My extended warranty expired April 1, 2026. Within the first year, I already needed a repair. Then, just 68 days before the warranty expired, a technician came out and replaced the wash motor and control board--basically the entire guts of the machine. Now, only 88 days after that repair, the exact same issue is happening again. Keep in mind, I don't even use this dishwasher heavily--maybe twice a week. Despite that, I'm now being told I have to pay another $169 service call plus labor, as if this is a completely new issue. So let's be clear: Major components replaced Repair didn't even last 3 months Lost two days of work waiting for service Now expected to pay all over again At this point, it feels like they do just enough to get past the warranty window so they can charge you again. Guy gets here, checks one thing that I could've given on the phone. Says the item isn't under warranty like Total Appliance said, and tried to charge me $200 for that. I requested a tech come out to fix my dishwasher. He came out and charge me $250 to tell me i needed a new part. The trip charge was $109 and then they charge $40 per 15 minutes...so $160 per hour. None of this was told to me on the phone when I called to have a tech come out. I had no clue about the trip fee or about the high rate. If I knew prior, I would have called someone else. I feel like Total Appliance is dishonest and hides their rates upfront because they know no one would schedule service if they knew how expensive it was upfront. read more

The worst experience I've ever had. Was originally told it was going to be a 140 trip charge for the privilege of them to come to my home to look at my dishwasher. Never was told about labor but I understand it.But the labor ended up being 50 dollars for every 15 minutes....... That rate is more than an ICU doctor makes.... But again fine, I was then told a part was needed that they didn't have and he had to order it and come back monday. Again totally fine, but then as I had to go to my meeting and the Tech was wrapping up and my wife was left suddenly we were charged 580 for everything.... Again steep but for everything to be fixed ok. But then I come to find out, I now have to pay another 140 plus labor for him to come back out and install the part...which we don't even know 100% will work. And then when I called in, I was told "well it is what it is" This has been the worst company to work with. And now I am out 820 bucks for a still broken dishwasher. read more

I was connected to Total Appliance through Maytag and was left very unsatisfied with the overall experience. I had 5 visits to my home for a single issue and ended up buying a new dryer at the end after $400 in repair cost to myself. Visit 1: Specialist diagnosed issue as home electrical problem. $180 paid. Visit 2: Returned 3 hours later because the equipment he assessed dryer with wasn't proper functioning. Quickly diagnosed the issue as a part of the dryer. To manage cost, I then elected to purchase the component from a certified parts store due to the $100 mark up from Total Appliance. $220 additional out of pocket. Of course that was not the issue. I then called to have the specialist return. Visit 3: Same specialist tries to service dryer, while it was plugged in, sparks fly everywhere, now the component I purchased AND motor need replacement. Visit 4: Same specialist attempts to fix motor, no success. $198 additional charged. Visit 5: Senior specialist arrives, diagnoses issue as POOR WIRE QUALITY and says that a full inspection should have been performed on visit one. I had $198 refunded for the motor which I was charged for and that was it. Total appliance was off the hook for the remaining $400 because I connected a SIMPLE component which they recommended following an incomplete diagnosis from their team. I get the upcharges on parts and service fees, you need to run a business, but if I have to sink $400 of my own into a well built dryer that is unknowingly beyond repair following an incomplete assessment, a one star rating is warranted. read more

We bought a brand new top of the line front loading Electrolux washer machine from Home Depot about 8 months ago. Unfortunately it started leaking and I called home depot who told me to call Electrolux. I called Electrolux and they made a call to the service people in my area. It turns out that was Total Appliance Repair. The first time they came they looked and did not see why it was leaking but said that Home depot who installed the machine did not level it properly. The repairman leveled the machine and ran a few loads and everything seemed ok for a day or two. Then it started leaking again so I called Total Appliance Repair directly this time. The person who answered the phone was very nice and apologized and said they could get the same guy out the next day which was great. Luckily I took pictures of the leak so the person could see proof. In the pictures I took he saw where it was leaking from and not where we originally thought. It turned out it wa s major problem where many parts needed to be ordered and replaced. The repairman was super friendly and seemed exceptionally goo at what he does. The repairman said he would order the parts and then they would call to reschedule a service call once they came in. It took about 2-3 weeks but all the parts finally came in and the same serviceman came and installed all the new parts tested the machine. overall my experience with Total Appliance Repair was great and the serviceman was really friendly and nice and very knowledgable. I would defiantly recommend Total Aplliance Repair for all your appliance repairs. read more

