I was in desperate need of new clothes. After visiting a seamstress, I called ahead to see if Torrid carried my bra and pant sizes. I needed the essentials and felt completely overwhelmed. Heather was incredibly kind over the phone, and when I arrived, I was in complete shambles. I hadn't been to a clothing store in years and was so worried I wouldn't find anything that fit. Over the past year or so, I've gained a significant amount of weight and felt hopeless. As soon as I walked in, Heather greeted me with a warm smile and I broke down in tears. Embarrassed and sobbing, I was met with nothing but kindness. Heather quickly found me a seat, handed me tissues, and gently reassured me that it was okay to cry. She gave me a moment to gather myself, and when I was ready, she asked what I needed. I explained that I was looking for bras and pants and apologized for my emotions. I told her that with the weight gain, none of my clothes fit anymore and my confidence had taken a serious hit. Heather got to work right away. Though the bra we found was close, it wasn't quite the right fit. Before going on her break, she introduced me to Ariel, who stepped right in and asked thoughtful questions my favorite colors, preferred sleeve lengths, and general style to get a sense of what I liked. When I mentioned I was worried they might not have my size, she immediately did a full sweep of the store, searching high and low to find pieces she thought would work for me, even digging through the clearance racks to help me stay within my budget. By the time Heather returned, it felt like a perfectly choreographed dance. They worked together seamlessly while still attending to other customers bringing me item after item, taking the "no" pieces and swapping them with new options until we found what worked. It was like having a personal styling team that genuinely cared. I ended up with a whole new wardrobe, including the essentials I came in for, and even a few unexpected favorites. But what I didn't expect and what I truly needed most was to be reminded that I'm still beautiful in the skin I'm in. Heather and Ariel helped me see that it's okay to embrace my body as it is right now. I left not just with new clothes, but with renewed confidence and a deeper sense of self-love. I have purchased from Torrid for 18 years now and I am very happy with the quality and sizing of their clothes. I wish they would open one in Sierra Vista, AZ. I miss going into the store to see how they have the clothes styled. The closest one to me now is 1.5 hours away. They are great about returning items. Their sizes range from medium size 10 to 5 or 6x. Great style also in larger sizes. read more

I went into Torrid at the loop today 30 minutes before closing with a friend and the employees there had the best customer service I have ever experienced, I just had to give them recognition and that is why I'm here. After 2 hours and 31 items later Rafaelina and Kimberly were still helping her with so much patience and energy. Rafaelina literally helped her pick out items, gave advise and walk her through why she should or shouldn't get certain items. At the end of the night 2 hours after closing they were still helping her with all the patience in the world. She had a budget and went over it and they stood there helping her get back to her budget. Her card then declined and they called customer service again with all the patience in the world and helped her with her situation once again. These two women literally have the most amazing customer service ever. They are caring, understanding, and patient. read more

I was visiting and I needed a few things. So today 5/13/21 I walked in, I was noticed by 3 employees who looked my way and they all decided to ignore me. I shopped around carrying the clothes I was going to purchase. Never was I asked, would you like to put the clothes up front or asked if I needed help. Not a single word was said to me until the girl behind the counter noticed the pile I was carrying and I put them on the counter. My total was $225.00. Yes, I carried around $225 worth of clothes and not one word from any employees. What a shame. It goes without saying, Customer Service is lacking??? Do I know why all 3 ignored me, no. But I definitely have a feeling why. Will I go back, absolutely not! Will I recommend shopping there, absolutely not! I love how clean the store is and the selection of clothing, but the three stars are because rarely do they have jeans in my size. I have to wear petite/short style pants otherwise the legs are so baggy, yet it seems that they don't ever have black trousers or black jeans in petite/short. Also, I like a bootcut or flare and they only give one bootcut option in denim. The employees remind me that I can find more online but I'm the type that has to try it on because it seems like every piece fits differently. So it would be so much better having more sizes in the stores itself. Lastly, I think they need to staff the stores with more employees. Preferably a stylist with good fashion sense. read more

I had the best time at this location today! I was looking for a fun and flirty dress for a night out on the town with my hubby. Shopping for an item like this is extremely difficult for a plus size woman. Even more so for me as I am postpartum as well! I was surprised when I walked in and saw all the amazing clothes and dresses they had in store! Mind you, the last time I was in a Torrid it was along the lines of Hot Topic for the fluffy! I am really happy that has changed! I was also shocked to see so many cute items on clearance! I was in between two dresses and asking the sales team for their input (they were all so amazing) and come to find out they were both on clearance AND clearance was buy one get one for FREE! Whaaaat?!!!! So I literally got two beautiful dresses that make me feel amazing for less than $50.00!! Consider me Shook Torrid! Can't wait to shop with you again! read more

