I have gone here for years and it has gotten worse every time. I'm most disappointed with the food and the service. Especially the drinks being that it was my 21st birthday... They served very weak drinks, overly greasy food, and the service was terrible, not surprising. To top it off we were seated in the absolute worst location, in the corner with hardly enough room for my reserved party and out of their way from what it seemed like. They over charged us for the weak drinks and It took about an hour to actually get our food after ordering. I went there today for lunch with my ol'lady friends. We had Travis for our server and he could not have done a better job. Our service was outstanding! He was very knowledgeable about the menu items which allowed us to make informed decisions. I had a Cucumber Basil martini that was just wonderful! Especially perfect for when the weather gets a little warmer. I had the Live Forever salad. It was good but the avocado dressing was not very flavorful and more like a dip than a dressing. I would probably give the food a 4 star rating. It was good but not necessarily "over the top". But the presentation of all of our dishes was very upscale and pleasing. They brought out bread and olive oil/balsamic to dip. The bread was spectacular but I am an olive oil snob and I think they could do a little better with the quality. My husband made dinner reservations here recently for Mother's Day. It was a meal I was looking forward to along with my mom, aunt and kiddos since we were all craving Italian. We decided to try this place out since our usual places were closed or completely booked. Our evening here started being sat at our table 15mins past our reservation time and then waiting another 10 mins to finally order drinks. My first impression was not good. However our waiter was polite which eased over my initial frustrations. It did take a long while to finally get our main courses, but the food was delicious. I ordered from the Mother's Day menu and had the steak and shrimp or pescatore. The food was well presented and with rustic colors and flavors. What I like about the steak were the blistered tomatoes on top with freshly ground pepper-perfecto! I however, will probably not come back here because first impressions last and there are better Italian places. read more

This restaurant is very small. The waiting area is almost non existent. I made the mistake of having dinner here with a party of ten people. This is not the restaurant for that. It was very loud in the restaurant. I really couldn't hear anybody else at the table except for the people right next to me. The prices were not that great and the food was just "okay". I think that if you are planning to eat here, make sure it is 2-4 people max. The service was pretty slow. It felt like our waiter was barely there. My honest opinion, Olive Garden is a much better value for what you get. Like I said this place is just...okay. Nicely done. Very nice wine and food. Delightful and very good service. Nice way to end a Friday. A little short on the steak in the salad and the chicken. On review my quest had me really stop and consider everything. Two people $86 of course that includes A bottle of wine a salad and Penne Chicken which was unremarkable. There was more cauliflower than chicken and under consideration the spinach with steak? 4 small slices of steak. So no not really I was just glad it was Friday. They also offer a large outdoor seating area in the summer months, that has a spectacular view of Mt Rainer. Came in for the first time during lunch, and as far as the food goes it was delicious. I had the fettuccine with chicken and the sauce was amazing. While the food was great, the customer service was not. The restaurant is supposed to open at 11:30, and they opened way later. There was a crowd of customers outside waiting prior to 11:30, myself included, but 11:30 came and there was no movement going on inside, so we weren't sure they were even going to open. A cook walked into the restaurant and we asked him about the delay and he said he wasn't sure what was going on. After that servers began setting up and would walk by the entrance, yet no one bothered to come outside and advise us about the delay. My boss who I was having lunch with had just been there the previous day and arrived FOUR mins prior to opening and was kicked out because they don't open until exactly 11:30am supposedly, yet we weren't let into the restaurant until after 11:50! I don't mind waiting, but it would have made a difference to have been acknowledged and told about the delay; other people were there on their lunch break and had to leave because it was taking so long to get let in. Once we were seated one of the managers came over and apologized, but the damage was done. As someone who is also in the customer service industry, I know that I don't want any of my customers to feel like I don't value their time, and I certainly don't like feeling that as a customer myself. read more

The restaurant is clean. We ordered seafood fettuccine, spaghetti bolognese, salad, and cheesecake based on waiter's recommendation. It took more than 30 minutes for the food to arrive even thought the restaurant is mostly empty. Fettuccine tasted great with a lot of seafood in it. Spaghetti is not bad but we had better bolognese in another place. Salad is tough to chew and very mediocre. Cheesecake isn't worth any recommendation. Overall it's an ok place. read more

I hadn't been to Toscanos for awhile. It used to be one of my favorites. I had lunch there today and was very disappointed. The soup tasted like doctored canned soup. The chicken on my husband's salad was dry and over cooked. My salad was mediocre. There was a sign on the table saying they add 3% to every bill that is divided among kitchen staff. Why don't they pay their staff more and raise their prices a bit? Is the message that they don't pay their employees enough? read more

I can't say enough about all of you. Shared a food drive with one of my great partners and friends. We were able to give a lot of non-perishable food away and enjoy Toscanos curb-side pickup. Took my wife her for lunch on Valentine's Day. I had the shrimp and scallop risotto which was great. My wife had the chicken fettuccine, which was very good. Went looking for some Italian food one night and found Toscano's. I had never heard of it, neither had my girlfriend, but we decided to give it a go. Wow, this place is phenomenal! I stuck to chef specialty and had a Blood Orange, brandy, chicken rizzoto. We decided to also try the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella and fell in love with it. Our final treat was a slice of blood orange cheesecake to split. This was one of the best cheesecakes I've tried and the slice was big enough for three people. We've found a new favorite and will be coming back for many more date nights. If you're looking for a nice place with great food and wine selections then this is the place. My husband and I just bought a house in Puyallup and we drive by this place often so we decided to give it a go. The host and or manager was a nice guy and and the wait staff was ok, I wouldn't say our server was nice but she wasn't rude. I ordered the ribeye medium well and it came back medium rare which I hate. I didn't send it back because it was very busy. Also there were flies constantly trying to land on us on the patio. And lastly the berry bread pudding I ordered to go was complete mush, I threw it away when I got home because bread pudding is not supposed to be so undercooked it's cold and you can still see the cream mixture inside. And to top it off the berries they put inside had noticeable mold on one of them. For $100 dinner I did not feel like I got my monies worth with all these issues. read more

Giving one star is generous. My daughter and I tried to go in today to purchase a gift card. We had her service dog that goes everywhere with us. When entering the restaurant I was questioned about the dog, stating that it was the 'law' to ask about service dog paperwork and he couldn't be in the restaurant. This is not true. By law you cannot ask for paperwork, you can ask if the disability requires a service animal and then ask what service he provides, but you can't say it's the law to have paperwork. There was no one in the restaurant and to be rejected service is not okay. At that point, I wasn't going to tell them we were there for a gift card. I would never give that as a gift to someone else. Sadly, what stuck with my daughter is that she was rejected because she has a disability. I'm shocked and appalled that grown adults would think this okay. Lucky for us, we went down the road to Momma Stortini's and received amazing service from Kathryn. I strongly recommend the management review the American Disabilities Act and educate their staff in discrimination before you are sued! Here is the exact wording from the ADA GENERAL RULES Q7. What questions can a covered entity's employees ask to determine if a dog is a service animal? A. In situations where it is not obvious that the dog is a service animal, staff may ask only two specific questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform? Staff are not allowed to request any documentation for the dog, require that the dog demonstrate its task, or inquire about the nature of the person's disability. Q8. Do service animals have to wear a vest or patch or special harness identifying them as service animals? A. No. The ADA does not require service animals to wear a vest, ID tag, or specific harness. Q30. What happens if a person thinks a covered entity's staff has discriminated against him or her? A. Individuals who believe that they have been illegally denied access or service because they use service animals may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice.