Horrible company. Hired them to repair my Bosch dishwasher. While fixing the issue... the technician told me he broke another part. Fine accidents happen. The company wanted me to pay for what he broke. I said that's crazy... you broke it... you acknowledge you broke it... why would I be responsible to pay. Finally they agreed they would pay for it... but they won't schedule the repair for 2 weeks because "we're not in your area until then." After waiting 2 weeks... the technician shows up... can't fix what he broke... wants to try to replace yet another part... and I should pay for it. Cost me $548.59 and my dishwasher still doesn't work. Everything I spoke with the office staff... they couldn't have been more rude and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor... chose someone else. read more

We had Total Appliance install an igniter on our oven. They were expensive. We've had that part replaced by other companies over the years and it cost much less. Then my wife asked two questions about two minor issues we were having with other appliances. The technician looked up the price of the parts on the internet and charged us $60 per search. He did't fix the appliances he only told us how much the part would cost. if you have them come to your home DON'T ASK ANY QUESTIONS! It will cost you $60 per question. read more

Total Appliance is the top company in Cleveland to use for any repairs that you may need on any appliance. If you talk to anyone who works in this industry, they recommend Total Appliance. Word of mouth recommendations and reviews are so high, but people don't go to review the positives so that's why I am here. The first thing to note is I do not judge a service like this on their price. Although they were at the lower end of pricing out of the three companies I requested a quote from, when you are getting work done on your appliances, you have to be prepared that the bill will be high. It is just a part of the field and you have to accept that when you call someone to fix something like a oven or a stove. The reason why Total Appliance is so great is that they work with your schedule, are completely honest, and explain in detail what is wrong with your appliance, what needs to be done in order for it to work, and what options you may have. We had Kevin from Total Appliance come out to check out our oven after it would not open after we self cleaned it. He got it open, figured out the issue, tested to make sure he got it working again, explained what happened and everything he did to fix it, and then my options moving forward. I felt comfortable with Kevin. He was professional and helped me understand what happened to our oven so we could avoid the problem in the future. I know so many people who use Total Appliance and have raved about their service. They are a great company that leave so many customers happy. I highly recommend if you need any service done on your appliances for any reason! read more

I have had bad experiences with this appliance repair company. They only schedule appointments between 9 AM - 5PM. They told me if I couldn't make that work leave the door open or ask a neighbor to come over. I have had to use them because they are the authorized repair company for two appliance brands. This past week I had them come out to service an Electrolux unit that is about 1.5 years old. I showed the technician that I have a Platinum star warranty that clearly says parts are covered for three years. The tech and his supervisor didn't care and said that wasn't true. I called their office and explain the same thing. The office didn't care either. Finally, I called Electrolux and verified my coverage. sure enough. Three years parts covered. Electrolux called total appliance and explained it to them and opened a work order. Electrolux even offered to cover labor because of Total Appliance giving me such poor service. Total Appliance should have been on the phone with Electrolux verifying this stuff--not me. In summary: poor customer service from Technician and their office. Unwilling to do their job and call the manufacture. read more

After the gas company accidentally broke the connector to my gas stove, Total Appliance was able to diagnose the problem, order the needed part, and complete the repair quickly and under their cost estimate. Now I'm cookin' with gas again! Thanks, Total Appliance! read more

If you feel like getting hung up on and told "I don't know" in a snotty tone ask for the manager Kim. She does a great job. The first appointment I actually had scheduled they tired calling to confirm the night before but bc my voice mail was full they completely cancelled the appointment- why not try texting to confirm or calling again in am. So I made another appointment thru GE warranty services and was given another date and time for total appliance I waited three weeks to be told by Kim in a tone of voice of I don't really care your not the schedule you need to call GE. I asked why is GE saying your company has availability only to hear "I don't know" like a snotty teen. Your the manager I'm telling you there's a glitch in the system. Horrible Horrible customer service by office staff. I'm sure the technician are wonderful just never got that far and never will. read more

Had Total Appliance come out to service my Sub-Zero 550, which was icing up. They replaced the drain tube and heater. They are very expensive. The service cost over $900. Two months later the icing problem is back. Total Appliance says they are sorry about that, but they will be happy to come out for another service call - at my cost. Avoid these people like the plague. And seriously re-consder buying Wolf or Sub-Zero products as Total Appliance is the only authorized service provider for norther Ohio. read more

