My former NP, Luz is amazing! Unfortunately, some of the rest of the staff is NOT. Billing issues, refill Issues and staff complaining about each other during appointments is what you can expect as a patient. You will know all about the MA's son that is an addict and all of the family drama, including his suicide. You will hear about staffing issues including them asking an MA to stay when it's her child's wedding day. They DO NOT take any responsibility in the management your care. The script nurse is more interested in lecturing than providing patient care. The office manager will call you back & is equally unprofessional and condescending! Needing lab work for refills is fine, unless no one communicates. I explained that absent at least a partial refill, lab work would be useless and inaccurate since I would not have therapeutic levels in my blood stream. Bottom line.....this place is a profit center with rude, unprofessional staff. They are definitely more interested in revenue generation than patient care! If Luz changes offices, I would follow her 10/10! Otherwise, avoid this place at all costs! I am a nurse myself and have overlooked all of the issues because I absolutely LOVE Luz! Total joke of an establishment. Made an appointment as a new patient a month out and the day of, I get a call that the office needs to reschedule because "the nurse practitioner you were scheduled with isn't with us anymore." No big deal, so I reschedule and have to wait an additional two weeks for an appointment. The day of the appointment, I get a call in the morning saying that I will be charged a "no show fee". I'm confused because my appointment time hadn't passed yet, and I fully intended on showing up to this appointment that I've waited over a month for. I call and tell them that there must be a mistake and they assured me that there was not, and that they would NOT be reimbursing me the almost $100 late fee that they charged me as a new patient deposit. Not even a one time "grace" period. Absolute no accountability from the office staff and just impatience and immaturity coming from their end. I was blamed for their lack of due diligence and told that it was my fault. I honestly could not believe the nerve that these strangers had, in order to gaslight me and blame me for their mistakes. The bottom line is that these people only care about money, while making it seem as if they have "no power" over your circumstances. Please go to an office that cares, as they should. I've been a patient of Luz for a year or so after a horror show with a different doctor. She is great to work with, and seems very attentive & helpful. I use the portal a lot. But I also speak up when there's an issue. There's been a couple times people are rude at the front desk but I spoke up in person & in the portal, I haven't had a problem since. I love Luz! Rebeca is a great PA. Very informative and has super bedside manner. SHe is just as good as Andrew if not better! Her assistant Chris is horrible at communicating follow-up information. Unwilling to do the simplest of things without having an attitude. I love this place. It has the best doctors and PA's but the staff always seems to have an attitude. I had labs and imaging done this time and last time and I had to call them to see what the results were. It would seem that they would call you after they have the results to discuss but, no such luck. The comments made by Chris, "your labs were similar to what they showed the last time"...Really doesn't work. I cant remember what i did a week ago let alone six months ago. freaking Joke. The are suggesting that you take Fish Oil... How much or what's the dosage? I don't know she says. Doesn't event offer to find out and get that to me. She says, i think that your portal will have that info. I say, you think???? I say, Can you find out? I have to ask her if she can get the info for me. Too sad!!! Horrible customer service and do not expect the office to take care of anything within a timely manner. My grandma has been under Dr. Anthony Wright's care for at least 10 years and his ability to keep up with her medical needs and referrals is only getting worse. She currently needs a surgery that he has to refer out but every time she needs him to sign something for it he makes her come back to the office for an 'official visit' and then still doesn't actually submit the forms and fax them to the surgeon. This cycle should have been completed months ago but the office keeps covering for him. Once she gets this surgery (thank God Wright's not performing it) we will be finding her a new primary care!! read more

This place is awful. They send text to check in but the system doesn't work so you have to call. But they don't tell you this and send instructions to use the system. If you walk in with a mask and stand 6ft back from the glass to check in the receptionist makes you walk out the door and call to check in. Why? No idea. They don't take your temp or do anything special. Side note- it was 37 degrees outside when I was told to walk outside and call. Getting an appointment is never ever fast. Two weeks to a month is the average wait time. They encourage you to go to urgent care instead of to the place where your PCP is supposed to be. They also charged me for an appointment I canceled on their text system. I had the text and my response to show them. They said they would take care of it but I keep getting messages to pay my balance in the portal. The portal that doesn't work. I stayed with them for a bit because I liked the NP I was seeing. He left and I have never seen the same person twice since. If I could give less than one star I would. Just don't do it. Not worth the stress and their lack of professionalism. read more

I'm a little disappointed. I was seen for a UTI (after waiting close to an hour to be seen) and placed on antibiotics with the understanding my specimen would be sent for further culture to be certain I was given proper medication. Seven days following antibiotic I now have recurrent UTI. Their office is closed and weekend is here. Discomfort for three days with no promise of appointment on Monday? I don't think so. If the culture was truly sent it would have been noted their antibiotic of choice was the wrong one. Pretty sure I will be seeking a new practice. read more

