Been meaning to check this spot out for a long time. I often shop for groceries in this plaza, and have often wondered, and now regret taking so long to finally visit. Toshi's is an absolute gem I've made the mistake of passing by far too many times!. My wife and I stopped in for breakfast recently on a Saturday morning, and really enjoyed it. She got a bagel sandwich and I got a sausage egg and cheese breakfast burrito. They packed the burrito full of egg, cheese, sausage and even tator tots along with a spicy mayo, it was delicious! The staff were very friendly. We placed our order at the counter, and they gave us a pager to notify us when the order was ready, which was just a few minutes. In addition to breakfast, they also serve a variety of fresh made sushi rolls, bowls, and sandwiches. They offer a variety of hot and cold coffee drinks, and smoothies as well. Their pricing is fantastic, and the quality is top notch as well. They offer indoor seating, but also have a small, but covered patio space in the front. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and will be back to try another meal soon! read more

Toshi's Cafe is located in Greensboro, touching close to Jamestown and less than a 5 min drive from GTCC. Back when I was in college this was one of my go to spot grabbing some sushi and coffee while I'm on break. Years later I decided to check them out again and got some goodies to go. The man himself, Toshi, took my order and he was super sweet and kind! I ordered a small iced mocha and a spicy salmon roll. While I was waiting on my order I decided to browse around the cafe and there was LOTS to look at. I love how they still kept a big collection of manga books lined up the wall (btw the books are only read in Japanese not in English). They even have lots of cute stationary items for sale, yummy Japanese snacks and drinks, and they even have some video games to play, too! My iced mocha was great and even the spicy salmon roll was just as delicious as I remembered. There's a mini fridge where you can grab as much sauce and wasabi as you like, plus below the rack it looks like they have some homemade desserts as well. I stopped by Toshi's Café for a Saturday lunch date with my partner, and we both really enjoyed it. I ordered the fried shrimp bento box while my partner had the Katsu Don--both dishes completely hit the spot and were perfect for a light midday meal. The shrimp was perfectly crispy without being greasy, and the bento box came with a great variety of sides that made everything feel balanced and satisfying. The Katsu Don was warm, comforting, and full of flavor (or so I'm told!). Service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the portions were generous for the price. The one thing that threw me off a bit was the concept: a mix of American breakfast, Japanese lunch options, and a wall of manga and kawaii merchandise. It's unique, but admittedly a little confusing for a café tucked next to a Dollar Tree and Harris Teeter in Sedgefield. What an eclectic little coffee breakfast sushi combo shop! I stopped by here the other day for a quick pick me up before going to the gym. I got the beef noodle bowl and some mini macarons but they have a little bit of everything here - sushi, breakfast sandwiches, coffees, etc. plus some games, retail/merchandise. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, the noodle bowl was udon / soupy, not like the regular Asian noodles I was expecting. I really don't like the texture of udon noodles but the beef was okay and the broth/sauce was decent. So I mostly ate the beef with a few sips of the broth and left the noodles. This is a great mom and pop location that is a must-visit if you're in the Greensboro area. Relatively fast prep for the food (to-go order placed in person) on a Saturday evening. The staff were quick and professional. For over 8 years, this has been my favorite place to visit every time I visit Greensboro. For starters, what an amazing selection of food. Where else can you get coffee, sushi, and pastries all in one place? And they're all of excellent quality-I have yet to have an item I did not enjoy from here. My personal favorite items are Katie's Delight, Salmon Egg and Cheese Bagel, and the Sweet Melody Smoothie. I love how I can always rely on Toshi's to have delicious food, a relaxing place to sit, and people with warm smiles. I stumbled upon this cute cafe nestled in the Adams Farm Shopping Center. They have a variety of snacks and food perfect for any time of the day in addition to coffee and delicious drinks. So I got Yuna -Family Sized Bento Box 29.95 A Rainbow Roll, Cali Crunch, Chicken Kara-age, and Salad with Ginger Dressing. - I enjoy the rainbow roll. However one thing to note is that I could they use smoked salmon for a heads up. I think the Cali Crunch was my favorite out of the bento. The chicken was okay, I think it was the first I had this type of breaded chicken. The Cafe is small and cute. There is limited seating maybe like 5 tables. There is a bookshelves full of manga that you can pickup and read. Some are even in Japanese. There outlets available for charging. You can also buy some cute Japanese stationary and snacks. We were looking forward to the visit based on some trusted reviews, but we differ in experiences. I am sticking with the "okay" rating and this is definitely not a $ establishment with most dishes over $10.00. I got the cutlet wrap and fries and it was pretty good, I should have stuck with that, but decided I wanted to try the Crab Supreme and wished I hadn't, I have no idea if that was supposed to be a roll or just some fried pieces with a bunch of loose crab on top, it was hard to eat and not that great. My son got the Onigiri (two in fact) and regretted it saying they must have been left out on the counter. I told him, yes they were so don't be surprised at what you got. I will let my wife speak for her dish since she Yelps too. I'm putting this down as a pass on any future trips to Greensboro. read more

