This is my first time to this gym location which is in the middle of Korea Town about a 15 minute ride away from my hotel. My hotel's fitness center was just okay when I once used it. It was basically free to use, very claustrophobic to use, but extremely clean. I've been to another 24 Hour location in the suburbs near LAX just recently on another recent work visit a few weeks ago. Mid-Wiltshire's location had a a welcoming feel upon check-in, the girl working the front desk acknowledged my entrance as well as other members walking in or exiting. The gym floors are spacious, both machines and equipment are spread throughout the ground floor and second floors, an abundance of cardio equipment on one half of the upper level. Both levels couldn't receive cell signal and the WiFi was not connecting, I'm noticing that WiFi hadn't been connecting lately. But at least I had downloaded music on my iPhone to keep me energized. The only areas I didn't use were the GroupX Rooms and Spin Cycle. So much space available to stretch post work out. I can't comment on the parking situation in Korea Town as I used ride-share service to and from 24 Hour. There are several major Universities, many apartments and office buildings in the neighborhood area so the clientele is pretty diverse. This is a solid fitness center with good facilities.

This place is horrible all the way around, avoid avoid avoid at all costs

From the beginning of the service to the very end, she was extremely kind, supportive, and caring. I don't think there's an inch of me that was missed during her thorough scrub & you could feel her sweet energy throughout the experience that made it all that much better! I highly recommend requesting her. I came a little late so didn't get to enjoy the amenities but will certainly be back!

My scrub and massage were fine, but the experience in the dry sauna was not. Three women aggressively told me to remove my indoor slippers immediately. I explained I was just drying off before leaving, but they continued to insist. I have never experienced other guests enforcing rules in a spa. When I asked the front desk (a woman with long hair) whether slippers were allowed, I was first told yes. After mentioning the incident, the answer changed to no. I was then told that some members "make up their own rules" and others are expected to follow them. The inconsistent policies and member-enforced rules made the environment feel unwelcoming and poorly managed. A spa should be relaxing -- this was not.

Then this bitch hit menopause. And because apparently menopause needed a little razzle-dazzle, breast cancer joined the party. Suddenly my menopause doctor at UCLA, my medical oncologist AND my OB-GYN were all saying the same thing: Jennifer, you need to lift heavy weights. Excuse me?? I am NOT a gym girl. Gyms make me feel like everyone knows what they're doing except me. I don't want to wander around pretending I understand machinery. I need leadership. I need instructions. I need someone to lovingly bark at me and tell me what to pick up and when to put it down. Enter Orangetheory Koreatown. I texted, they invited me in, and dammit--I fell in love. The studio is super clean, easy to get to, there's FREE VALIDATED PARKING just steps away (an aphrodisiac for any Angeleno), great music and wonderful people. Tori made me feel immediately welcome, and Jasmin lovingly kicked my tush without once making me feel like the middle-aged woman who wandered into the wrong room. Turns out I don't hate lifting weights. I just needed someone to tell me what the hell to do. Literally just what the doctor ordered.

I signed up Thursday night online, received confirmation online and 7:45am time slot to arrive. I phoned and spoke to informative and friendly Christian 8pm Thursday night. He said come on through tomorrow morning just bring valid ID. Stacey said: Can't enter with 3 day pass and Christian doesn't know what he's talking about and YMCA website is incorrect??? She said " look at this one day pass that she pulled from her desk it says expires 06/01/2026. ". I replied " I didn't bring you a coupon one day pass..I signed up online and received confirmation etc etc... She held me up for close to half hour. Her coworker assisted her very quietly & after debating with her about 3 day pass validity I asked well can I use one day pass? She stalled and pretended it was Staceymca... Not cool.. I kept my cool as I really needed to use gym and report to work within 1 hr. I barely made it on time due to this person personal judgement on me. Sure she has turned down many.. All along she's faking her commitment to YMCA by saying hi to all members. Again why did you discriminate against me. Would you turn down your aunt, mom, cousin etc. She should be demoted to sanding rusty pissed lockers. Or clean toilets at night. Doesn't belong up front dissing the needy. Reflects bad on Manager Cyndi Oliva... Need more training...the right hand should talk to left hand. You can't greet Mrs.Kim like you need a free fortune cookie or free pedicure and say F Mr. Garcia or Mr Gomez etc.. This is LOS ANGELES .... Not staceyville..or lamenessville or braincrampville or brainfartville.... It is L O S Angeles ... Also looks bad on Rae Jin director who brags in her Linked in about her Customer Service Training and her vast abilities... Why are lockers rusty Pissy Pissy attitude at front desk Would HIGHLY Recommend EOS for a lot less monies YMCAKoreatown sucksneed better employees and managers..

Our instructor was Niko and there was another instructor who helped do demonstrations. We began the class with an alternating jumprope/punching warm up (about 10 minutes) and transitioned to punching with gloves in partners after. Because it was both my friend and my second time kickboxing ever, Niko helped hold the pads for us and went over the basics. Majority of the others in the class seemed pretty experienced and were able to jump into the more complex combos that Niko was providing. I appreciated how Niko was so helpful and encouraging, even though my friend and I had much less experience than those around us. In the short period of time, we were able to learn and practice jabs, crosses, hooks, knees, and kicks. After about 40 minutes of using the gloves, we ended with a quick 5 minute ab workout. Overall, such a solid workout, way to relieve stress and build confidence. Even through attending one day, you can tell everyone in the gym is pushing themselves and constantly seeking to improve, which makes it a great place to learn and be challenged. Quick note on parking: street parking (most of the spots nearby are 1 hour maximum, which works out since the class lasts for an hour)
