This is my favorite nail salon they are upgrading and keep getting better. Sanitary, everything is really clean. Jasmine is pro when it comes to nails. Ask for Jasmine. I came to Torrey Nails on a reccomendation. I had heard this place was good, and decided to stop by. I live 30 minutes away, but since I was in the area, decided I'd go in and try them out. I ended up really liking this place!! I went in for a fill and pedi, and Angel and Kim were great!!! Maybe it's because I'm pregnant, but the pedi massage felt AAAAA-MAZING!!!! I think I'm now in love with Kim!!!! LOL!! Conversation with Angel was great, and I noticed the other technicians also engaging with their customers. Its great to go somewhere where there isn't any awkward silence between the 2 parties. They weren't pushy in upselling to u, but were great in recommending products/services. I did find out the salon is now under new ownership/management, so I HIGHLY recommend u stop by and check them out!!! I definitely plan on making the 30 minute drive next time I need a Mani/Pedi!!! read more

Probably won't be coming here again. Horrible pedicure. I had a gel pedicure before coming in, which is pretty obvious when someone has gel. They started soaking my feet and mentioned I had gel, the tech was obviously annoyed that now she had to perform another step. The whole time she was muttering things under her breath, to her coworkers, mind you, in another language. Then she nicked my cuticle, and acting like it wasn't big deal and then told me to put my foot back in the water-- which I said no-- because it was still bleeding and I wanted it to be addressed. It took her awhile to finally get it to stop. I was not happy, which I'm sure she new, so she had a coworker finish my pedicure. On top of all of that, my gel pedicure was messy. read more

I've been a longtime customer here. This place has undergone renovations and I personally like the new open setup they have. Manicurists/pedicurists are usually a hit or miss. I do agree with some reviewers about the inconsistencies, but if you have a regular manicurist/pedicurist then you shouldn't have a problem. I, for one don't go here as often as before, because the staffing has changed. The ones I used to go to no longer work there, but I do come once in a blue moon and they still remember me. With that aside, my last treatment was so-so. The massage wasn't as long as before and there was too much chit chatting going on that I barely could really RELAX. I guess management has gone quite lenient here. Where's the professionalism ?! Also, I usually feel like a nail spa should have more of a calm/soothing environment. Not this one. Boo. I got a mani/pedi. They tried to get me to get gel fills, but when I said no, the manicurist seemed to take offense to it. She even asked me why I stopped getting my eyebrows waxed and that my eyebrows were crooked. Wow the nerve. Ugh. (Btw, I do threading now and I think my eyebrows are just FAB ! Haha ) Pedicurist was much nicer though, but she barely clipped my cuticles. She only filed my toes. WTF ?! According to her, my nails looked good to begin with. Uhhhh...fail ! On the plus side, the massage was decent.This is a convenient place for me to go to since it's close to him and at a shopping center where I can get my errands done. I just wish the quality was better here. As for my mani, well that was a little better, but the crappy massage (felt like 5 seconds !) I got was not worth my money. I think I paid $37 which is $7 more than the other nail salon I go to and they do a much better job in my opinion. I have been going to this salon for almost 2 years. This is the highest quality mani/pedi. The chairs are very comfortable and they are very customer centric. I like every artist in the salon and they always remember your name. You can tell they all enjoy working together and this is all directed to the owner who also will take on the toughest challenges. She does my feel which after years of high heels in manhattan are not the easiest. All the work lasts and is of highest quality which for me is very appreciated. I have been having a tough personal and professional time of it so it is a great haven to walk into the salon and be treated so well. I will never go anyplace else in San Diego. read more

I've been coming here for awhile now, even though it's a bit of a drive because of the amazing service. It's a very clean professional environment. This place is where I got get my ME time. It's my sanctuary. I feel so pampered and taken care of when I'm there. Angel is a true artist when it comes to nail design. I get stopped and asked where I get my nails done every single time. I post pics on my social media because Angel's artistry is that brag-worthy and without fail, I get asked where I get my nails done. I've referred many family friends and coworkers who have all become loyal clients. Because I'm there regularly, I feel like I'm part of the family and they all treat me as such. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review but I dont want anyone to have the unfortunante experience I did so long story short, go elsewhere for your mani pedi! The woman who runs the opperation started my service which I had an apt for, then 5 minutes into it, she welcomed in 3 walk in customers which there clearly wasn't staff for so what should have been a relaxing service turned in to me watching her run around trying to help all three of us at once. Everything was so rushed to the point where she was physically hurting me and clipped my skin causing an injury. She missed steps in my service and when I kindly pointed it out, she spoke about me in another language to the lady working on my toes. i was SO uncomfortable and honestly just wanted to get up and leave mid service. read more

That got us in the door and sitting down. Then the crabby nail lady came in. Man, she was crabby. Probably the best manicure you can get in the Rancho Penasquitos area! I got a gel manure done by Kathy and I am very satisfied. And it was $30 which is very reasonable. I wanted to like this place because it's so close to my work & I need a nail salon to go to weekly on my lunch break, however it didn't work out that way. My gel manicure started snagging/peeling within 4 days which I have never had happen before. I also had several fingernails with little bubbles underneath the clear top gel coat. My gel pedicure was enjoyable & did hold up nicely for several weeks now which is great, but that's usually the case regardless of where you go. I found this place to be overpriced for the value received and unfortunately (for them & me), I will not be going back. Side Note: I also noticed another customer getting a gel pedicure to my right. This woman had to have one of her big toes completely redone because the pedicurist bumped it with her gel light machine. She had to wait another 15 minutes to have the recently applied gel removed/scraped off/sanded and then 3 coats reapplied. No apology was given ... what if she needed to be somewhere? It was awkward. All I know is I felt bad for her and would've been pissed. read more

