Really great coffee but pricey. I would give them 5 stars if their large sized lattes were actually large and didn't cost almost $7.

Why anyone would stop at Starbucks when Tortoni is 35 steps away is a mystery to me. The coffee at Tortoni is better. It's owned by wonderful people. The pastries and empanadas are to die for and the atmosphere is calming. It's my favorite Valley business. read more

Everything is perfectly perfect at this cafe. The two women who worked the counter were welcoming, informative, and patient. The coffee (we got a cappuccino and a latte) was high quality and smooth. This is my first stop whenever I am in town!!! It is the best latte I've had in LA... and I have spent a lot of money on LA lattes. My favorite is an iced almond milk latte but they have whatever drink/milk alternative you want. Go and try it out! read more

I have visited Tortoni twice now and truly can not recommend it more! Finally a great "mom and pop" feel coffee spot walking distance from a lot of homes in Sherman oaks! Their coffee is excellent, and their kale mushroom quiche is definitely worth trying. The service is amazing as they welcome you with a warm smile and treat you as a friend coming into their home. They also have a very dog friendly patio with fresh water out in dog bowls. I'm looking forward to becoming a regular here :). read more

Finally went to this place and we just love it. The coffee and pastries are excellent. The quiche was amazing and the service was superior. I love coming to a neighborhood coffee shop with friendly staff, a great atmosphere and excellent quality coffee and tea beverages. Tortoni epitomizes that and more. Not only does staff care about the integrity of their coffee and tea, but they want the customer to be satisfied. With a beautiful decor and excellent coffee/tea drinks as well as empanadas, Tortoni Caffe is a great new spot in Sherman Oaks. Seating is at a premium but once there, you will not want to leave. Mary, one of the baristas, was extremely patient and engaged in great conversation during a recent visit. She made the experience fun! Top coffee place in Sherman Oaks hands down. I usually get the regular drip coffee and it's off the charts. They strictly work with local growers, roasters, and bakers so the cafe in itself has a tremendous community feel. The interior decor reminds me of a mix between modern Paris and boho chic LA. Based on the reviews I read, brought my friend, who is an absolute black coffee fiend (as in "black, no room"), in to sample the coffee. He had an Iced Cold Brew. He loved it! He was very happy that the coffee was strong! We also sampled the spinach, chicken and beef empanadas. They were very tasty. We both felt the beef one was the tastiest. I had an cold brew Iced tea.
