As far as clothes go they are exceptional and I usually have a great experience when I come to this store. Yesterday Friday Evening I stopped in about 6pm. There was one worker in there. No greeting, no how can I help you or offer any promotions. Okay that's fine. After browsing a bit I had to go find her to ask for a dressing room. Took me to the dressing room didn't introduce herself or ask if I needed anything else and walked away. After trying my things on I walked to the register area and stood there a good three or four minutes as the employee folded clothes until I finally said I am ready to check out and I have an exchange. I came with my sister, who was looking for undergarments for her son's wedding. For the moment, as we stepped through the door, we were warmly greeted by the staff. Once we reached the undergarment area, we were personally greeted by Em. She measured my sister, set up a dressing room, and aided her throughout the process from start to finish. Literally the worst torrid store. They have the rudest employees every single time I go in. I shop online mostly to avoid going to the store but sometimes wanna go try stuff on but the workers act like it's the end of the world if you wanna try stuff on and ask for help. Every time they have a problem with my email, saying I can't use rewards or my torrid cash or get the points for the transaction because they don't wanna just change the email or do extra work. I finally decided to buy the pink jacket I really wanted and I got a great deal on it! It was a Valentine's Day special. Destiny helped me out! She was very helpful and awesome! I don't give lots of reviews, but this is by far the worst experience I've had. I went shopping with my mom over the weekend. We were greeted by the employees, and after being in the store for 5 minutes,we started sweating. I felt like I was melting, I asked if their AC was working, and she said it was down. They had fans, but it was only circulating hot air. I couldn't even try on clothes. The clothes also smell like mildew. The store it's self smell mildew and so dry. My mom started to get a headache from the heat, and we didn't purchase anything. I'm very disappointed. I was so excited to go buy clothes for our upcoming vacation. If we couldn't even be there for 15 minutes, I couldn't imagine their poor employees having to deal with that all day. 8/11/2024- I'm not sure what's happening but there is a sign on the door that says that they will be open in 30 minutes... it's been over 45 and they are not opening the door there's another sign that says they're closing at 5:00 instead of 7:00. They are also not answering the phone... there's a line of people standing outside and I have decided to walk away. It is bad for business... provide service to your customers or at least come to the door and let everybody know what's going on. read more

As a business owner, I absolutely HATE leaving negative reviews. I wasn't going to say anything because I felt maybe I was just angry and offended by the nasty sales associate working there. I even waited a couple of days to write this so I can cool off. But you know what? I'm still offended! I went in as soon as the store opened. I saw a sweater and some jeans on the window display that I just had to have. I couldn't find either anywhere in the store. So naturally, I asked for help. And she (I say "she" because she had no name tag on and wouldn't answer me when I asked for her name) pointed and said, "those are over there." Now mind you, Torrid moved to a much smaller location and the clothes are STUFFED and very hard to find now. There is no organization. There is no section. Nothing. So when she said, "over there" which is where I came from, I asked her to help me again, since I had already checked. So she, instead went to her computer and said, "there's 3 left in that size, so it WILL be over there." So I went back to check again. This time with help from my husband and my 14 year old daughter. And went back to her after NONE of us found it. Not the style, not the size, NOTHING. And what did we get? "If it's not there, then we don't have anymore. Would you like me to call another store to see if it's there?" Didn't even bother to try. Normally this wouldn't bother me as much, but we shop there once a month and we spend $300-$500 each time there. I'd never, ever seen this rude girl before. "Ok well screw the pants. What about the sweater?" Dude. If I could show you how far her eyes rolled to the back of her head......she wasn't even discreet about it. It was followed by the loudest "HUUUUFFFF! Follow me." And then slapped the sleeve and said, "here." Then walked away. "JEEZUS WOMAN. I'm 5'1" and I can't reach that! That's like 7' in the air!" Did she come back? NOPE. She went to the register and got on the phone. "Are you serious?" My husband immediately said, "let's go. We will get it online." And we did. And it was so much easier to find everything I was looking for. He spent over $600 online on my clothes. FINAL NOTE: Guess what girl-with-a-nasty-attitude, you need to know that stores like yours are closing down everywhere. Malls are getting abandoned. Look