We used them twice and both times they had to come back because they didn't repair the problems correctly. The second time we used them, they came back a second time and the problem is still not resolved. Not to mention, they charge $89 for a service call, a gas fee, and $40 per fifteen minutes. Do the math, that's $160 per hour! We highly recommend not using them so buyer beware! My parents Thermador oven locked on while using the self cleaning function. A company called Total Appliance came recommended by Thermador so my parents felt confident using them. The service guy was really friendly. Unfortunately he was unsuccessful in his attempt to remedy the issue and my parents had a locked oven and a bill for $132.78. I did some research and found this to be a common problem with these units. We followed the online instructions and within five minutes opened the door. It's very disappointing when you hire a recommended company that fails to rectify your issue, bills you in full and then you fix the problem. We called Total Appliance about our recent success only to get a rude customer service rep. read more

I would give them a negative star if I could. It's a shame that a local business has such greedy practices. I called Total Appliance to schedule repair when my washing machine started to leak water. (They assured me they had parts for my model.) I live less than 1 mile away, and the technician spent 5 minutes inside my house looking at my machine. $127.39 later he said it couldn't be fixed. While I don't expect the call to be free, this is excessive, unreasonable and greedy. I will never call them again. read more

They will charge you over $100 to come look at your appliance and tell you that it isn't worth fixing. You are better off just buying an appliance used or getting a new one. If it isn't worth fixing, you should have a reasonable charge for the time it took to come to that conclusion and $100 is not reasonable. read more

Technician (Russ) just left after doing absolutely nothing and charging me $150. He recommended we fully defrost the fridge for a day and "see if that fixes the problem." I told him we just moved in, and the fridge had been off until we moved in, and I had concerns with maybe the seals or the fan. He said he could rip it all apart but it would cost us more money for him to tell us the exact same thing. The tech had a terrible attitude the second he walked in the do I'll be opening a dispute with my credit card company. What a joke. EDIT: we had a different company come out to look at our problem and SURPRISE there was an actual repair needed. The fan needed replaced and there were cracks in the condensate line, which caused the leaks. My credit card company has been notified of this, and once the charges post (instead of pending) they will open the dispute. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. We had an issue with a new Kitchen Aid refrigerator. The company we bought from (Snow Bros) referred us to these guys. Sent a technician out and he started to argue with me about the problem. Sadly he was unable to fix the original issue and in taking apart the fridge he broke it. So they had to order more parts and I refused to have the first technician out so we had to wait. Second guy was better but fridge is still not right they caused another problem. I decided it was not worth it. I think this is the game they play, they send somebody out that is so incompetent that you are happy to see them leave. read more

I have been a resident of Broadview Heights for thirty plus years and have probably used Total Appliance ( a bvh based company) for most of those years. They have repaired washers, dryers, dishwashers and most anything else they service. I appreciated that they also told me when an appliance (dehumidifier, microwave oven) was not worth repairing. Workers have been competent, polite and professionally groomed. I certainly would not have been calling the same company year after year had I had any issues with them. Their longevity in our area also attests to their reliability. They may or may not be the most economical appliance repair company, but repairing a needed appliance quickly and reliably is my priority. I was frankly stunned at some of the negative reviews TA received in the past. I think all of us consumers are being hit with the "replaceable society " in which most of our major appliances are not built to last as long as they once were. The "bells and whistles" added to some appliances (like my dishwasher's computerized panel that needed repair) don't allow for homeowner repair and add to the cost of calling an outside service. I also know that we must be more circumspect in purchases, especially from "big box" stores. Price should not always be the deciding factor. Check all models. Some appliances have a special model number that are sold only to the big boxes. It is getting harder to rely on reviews of appliances. Stick with the independent dealers where you ae more likely to receive better service in sales and in service if you have warranty problems read more

