Came here on a whim cuz we didn't know what to eat for dinner. But I am glad that we did. Seated right away as it wasn't busy. Wifey always orders one thing from Thai - pad see ew (sometimes with beef sometimes with shrimp). This time with shrimp. I got the fried wontons and thai iced coffee. Food came out quickly. Less than 10 minutes and everything was delish. The fried wontons were lightly fried so no heavy oily taste. And shrimp filling was tasty. I wish the wontons were bigger lol. The pad see ew was tasty as well. I will admit that the sauce tasted different than what we are normally accustomed to back in NYC. But it was still great. Shrimp were cooked perfectly and not tough. One of my favorite spots in Corning when I visit! Their food is flavorful and satisfying. I always get the massumun curry with some extra spice which I highly recommend. The chicken is great in the curry and the tofu is a little soft for my preference. Great gluten free and vegan options on the menu. Their bubble teas are super refreshing on a hot day. The ambiance of the restaurant is great - intricate decorations that are calming and pleasant. The service is top notch with refills and promptness. I had my go to Thai order, the green curry. Beware of the spice levels!! I wanted a little spice so I ordered the medium but it was super spicy! It had me crying but it was flavorful and filling. What a wonderful Thai restaurant. We walked in and asked for their most spicy level of food. The taste as well as the heat were on point. Even as an Indian I was satisfied with the heat (something I don't get in North America). But it wasn't just the heat but the taste that truly mattered. Nine Elephants possesses a vast menu with options ranging from typical Thai dishes (pad thai, drunken noodles, curry, Thai tea) to Cajun seafood options. It is very open, clean, and bright. -- Overall, the pad thai was a good portion and was pretty standard flavor-wise. Ordering a mild, I felt it was a comfortable spice level for me and anything higher would've been unenjoyable. So just a word of warning, although the spice level was not true "Thai level mild (which would be spicier)," it was still enough to give the dish a good kick. My friend ordered a medium and had to order a bubble tea to help with the spice! My pad thai was nothing to write home about and I do wish there was either more salt or sauce on the dish, but it was an excellent portion for one person and I finished the whole thing. The interior of the restaurant was very bright due to the windows and lights. It was very quiet. The decorations are a strange mix of very formal and pirate-adjacent nautical decor, which I felt didn't all match, but it was pretty fun. The interior is spacious and I can picture large celebrations/gatherings being held comfortably in the space. The service was slow at times as there was only one server when I dined there on Sunday. So, when they left to run to the kitchen for long periods of time, we were left waiting for their return. The food came out at a reasonable speed. We were happy with the quantity and price. If you're visiting the Corning area, Nine Elephants is a great option for an affordable, fast, and quiet meal. Food was good but service was not.. My first time in this restaurant and man was I disappointed. I had high expectations going in but was disappointed quickly.. as soon as I walk in there was no one to be found. We waited a couple minutes and no one was coming. So I walked up to the counter and someone finally came. The server was pleasant but seemed as they didn't wanna be there which is okay.. I get it we all have bad days. Sever waited over shoulder to see what we wanted to drink. Didn't once ask if we needed a second to decide just kinda stood there waiting for a couple minutes. Made us feel rushed in a way to just hurry up and decide. I will say food was quick and hot which makes the experience better but it just sucks because we tipped good and barely got to enjoy our date. This was our 5 year anniversary date and just wanted to treat ourselves because we've wanted to go here for awhile. Restaurant is very clean and nice though, very calm and quiet environment. I would recommend this place to anyone that doesn't care about service and just wants some Thai food, food was still good regardless of service just kinda felt like we were being rushed out. The food and service at this place has been terrible. To begin with the food has too much sugar in everything. The yellow curry is sweet. The beef noodle soup is sweet. Tom yum soup also sweet. Everything is overwhelming sweet. Even pad Thai that is supposed to be a little sweet. Is super sweet. The chef has no idea how to cool beef. It is