This is my favorite Torrid. Every sales associate has been super friendly and helpful when I shop here. They make a point to greet you when you enter the store, introduce themselves by name, and tell you about the current sales. Most of the girls have great style and will help you put an outfit together or give you suggestions for what to wear with a certain article of clothing if you're clueless about fashion. It's also one of the more organized locations I've visited. Other Torrid stores have their clearance racks jumbled together and half the stuff is dangling off the hanger or on the floor. Here, the clothes are arranged neatly and conveniently in size-order. Last but certainly not least, their jeans have the best fit for curvy and plus size women. My friend and i were looking for a semi formal dress.... Jerica, was very very helpful and we didnt like a set that was set up so we did a mix and match. We were in and out in like 20 min which is awesome because we had a small child with us. And she gave us the military discount!!!! we enjoyed our trip there and left with what we need and were not "pushed" into buying more or spending more time (which i know all of us appreciate in the hard economic times). Torrid is my go to store when I am going to a special even and want to look nice. The 4 star is because everytime I go I rarely find my size in everything I pick out. I'm a 20-22 and jeans are always out of that size (at least the styles I select) and sometimes the tops. I often leave with nothing. I do love the quality of the clothes and they might be a bit pricey but they last a long time. The ladies are always nice. The store is a bit small and the checkout line can get over crowded but this location is still my favorite store. read more

I LoVE this store. Always leave feeling great! Rushed in this morning to try and find something to wear to a baby shower I was helping to host , and I was tired of the same old clothes I had in my closet. With help from the staff ( I forget her name!!! I know, I'm awful) I left in head to toe torrid fashion ( literally head to toe... I find the service of this place is pretty good; never had a problem getting help or finding an item. My 3 star rating is for the change in quality of clothing. It seems like there company has changed to flimsy material. What once would stay in my closet for years is now turned to a 2 to 6 month life span. The jeans seem to fall apart at the zipper or making the jean material too tight. I am not a large women by far but I am a size 14 and want to be comfortable; Nothing confining or strict around the belly. Instead making there shirts comfy now there tight and body forming; that is not a plus size store. I guess I will have to start shopping at Lane Bryant. read more

Being a bigger girl it's always been a struggle to find outfits and they always had plus size spots but with frumpy frocks I couldn't bare to display but torrid has brought my inner style out for full bloom. Based on the majority of the reviews, you'd probably expect to find a bunch of beezies behind the counter, but I've never run into that problem.The ladies here have been very helpful in finding certain items for me (either requested over the phone or in the store). The only gripe I have about this certain location is the choice of clothing. The store seems to be very small and they don't really carry many styles of dresses. If I'm not feeling lazy, I prefer the Torrid location at the Mission Valley mall. read more

SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!! This is the worst location I have ever been to, & I've been to locations in 6 states!! I'm not surprised considering this store is at Parkway, though. The salesgirls are always standing behind the counter discussing the pro's & con's of going to the food court or Pat & Oscar's for lunch. I always end up standing around for 5 mins waiting for them to open up a dressing room or ring me up. When they do get around to helping you, they are rude with attitudes &/or giving nasty looks to everyone. The only reason I even go to this store is if the website is out of my size or I really don't want to pay for the shipping. If you have the extra time/gas, make the trip to the MISSION VALLEY store, because while they're not all that spectacular either, it's at least a 50/50 chance you'll get better service. read more

I have found everything I need in this store. From the perfect Bra, to jeans that fit just right, as well as shoes made for me, and even a good suit to wear to work. The service is always wonderful, I am greeted everytime I walk in and the ladies are more than happy to follow me around or help me out anytime. I was doing last minute Christmas shopping online (two days before!) & called this location to check for an item before heading over. The girl who answered the phone was beyond helpful. Despite being busy she found the item& size I was looking for even checking their backroom when she didn't spot it on the floor. When I went in for pickup she maintained this excellent level of customer service by helping me shop for a sweater appropriate for my aunt. I usually decide to walk into the store when a sale is going on, so I never leave unsatisfied. Torrid makes clothes that feel my age and my style rather than other stores who offer my size in things that I see women 20+ years older wearing. The staff at this particular location are attentive and helpful. I have never felt unwelcome or waited too long for assistance. My only complaint is that unless I do catch a sale, I can't afford much on my student budget, but thank goodness for their clearances racks! read more

This is my favorite torrid location! I adore torrid and love to visit the parkway plaza location. The store is beautiful and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. They actually seem like they love their jobs which we know can be difficult in retail!. I never feel rushed and the staff is very informative without being pushy or annoying. The store is very clean and well organized and the dressing rooms are very nice and have tons of room for organizing the yes and no pile and even have fans u can change the speed of -very nice touch. I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service I received at this Torrid today. I came in on my lunch break, with limited time, and money to spend. I wandered around for probably 10 minutes, and gathered quite a few items to try on, and no one came over to offer me a room or take my items while I was looking. That's usually a standard at Torrid. After seeing another girl with her arms full of clothes waiting for a room as well, I went up to the register to ask one of the girls to open a room. Both were ringing up customers, one told me when she was done she'd come open a room. I stood with my arms full things to try on, and waited for a room. I get a room, and the girl asks my name, then leaves. When she walked by again I asked if they don't hang up the clothes in the rooms anymore, and she said "oh we do, we're just a little busy, sorry". So I spend about 15+ mins trying on clothes, and decide I just don't want to spend my money here anymore. When I was on my way out, I see this guy, he was kinda lingering around the register area while I was shopping) drinking smoothies with one of the girls at the register. At this point she sees me leaving and asks if I had any luck. I said not really, and that no one ever came to check on me either. I told them to have a nice day. And went back to work with a wasted lunch break and no new pants. read more
