Tried this restaurant for the first time with a coworker of mine at work through door dash and I was so impressed that I had to take my family out to eat the very next day took a 35 minute drive and ordered the exact same thing! When I say the food and drinks are so delicious. It was definitely worth the drive. My family also agreed. The food was hot and fresh and the green sauce that came with it was so refreshing and spicy. We enjoyed every bit of it. We will definitely be back for more. A hidden treasure. Family owned. Really authentic Mexican food, like I enjoyed in California. The soups are wonderful. Everything I've eaten here has been very good. I had the food delivered so I can only review the food at this time. I ordered the beef quesobirria tacos and the shrimp ceviche. The ceviche was tasty, not too spicy, but I would have liked more shrimp (most places that I've had ceviche have provided a TON of shrimp). The tacos did not have as much cheese as I'm used to on quesobirria tacos but the meat was tender and juicy and somehow the tortillas shell were still crispy and not soggy at all, even after being transported. We ordered a simple meal on their website for delivery. After an hour, we called the restaurant to figure out the reason for the delay. The person answering the phone would not tell us anything about the status of our order and kept hanging up on us. The only response we got was "Call menustar, I don't know," over and over. After an hour and half, our food showed up on the doorstep, now cold. This is without the doubt the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! I would say it's just okay. We started with the cheese dip which was very watery and the horchata which was good. My husband really liked his steak fajitas which came out piping hot. I had 2 carne asada tacos and 1 with carnitas with beans and rice as well as the menudo. The tacos were cold and the soup was okay. Probably won't be going back again. It was delicious in every way, my order was correct and the service was stellar! They used good ingredients, the meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection. Slightly blackened but not over cooked. This is my brother and niece's favorite Mexican Spot and I can see why. They have a very tasty white cheese dip that is smooth and rich with flavor. Also the salsa taste very fresh and has a kick to it so be ware. For dinner I ordered a couple of carnitas tacos( Little small street tacos) and a couple of tamales. I wish my brother would have warn me how big the tamales were. I would have just ordered one. The pork tamales were good although they were a little heavy on the masa but delicious nevertheless. So after I destroyed my tantalizing tacos and my terrific tamales and chips and dip I forgot all about the chicken quesadilla I ordered. Now I wish I had taken a picture of this ginormous mound of quesadilla but alas I didn't. I was way too full from all the other food I had ate so I had to take it home. From the outside, it looks like a convenience store in a bad neighborhood where you can maybe cash your paycheck in lieu of visiting a bank. When you get inside, the atmosphere is completely different than you might think it'd be. It's quite warm and inviting! You're welcomed by the staff when you walk in and they tell you to take your seat. The service was really good until we had our food delivered. Then it was sparse-to-non-existent. I had the Carne Asada dinner, which came with a chicken enchilada, rice, beans, and tortillas. The steak was a little hard to cut, honestly, but once it was in your mouth, it chewed just fine. It's like having your butt kicked by flavor, a fiesta for the ages in your mouth! The beans were better than I'm used to at other Mexican restaurants as well. Their salsa is very serous: very few, small chunks at the bottom of a bowl of liquid. It tastes good, but there's basically no texture to it. read more