Oh my goodness... finally stopped in for breakfast! This is a delightful little shop. If you are into anime, this is a haven or heaven. One third of the wall is filled with Japanese anime books. You need a latter to reach the top shelf (and I'm above average tall). Plus a cute lil station to play, check it out.... Mario Bros!! There are many drinks and snacks from Japan . A fun way to share another culture with your children, and experience their top picks. When I walked in I was offered a French toast stick that was pretty good. Ordered a breakfast burrito and breakfast croissant to go. Also loved getting a jasmine tea. My burrito was very good with a surprise.. If your not familiar with "white sauce" that is; in my opinion, Japanese version of mayonnaise but theirs is much healthier! White sauce was in my burrito which added to the flavor. This rating is on the sushi because so far that is all I have tried from Toshi's Cafe so far. I would recommend giving them a try and checking out this really cool spot in Jamestown. You'll find a lot of cool Japanese snacks and drinks you can try and they even have some grab and go items. I have ordered several different types of rolls and overall I would say they are fairly good. The quality of the ingredients is fresh and the presentation is very nice. My only critique is often the rolls are not tight enough to stay together when you are trying to eat them, which makes it hard to enjoy at times. It's like a deli meets a sushi place, plus a coffee and breakfast place! What!?! I know!!!! You have to see it to fully appreciate it. I had the Karaage Bento box, and paid the difference in roll price to substitute the California roll for the spicy tuna crunch roll. :) The chicken was not as crunch as I expected it to be but it was SO tender and juicy, and it had great flavor! You get to pick your side item, from all their side options (which range from macaroni salad to soba noodles :). The mini salad was fresh, I especially liked the ginger dressing- I think it has a smidge of mustard in it. My friend had the Katie's delight sushi roll and really liked it! Don't sleep on Toshi's. Even with the area building up around Adam's Farm like crazy, he is still one of the best places to grab a quick breakfast or lunch! His cafe has lots of options to suit any desire, anything from breakfast and bagels, to lunch, sushi, sandwiches, even bento boxes and ramen! The last couple times I have gone, I have really been impressed. His sushi has always been good, but I've been branching out a little more lately and landed on a couple simple things that are delicious. First, the chicken cutlet sandwich which comes with an order of hot chips. Might be one of the best deals in Greensboro. A pounded chicken cutlet, lightly panko battered and fried, topped with LTO, and then some japanese white sauce and spicy mayo on simply white bread. Simple and delicious! With the included hot chips, hard to beat this deal for 8 bucks. So much for that new Chick-Fil-A up the block. His croissants are very tasty, and even the basics like a turkey and cream cheese are filling. Russel's Rajin' Cajun everything bagel is awesome as well! Definitely a breakfast favorite. He also has lox as well! Our favorite sushi are the Carmen's delight, Hot mama, and the Crab Supreme! It's a casual little cafe with a relaxed vibe and seating outdoors and inside. We tried the onigiri, hot momma specialty roll, miso ramen, squid balls, and pork bun, and a hot mint tea. (4.25 stars) Toshi's has expanded its offerings a lot in recent years, and that innovation deserves some recognition. The establishment still offers an eclectic mix of sushi, Japanese bowls, sandwiches, smoothies, coffee drinks, and breakfast dishes, and it is still my go-to spot for a breakfast burrito. However, Toshi's has since added ramen, bento boxes, sushi platters, takoyaki, and more. The bentos and platters include karaage (Japense fried chicken). Toshi said he spent a long time perfecting the recipe, and it shows. The meat is tender with soy and ginger notes. I don't usually like dark meat chicken, but I would eat this all day. Toshi's has upped its baked goods game as well, adding sweet bread (pan) and donuts to the existing cake pops. The food generally rates as good. The aforementioned karaage is definitely a notch above, and if you like fried sushi, the Crab Supreme or Katie's Delight won't let you down. However, the ramen does tend to be very salty. Though they've rearranged the dine-in area in recent years, Toshi's remains small. If you don't want to wait for a table (though there is a vintage Nintendo to keep you occupied in the meantime), online ordering makes for easy pick-up. Toshi and his staff have always been welcoming. Individually, there are better sushi spots and coffee shops in the area, but good luck trying to find any other place that does both. Its hospitality and variety make Toshi's a must for anyone near Adams Farm. read more

First time here, my son loves Japanese food, so decided to try this place. Heard a lot of good things. My son had the Bento Box, which he said was very good. I had the Chicken Salad Croissant. Had I known it came with fries, I would not have ordered the macaroni salad. My fries were good. A little different texture, but they're made in-house. The macaroni salad was ok. I would stay away from the 'chicken salad'. It's chicken, but tasted like, and was just chunks of dark meat chicken coated with a little bit of mayo. Definitely not 'Chicken Salad'. Well we were excited from the reviews ..but it fell short for my personal experience a little. My husband and son did not like their dish and felt it was over priced. Cafe was a little old and worn down. I do agree that my husband's sushi just fell apart with his chop sticks before it could make the journey to his mouth, but I have to say my own pork steamed buns and my spicy tuna crunch was very good (and did make the journey on one piece to my mouth lol) so I'm glad my dishes came out ok..but I wouldn't come back, I can get just as good stuff in a nicer environment. My dad came to town and wanted coffee. Well, I don't know much about coffee because I don't really drink it unless it's sugared up or is iced up with caramel and sugar. Nonetheless, my sister raved about Toshi's Cafe when she lived with me. So I took my dad but we are from Louisiana and nothing on the menu looked like black coffee so my dad was going to order an espresso. Well, the nice older man that helped us, explained what that was and then explained how to order what my dad really wanted which was an Americano. When I come to this part of town, I love to stop at Toshi cafe. I've been here after early morning grocery shopping in the area and I love the bacon, egg and cheese croissant and iced lattes!! This was my first time having something other than breakfast. The spicy soba noodles were good. Served cold with great spice, the noodles were a little gummy but they were still good. I love spicy tuna rolls so I knew I would like the spicy tuna crunch roll and it did not disappoint. It's has whole pieces of tuna versus the chopped up tuna you'll get at most restaurants when asking for this kind of roll. I branched out and tried the firecracker roll, it's someone's cup of tea, just not mine; I think the Cajun seasoning on the roll threw me off. I'll be back to try new rolls. This cozy little cafe with a popular Japanese theme is selling everything from Hello Kitty to ramen bowls, sushi, with Donkey Kong playing on a Nintendo.
