I left lunch hungry and with little time to spare before tarpon springs closed its businesses for the night. there were several bakeries on the area's main drag, which were (literally) lined up out the door. while the goods inside looked tasty from the outside, lunch now had me all the wiser. a long line and an appealing window display offered no insight on the taste of the goods inside. I found national bakery nestled on a little side road. there was no line, no frills. when you step inside, though, you'll be greeted by a baker who has been serving fantastic baked goods with superior customer service at incredibly fair prices -for decades. the woman who helped us was SO incredibly friendly. she stayed open late just to answer our questions about the area -after having already served us some of the most delicious baked goods I've ever had. I'd recommend going for the goodies, the friendly conversation, and old world atmosphere. skip the lines and overpriced, overhyped "show" goods.... spend your money and time on food you won't forget.

It was very neat to see how the pastries and breads were Made, and the old table built into the ground. The baklava (and all the other pastries we picked up) were delightful.

We had lunch at Hella's this afternoon and it was delicious!…read more We had saganaki as a starter and it was too delicious to remember to take a picture first but they light it on fire at your table so that's definitely a fun experience I had a Greek salad, which of course comes with potato salad under the lettuce and it was phenomenal. Fresh ingredients, the right amount of dressing - easily the best Greek salad I've had in a long time. My husband got a classic gyro and he says it was really good. The meat was super tender, pita was soft / you can tell it's made fresh and the tzatziki topped it off perfectly! Our service was fast, friendly, and efficient and the whole vibe of the restaurant is just a good time. They were busy (obviously it was lunch on a Saturday!) but we didn't feel rushed and didn't even have to wait the full time we were quoted for a party of 6. The next time we're in the area, we'll absolutely be back (I wish I would've gotten another Greek salad to bring home for dinner)

If I could give this a 10 star review, I would! My mom has told me about this restaurant previously…read moreso when we were in the area before we went to the airport, we decided to check it out. It's decorated in old world Greek style with plenty of servers ready to create a wonderful experience. Our server came over to get our drink orders and answer any questions. After she brought us our drinks, she gave us the complementary bread with the olive oil dipping sauce. Superb! We decided to share the Greek salad for one or two. This is the traditional Greek salad that includes potato salad on the bottom and the lettuce, ripe tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and pepperoncini's on top. The Greek dressing was just perfection! I've only been able to find this traditional Greek salad in Tarpon Springs. We shared the Gyro platter. It included the pita, meat, tomatoes, and onions as well as rice and we believe peas. It was delicious! It was fun that each of us could build our own pita to our liking. The desserts looked amazing but we needed to get up to the airport to go back home. We will definitely try them the next time.
