As a previous Washingtonian, Toscano's often ends up being a meeting point on my trips home to meet White River classmates and other Seattle-area friends. It's not all the way up the hill, but doesn't involve driving into a city. Fair compromise. Other restaurant features teeter between good and "eh". The good: Drinks. The cocktails are fun and varied, with fresh infused-style drinks (cucumber-basil, very refreshing!) and warm, comforting treats (some reindeer Christmas-themed special was one of the best desserts I had all season). If you're hitting happy hour, oh who are we kidding, ANY time is good to enjoy a Toscano's cocktail. The eh: The food runs the gamut from all right to pretty good, but I haven't had anything knock my socks off and make me drive three hours up to have it again. Last time I was there, I had a vodka and crab pasta that was pretty good, but the house salad was poorly dressed. The service can be a little inattentive at times, but isn't terrible. The bad: Prices. Too high for the portions and quality of the food. read more

The food is always good but the service always sucks. So far 30 min for the waitress to take the order; going on an hour to get the food. And the bread is a no-show. We really enjoy coming here, but it seems they just can't get their staffing right. Even the manager was out trying to assist with getting orders filled. Our dinner came after we'd been there about 1.5 hours, but it was delicious and did not taste like it had been sitting in the kitchen waiting on the waitress; it was hot out of the oven tasting. Went once and have never returned. I liked their wine selection and enjoyed the appetizers. I was blown away by how terrible the entrees were! I ordered a tuna dish and it tasted like they warmed up something from the Gordon's fisherman in the microwave. You can't charge that kind of money to heat up something for me in the microwave! I drive by everyday after work. I have always wanted to stop and give this place a try. So tonight my husband and I were on a date night. We entered the restaurant and waited and waited for 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The bartender looked at us with no words of hello. A few waitresses walked by with not a word. We still waited. One of the servers who had already walked by with her nose in the air finaly came to the podium to great us. She said do you have a reservation? We said no. Ok that will be another 5 to 10 minutes before we can seat you. All the while the restaurant had two tables with customers seated. The patio had a few customers there as well. So we waited for another 5 minutes and said nah we can go next door to Mama Stortini's and get the best of service or put up with this. So we choose to spend our money elsewhere. read more

I personally have enjoyed eating at Toscano's Cafe & Wine bar, they make some very good martini's and I always enjoyed the clam's. However, my mom, dad & I decided to eat there one evening, outside dining, and the chair my mom was sitting in gave way, leaving my mom on the ground and as dad was getting up to assist my mom an other guest came over to offer assistance... NOBODY actually WORKING at Toscano's EVER came over to ASSIST or to ask if my mom was Ok!!!!! I was very stunned by this behavior. At the end our meal my mom was given a 20.00 gift card; again I was stunned (20.00 dollars doesn't do much for a person who's fallen on concrete due to weak outdoor chairs!) I planned to host 22 people at my husband's 70th birthday party and 48 hours prior to the event, learned that several of my guests had been exposed to Covid-19. Even though everyone had been vaccinated and boosted, I canceled the in person celebration. We dropped in without a reservation shortly before closing. Had an amazing server, Andrew, who was very knowledgeable of the menu and helpful in making recommendations. Our appetizer was martini clams, a large portion of steamed clams served in an oversized martini glass. The clams were good and the broth was excellent; we sopped as much of it up as possible with the fresh bread that was provided. My entree was veal parmigiana. I have tried this dish at numerous restaurants and the preparation at Toscanos was one of the best I have ever eaten. The veal is served in silver dollar sized medallions rather than as just one large chunk of meat and the breading is light rather than overpowering. Absolutely delicious. My companions both had oysters and were delighted with the portion size and flavor. Despite the late hour, our server didn't make us feel rushed and stopped by regularly to refill our drinks. Overall, a fine dining experience that rivals that found in a much more expensive big city restaurant. read more

Just left this place about 45 minutes ago after spending the day at a car show. Food was absolutely delicious. From the bread and dips to the proscuitto wrapped mozzarella appetizers to the chicken linguine with mushrooms, chicken parm and the service, it was worth every penny. So good in fact I didnt get a chance to take a poc of the food. Service was especially good. Will definitely visit again when in the area. read more

I go to Toscanos once in awhile and it's always pretty good but tonight I had the lamb with mushroom risotto, I rarely give meals a 10 but this meal is a 10, I strongly suggest this meal. And lastly, service is always outstanding. read more

Excellent food but the service was extremely slow, even though the restaurant was maybe 2/3rds seated. Tool 15 minutes to get our first drinks and another 20 before bread was bought out. Will hopefully try again at some point as maybe this was just an off night for service. read more

Excellent wines by the glass. Far too often Washington restaurants don't feature WA wines. We are a wine region - serve local. They had a Tranche cab and a blend from Gorman! Very pleased. Ordered the rockfish with risotto and snap peas. The fish was really good, if a bit over seasoned. The peas were perfectly al dente, but should have had the string in the pod removed - disappointing for food at this price point. The "risotto" was a disgrace. The worst I've ever had. Risotto should be creamy. At best this was just buttered rice with parsley, and very undercooked. I did not eat it, and did not feel like making a stink about it by complaining. The rest of the entree was good. Do order the rockfish, but ask for a different starch. Blackberry cheesecake was huge. We split it between two and couldn't finish it. Very, very yummy. Overall a pleasant experience. I would go back. Better than most for Puyallup. read more

It gets 2 stars and that's only because of the service which was fantastic. The food on the other hand........ While it appeared to be tasty and smelled very good. The seafood dishes gave everyone at our table insane diarrhea that is continuing into today. Plans for after dinner had to get cancelled due to one person full on exploding in their pants, thank goodness for leather seats and not cloth seats. As all of our stomachs were turning all night long, the food is not worth the aftermath nor the price, I mean who would pay for that to happen? I have been here three times recently and it has been excellent with food and service. For large groups it might be a challenge unless you arrange that in advance. The happy hour menu is nice and even though they do not mention a Pinot Grigio on that menu, they do have one! This was so perfect! My hubby and I went for a long, early dinner. We were seated promptly in the bar and our waiter was incredible from start to finish. We had one of the best appetizers we have ever had- Chantrell mushroom crostini- orgasmic! I had the artichoke stuffed chicken and hubby had the mushroom steak special.