Quality of service has never been consistent. First off, my nails one time will look great and the next time after a fill, I will leave there and there are bubbles in the gel. The Manager, Ana, talks very loudly when she is doing her fills and many times has nicked me with the blazer of a file. There is way too much chatting that goes on and many times they are screaming to each other across the room This is supposed to be a time for relaxation and instead I feel more stressed when I leave there. The only reason I kept going back is because it was convenient.......UNTIL..... Today, there was a black blob on my nail after she put the gel on and she huffed and puffed having to remove the gel only to leave more file marks. I asked her to redo the nail, and she R E F U S E D!! She said "It will take too long and you only pay me $35.00" which is way overpriced as it is.---I told her that this was very bad customer service. She told me that I should leave the spa and not come back. I don't get it....when you pay for a service, you should be treated with a little bit of dignity. This is one nail spa that I will not be revisiting.....and it's just as well. read more

Switched to this salon for my bi-monthly mani/pedi (always gel polish) about a year ago. Kim is my favorite manicurist and now the only one I will use! For pedicures, most of the girls are great! The service is great, place is clean and sanitized between clients (like it should be!), and the massages are a bit longer than elsewhere. :) If you're in a hurry, I don't recommend this place. It's a "sit back, relax, and feel pampered" kind of place. It only got 4 stars from me because the girls spend a lot of time chatting to each other in a language other than English, and when I have tried to communicate with them, it is a little difficult. Kim's English is pretty good though. :) Walk-in wait times are usually very short (under 10 minutes) but I do suggest calling ahead if you want an appt with Kim. read more

Came here years ago and didn't get to writing a review. But it must've not impressed me because I hadn't been back; and I live only a few miles away. I've since been going to another place in 4S. Decided to stop here because I had some free time, needed ny nails done, but couldn't make it to my usual spot. I'm really impressed and completely enjoyed myself. The colors are so neatly arranged. It was peaceful and quiet; usually I can't even hear myself think at a nail salon. Manager asked if I needed a magazine or water. Pedicurist gave me the most AMAZING massage! My sister found this place a few years ago & told me about it! I've been coming here occasionally ever since! I drive from north Rancho Bernardo just for the awesome pedi!! I know it's not that far of a drive but there is a nail salon directly across the street from my house so coming to Torrey Nails is out of the way but completely worth it!! Today I had a European pedicure which was reasonable priced at $37. Pretty standard for that type of pedi. The best part is that the nail technician took her time & gave me the most amazing massage! I never felt like she was rushing to get through my pedicure. She even used warm lotion which felt so great with the cold winter weather!The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars is that the lotion has a very strong floral smell that lasts for hours afterwards and kinda gave me a headache. Worst gel Polish EVER. Thought I'd give this place a shot since it's next to my work. The lady was really rough with me, digging her nail into the side of my nail beds to remove the gel. It was clumpy, uneven and bubbly, since it was white Polish, it now looks like there are dirt spots all over my nails. I complained and she just sat there starting at me blankly. It would have helped if she would have at least taken off tbe existing polish before painting on top for my manicure. Overpriced in comparison to other nail salons in SD, felt extremely rushed, had to ask for flip flops after she asked me to move from the chair so she could seat someone else. When I walked in, all the ladies in the back just stared at me. I basically had to ask for help, and when one of the ladies asked what I wanted I answered that I wanted a fill and no one replied. After waiting for what seemed like a whole minute I asked where do I go and finally one of the ladies waived me over. The actual fill was not bad, but not worth what I paid for, because a few hours after, they started to bubble. They accept credit cards, but do not let you tip on the tip line. Save your time and money. I've been there a few times when I needed to get my nails done quickly and every time I regret giving them another chance. The staff are rude and disrespectful. When I asked the lady to clean up the mess around my nail, she started to show mean faces and talk in their language with other staff which ended up at laughing at me. Service is another story. I do my nails much better than this salon. Right after doing my nails, my friend asked me if I want to get a manicure in a few days! she couldn't believe I just had a manicure. When I asked for a french manicure, the quality was so bad that you could see impurities in the polish. I asked them to make the top white part look better, she said that only one layer is enough even if it doesn't look white at all! not sure why they are the most expensive one in the area read more

I find this place to have some of the best customer service at a nail salon. They are quick to get you in but not quick to rush you out. I am always on a tight schedule and because of the space and how many people they have working there I am always able to get a mani and pedi at the same time. It's clean, and they have great quality chairs and the BEST selection of colors. This is my go to nail salon. Save yourself...run away!!! I made the mistake of going here b/c my regular nail salon is closed on Sundays and I was in desperate need of a pedicure. Well, I should have just waited!! This was, by far, the worst pedicure I have ever had in my life! The "massage" was basically pouring some oil on my legs and letting it soak while she scrubbed the sink below my feet! I wish I could say that was the worst part, but then she CUT me! And didn't even stop to ask if I was okay. And I'm not talking a little nic...I was bleeding all over the towels! But the absolutely worst part?!? I actually paid $23 for this torture treatment. Shame on me for paying, but I really just wanted to get the heck out of there while all ten of my toes were still attached. When it's time for the mani/pedi, you want a clean, relaxing place where they don't always try the upsell on the services. This is it. Close to home and good too boot. I have never asked for the same person, just whoever's available when I walk in the door. But this place does the job right. They've got a pretty salon with well kept massage chairs to sit in while you're getting that spa pedicure. If memory serves, I pay $35 for spa mani/pedi.