We used this company to fix our dishwasher. They came to our house to diagnose the problem. We paid over 100 dollars just for them to come over and figure people out. We needed a new part. We paid for the part. They said it would be here "next week". Next week came, and I called. They told me that "the part is not in yet, ge products take longer than most to get in". A few days later my husband called. They told him the item is on back order but we have no idea how long until it is in but they could refund us for the part. We called the next day and they told us it's on back order until March 2019. What my biggest problem is, is that nobody called us to notify us of the SEVEN MONTH delay. I have been trying to patiently wait. Shame on us for not reading the other reviews before using this company. Hopefully you will not make the same mistake we did. I'd take the extra time or pay a couple extra bucks for a better company. We lost 2 weeks of functional dishwasher and over 100 dollars by using this company and have nothing to show for it. I had a dishwasher that was cutting of mid cycle but would work if I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Eventually the dishwasher stared smoking and completely failed. It was out of warranty but I convinced the manufacturer to cover it. Total Appliance Service came out and fixed it. I was concerned that the effect was fixed and not the cause. They assured me it was ok. The repairman told me the warranty from them was good for a time period I can't remember. A few days later it was cutting off again. Total Appliance Service refused to repair it. They told me I needed to get the manufacturer to send them the warranty again or pay. I went back to the manufacture and convinced them to honor the warranty again. Total Appliance Service came out and fixed something. A few days later the same thing. It cut off mid cycle. Once again they refused to fix it. Since they sent me the link to this site I took the opportunity to click the link and fill out this survey. I do not understand how a business can do a repair that lasts a few days and not stand by their work over a warrant issue with the manufacture. It is just bad business. read more

I have used Total Appliance Service twice for the same issue. My drawer style microwave stopped heating. In 2018 they were out to fix it and it costed me over $300.00 but I figured because of the cost (over a $1000) of the microwave, the repair was worth it. Well the part they replaced went out in less than a year. I called and they said it was under warranty but their service was not so I would have to pay for the time for the repair. The guy worked on the microwave from 10:30 a.m to 11:15 a.m (not 1 hour!) and charged $237.55!!!!!!! $99.75 of the fee was "for just showing up" as he put it. He then in a very irritate way, stated that I was told it would cost to show up. I was not. The lady on the phone had told me that it would cost for the service, which I had already figured would cost me at least $120 for the "not and hour" hour. This was on December 26, 2019 and guess what, the microwave is not heating again.... This company is ripping people off, both with their bogus "trip charge" and their sub-par parts and repair. Wish I would have read the reviews before selecting them for my warranty repair. Now Im not suprised on how my claim was. Had to call Frigidaire to send out a second company to fix my issue. I offered to move my car for the driver because there was construction on the lower part of my street. He proceeded to tell me that he could not fit in the 5 parking spots that were open, and hung up on me when I tried explaining how to get on my street from the top side. I called the main number and tried to explain how to get on my street and the operator was horribly rude, and would put me on hold every time I tried to speak and only said "he wont do it, he can't get on the street" Im not a child, and their behavior was completely unnecessary. She said we wont be coming then and to find someone else to do it then, which was perfectly fine with me. I wasn't going to argue with them. I lost a day waiting, but I'll live. read more

Do not use this company! We were forced to use the Cleveland location due to the manufacturer warranty and it has been a TERRIBLE experience! Our original service call was scheduled on Aug 8th and I am still waiting for service on October 23rd! Basically a part needed to be ordered which took about 4 weeks. Fine. Part arrives and it takes weeks for company to come back and install. It was such a headache. A technician finally comes, beginning of Oct and didn't have the part! It was missing a key component. (Probably grabbed by someone else while it was laying around their shop for weeks). It needed to be REordered and again I am waiting. When you call the office there is terrible customer service....very rude and unhelpful. Do not use this company! read more

I took a temperature sensor probe for an oven to them and asked if they could test it to see if it was good or bad. They said "there's no way to test these". I found out that it was completely NOT TRUE! They are either incompetent or were looking to just sell me a part I didn't need or looking to get a service call out of it. I give this Company an F. My 3.5 year old stackable washer is leaking and a technician came out last week to make an assessment. He found the area where it was leaking and it was agreed that he would come back and bring another technician to assist. They came back today but ended up walking away from the job because one technician was grossly obese and the other was on the large side. Neither could fit into the space to unhinge dryer from washer. (Although this Company had technicians who did a service call on this same washer 2 years ago and were able to unhinge and do the work.) BUT I was charged $127 for the service call even though nothing was done. Total ripoff. I will never use this company again and I will make sure this info gets in the condo association's newsletter. read more

I was a loyal customer for the past 12 years until now. They have two main problems: price gouging and below grade customer service. This time I was charged $260 to find out my microwave could not be fixed. Total Appliance then quoted $160 to bring it out and install in the wall unit. The tech told me that it was easy to "pop it in on the brackets". I called the scheduler, Kim, to discuss the price, and asked to speak to a manager. She refused and controlled the conversation by putting me on hold to talk to someone. After no resolution, I told her that I would get back to her later in the day about the installation. When I called back, I was informed that my appointment was cancelled and they had placed my microwave back on the truck to the vendor. If you go with them, be prepared for the unexpected treatment and the sticker shock. What a shame! read more