like trying to get bubble gum. this was some of the best thai food i've ever had. The pork penang curry combined with the beef pad thai was a beautiful combination that should not be had just once. The spice from the curry mixed w the rice noodles left a symphony in my head. Then ever so often crunching into the calamari that was dipped in a sweet and spicy sauce was the perfect cherry on top. Ordered edamame which was flavorless without the Cajun sauce, garden salad which was heavy on the iceberg lettuce but had a nice mustardy vinaigrette, and veggie egg rolls which were basic. The food was very flavorful, the ingredients were fresh and good, but each dish --except the Spring Rolls-- felt "thin" and excessively spicy. I like spicy food, but we ordered medium heat and hot torched. Again, I do not mind spicy but when I don't ask for arson it is just not cool to throw flaming gasoline around casually. I had a nice spice bubble -- but it was undesired. Tom Kha Gai was very tasty, but the coconut milk seemed very light. Panang Chicken Curry was also very tasty, but the broth was also on the light side and instead of coating your tongue with the typical dense broth, the heat burst through and you were rewarded by tiny bits of chopped up veggies instead of broth. Almost weird, but the flavor was good. Just *not* Anthony like I have had in Thai food on any continent so far. (Maybe they serve it like this in Antartica because to is so cold...?) Spring Rolls were handy to calm down the heat... The fried banana was not my thing at all. I think the fried dough was too dense versus a thiner/lighter dough like croissants use. Before my date and I hit up the strip club, we ate here. He told me he never had Thai food before and that I'd pick out some options. "No pressure," he said. Pressure applied regardless. Keep in mind that we were accepted in 30 mins before closing so I had to choose FAST. I got the green curry, papaya salad, and seafood salad. Plus mango sticky rice to go (I love mango sticky rice, easily one of my top five fave desserts). Green curry was a lil more liquidy than I'm used to but the flavour was still there. The seafood salad had a good mix (some Thai places skimp or put too much of one thing, like chewy squid, so thankfully that wasn't here). And it's v hard to mess up papaya salad. If you come to Corning, this is a great spot to go to especially after a Museum of Glass visit (or a pregame meal for the strip club LOL) read more

We stopped here for dinner while passing through Corning. Awesome food and service. NOTE: The food is AUTHENTIC THAI SPICY! So if you want mild, ask for mild or no spicy. We asked for a no spice drunken noodle and it was perfect for our kiddo, yet still flavourful. The Tom Kha Gai was mild spicy without changing the spice level. My spouse got the Thai Chicken Sauce with medium spicy and it was more like a hot spicy for most "American"-spice level Thai restaurants (hence the authentic spicy warning!) The food was good - but just not enough. Looks like they must have hired the chef from chips packaging company - since it's only half filled. When I pay for an item, they already made their profit, and all I expect it to be served for what was paid - not shortchanged. You get 25lbs of Jasmin rice for $18 at Costco, I just wish they used 1/200th (9 cents worth of rice - for $20 transaction) to fill my paid-for box. And you wonder why people are not coming, and the restaurant is going down. It's because of these sleezy practices - to maximize profit for a batch of rice they cooked - not provide value for paying customers. Left a bad taste, even though the food was tasty. I ve been here multiple times and it never gets any better. this last time will be the final visit. We ordered 2 dishes, pad Thai and massaman chicken. The pad thai's pork was like shoe leather, and it was the worst massaman chicken. Loose, flavorless sauce terrible, tough chicken. Not served with cashews but peanuts and it had round crab boil type potatoes with the skin on vs. hunks. Massaman is supposed to be a rich creamy curry sauce. When spoke to my server, her attitude was well, too bad, you can order something else, but you'll pay for them both, vs. offering to make it right. read more

The server seemed be forcefully polite & it was easily detectable. The facility itself was nice...it had flat tv with aquatic scenes playing on a loop. Their food is too salty and too sweet so I usually don't eat here. The Elmira one is much better and the service is way better. But we wanted to give this restaurant a chance since we had a visitor but the servers refused to put two tables together and tried to make our young toddler sit in a high stool with a booster seat.
