the usual toppings (tomatoes, lettuce, onions, blue cheese) and the spicy fries had a Cajun seasoning on them. I will never understand why restaurants serve cold hard butter with their warm rolls. The view is great in every direction. Atmosphere is charming and we had pretty good service. The tenderloin with cranberry demi glacé was quite tender and the mash potatoes tasted much better than they looked. The honey garlic chicken was the real winner though. The crispy glazed skin was phenomenal. For dessert, the warm berries with ice cream were delicious. The crème brûlée was disappointing. They make it in a deep cup, instead of the traditional shallow dish so the custard doesn't set properly and is quite soupy. It was also grainy and not silky smooth custard as it should be.