up 'abandoned malls' online. That's gonna be you. And when the day comes that you can't find another 'no experience needed' 'minimum wage' retail job that rude, uneducated people like you qualify for, you're gonna remember me and surely regret rolling your eyes and treating me the way you did. One of the associates there has a nasty attitude, for my luck she is there working every time I go and she gives me a nasty up and down look. Im talking about the one associate that thinks shes the shit, the one with the ramen noodle looking hair that wears dramatic make up. She gives the store a ghetto vibe. I love the clothes here but unfortunately the associates and especially the manager are so rude. I purchased a sweater on line but it was too long so I went to the Plaza Bonita store to exchange it for something else. I remember you were able to exchange something for the same exact price as the ticket as long as I had the receipt but this was not the case. The RUDE manager told me she would exchange it for the exact same item in a different size but not for another item. I ended up returning it all together and buying something else. It sucks because this is the closest Torrid to my house. I guess I will be driving farther to another Torrid. I also asked it they will be having a Black Friday sale and she replied NO, Everything is already buy 4 items and get 40% off. My sister and I looked at each other after the manager rolled her eyes to us. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don't know but it was very uncomfortable. Contrary to popular belief, not all fat girls are mean and'll "sit on ya." However, some of the employees at this Torrid seem like they will. Torrid is fat girl fashion. Way back when it started it was Plus Size Hot Topic. The affiliation is the same, style has changed. I must admit, there are some cute items there but can be quite pricey. If you have your heart set on something, wait a few weeks. I guarantee it'll be chucked to the clearance rack. Sometimes their clearance is not bad, but I found a bigger selection at the Torrid in Mission Valley. Some of the quality isn't great and I recommend it if you want it ripped off your body. The bras gave me uber boobs (not diggin' it), jewelry fit my plump wrists and fingers and stockings gave me sexy legs. I gravitate towards tops and dresses and have only found 1 skirt that's ever fit me right. Score! There's an AWESOME gay man working there. He's even tried on some of the clothing! If you see him, definitely ask him for fashion advice. He's honest, cool and not stuck up like some of the other employees. The staff here are amazingly sweet and informative, I love coming in. The company, however, should really invest in a new register system. I usually come here when I can't find it at the Mission Valley mall. I end up calling them first to have them hold something for me. The same as all torrid stores however the staff here seem to be a little unhappy. They ask if you need help but then might as well not speak to you because you can tell they really don't want to. Horrible service. Took wife there because niece works there. Not only was our niece, helping us out on the count that wife is disabled, but she was also enthusiastically helping out other customers. The other "ladies" that worked there were not only rude towards us, but towards our niece. One of the women that worked there, whom I can only imagine to be a manager, or of lead position named Gabby, very loudly and disturbing, in front of all the customers, yelled out to have our niece work the back out of everyone's view. Then they proceeded to keep us waiting in line to pay, and then, the cashier leaves, only to be told we were next. The cashier came back with an "oh, were you next" stupid remark. All the while, they were going out of their way to help another customer with her purchase , which was 1 item holding up the line, while we had 7 items and my wife had no where to sit. I personally like shopping at Torrid. I used to love it move when they first opened up and they had better clothing selection of Gothic style clothes but now they still are great to shop at. They are also one of the top place that I stop to get cute plus size outfits that actually look cute and are form fitting. The staff is always helpful if you have questions. I give it a four because I personally think that they had better selection back in the day and some of the stuff all I got to stay about that is REALLY, WHO WOULD WEAR THAT but people have different tastes. read more

I turley love Torrid I've been a customer since 2003 they have the best plus size clothes super cute ! I always find what I need for any occasion !! What I mostly love about torrid is there diva dollars of $25 !! You spend $50 and you get $25 towards your next purchase !! The girls here are amazing and super friendly they make me feel like we have been friends for ever !! They are so helpful and give me great ideas of how to wear certain items !! I alrwady leave atleast with 3 items !! I went and got a shirt from the clearence rack and got the second item for $5 dollars I was so happy I came out with 6 items !!!
