How do you visit LA and not eat at a food truck?…read more Luckily, I stumbled on to this gem on Hollywood Blvd across from the W hotel. Not knowing what to expect I decided to support this truck. It was after several drinks so I knew exactly what I wanted, some burgers, wings and fries. I tried the sliders with bacon, and the teriyaki wings with the fries. It was delicious and hit the spot. The guy in the truck who I'm assuming was the owner, promised that the food was going to be ready in exactly 4 minutes. I don't know why he felt the need to put himself under such a tight time constraint. My expectations change once he said this. I found myself growing impatient once it eclipsed 4 mins. Expectations is everything. Other than that, everything was good. A bit pricey..$13 for 6 wings and fries, but I guess that price is relative and depends on where you are from and what you are use to paying.

Once my friend realized the payment hadn't gone through, she immediately went back inside and politely explained what had happened because she wanted to make it right. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the cashier became aggressive and accused her of stealing. My friend was extremely embarrassed and upset, especially because she is a local resident who has consistently supported this business. Mistakes happen, but there's a respectful way to handle them. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning. I would encourage others to consider supporting another local business that values and respects its customers.

Each taco is regularly priced at $4. They allow you to order different kinds of meat per order, which is nice, but they didn't have oxtail at this time. :( The beef brisket was good, but again, a tad on the salty side. For sides, I tried the plantain chips and sweet potato fries. The plantain chips were not chips at all, but fried plantains, which were delicious, but we expected chips. Recently, the Mrs. and I came here after a Mountain Goats concert at the Natural History Museum at about 10:30 on a Friday night. My favorite thing to get here is definitely the torta. They have one of the best in my opinion. I always get the asada. I do like their carnitas as well. Keep in mind they leave everything in it (skin, cartilage...etc) so if you don't like texture you should pass. If you're wondering about the birria, it's a yes! Always yummy and delicious. The taco size is pretty decent and they don't skimp on meat portions. The biggest drawback was the amount of grease. The tacos were drenched in grease and the consome was basically inedible because it felt like I was dipping an already greasy taco into more grease. That said, I would be hard pressed to give them another chance.