Had an in person appointment scheduled for an insect bite that was getting infected. The morning of the appointment it was changed to a virtual appointment by Total Health, then the virtual appointment had no video--it was essentially a phone call. Completely inadequate service in my opinion to consider this "medical care" and then bill over $200 for the appointment. 110% AGREE with Jason Straughan...I have been patients of both Dr. Gloria and Dr. Anthony, almost from the start. I know it has been way over ten years. I LOVED going to the doctor. I even convinced my mother to become a patient. I was always treated kind, and courteous and never left feeling like i hadn't been listened to or cared for in the best possible manner. Went through many many things with the docs and the staff over the years and would have NEVER thought that the Wrights would turn their practice into a "cattle call"....but that is exactly what it has become. The administrative staff is negligent and completely under-qualified. Dr. Anthony is my primary doc and i haven't seen him in over a year, because when you phone to get an appointment with Dr. Anthony the staff "PRETENDS" that you are getting scheduled for an appointment with the doctor until you arrive the day of and get stuck off with some under-qualified intern that knows nothing about you or your medical history so that the docs can keep on getting richer....Your scripts don't get called in, the PA's who are merely stand in to get more patients in to get more money in the pockets of the practice, are incompetent and DO NOT follow through. Doesn't matter if your young, old, sick, dead or dying. My mother who is a diabetic was told by a PA to purchase epson salt and soak, when on the back of the package it clearly states not for use if your diabetic. My mother phoned to inquire about the guidance and the visit from the PA, Instead of making the errors correct, the administrative staff decided to call the police for a welfare check on my mother when all she was calling for was to find out what happened to her prescriptions that the PA promised and never sent to the pharmacy. For 2019 i have finally decided to give up on Total Primary Care, and the Wright Dr.'s. I recently have selected to change my primary and will never forgive this practice for turning their hearts and their back on their patients in exchange for greed. We have been patients at Total Health Primary Care for about 9 years now. Over that time we have seen them grow and change. The physicians are some of the best I have ever worked with. They are friendly and take the time to explain your issues and treatment plans with you. They show an interest in you as a person and not just as an item on a checklist to get them paid. In today's medical field where efficiency and quick appointments have become the norm they are a refreshing change. They have some issues as all businesses do. Their staff, especially the non-medical staff are not always on the ball, but the nurses and other medical staff make up for it. I was a patient for quite awhile. Beware.. I don't know about the male Dr. Wright but the female Dr. Wright will get you to buy their brand of pills. One day I received a call about having an item ready for me to pick up. I was very confused. So, I drove over. I asked the receptionist, " What are these about? " She replied, " Oh, Dr. Gloria said you were fat and needed to take those. Didn't she tell you? It's in your chart!" You could've knocked me over with a feather. I started to get tunnel vision, my ears started to ring from anger. I told the lady, " "As a matter of fact Dr. Gloria never mentioned it so, therefore she can keep the pills." I went to the doctor for a yeast infection on August 8. I waited 45 minutes past my time to see the doctor. Instead of focusing on the reason why I came in in the first place, she veered off course and started asking me questions about my diet. She did ask my to describe my symptoms. She prescribed diflucan(sp.?) and told me to buy monistat anti-itch cream over the counter. She then told me to come back if it came back and have a pelvic exam. I was already there. I don't know why she didn't do it while I was there. I was right in her face, all she had to do was ask me to get undressed so she could look. She then saw I hadn't had blood tests in awhile. She ordered that and checked 4 things, vitamin D, anemia, cholesterol and one other thing. I told her that I drink milk with all my meals and eat it on my cereal in the morning. I never got to finish what I was going to say about what else I eat. I do eat cheese, yogurt, etc. She then started on a rant how I should eat greek yogurt, cut bread and pizza out of my diet entirely. I don't eat a whole lot of bread or pizza. I saw that greek yogurt really doesn't contain vitamin D. She also said how I should get out in the sun. She made a remark about how white I am and emphasized it. I know I am white and don't need to be reminded about it. I don't think making remarks about people's color is appropriate. I am whiter than a lot of patients because my father's family has Irish heritage. My dad and paternal grandfather had red hair when they were younger. Of course, when you're 65, like my dad your hair is not your natural color. I am 28, 29 in November and my hair is still naturally red and will be for awhile. The next morning on August 9, I go back for blood tests. The lab took 4 tubes of blood. Despite the fact she only ordered 4 things to check for. I don't know why I'd be deficient in Vitamin D or calcium or why I'd be anemic. I walk into the reception area and check in for my blood tests. I then go and sit down and wait for the lab to call me back, After 5 minutes, the receptionist is telling me they'll be with me shortly. Then, another 5 minutes passed and the lady told me again that they'd be with me shortly. I said what's shortly? She shut the the door in my face. This was NOT professional behavior. You can bet your booty if I did that, I'd be called into the office and reprimanded. After about 15 minutes, the lab calls me. The lab had to stick me three different times with a needle to get blood drawn. First he stuck me near the crook of my arm. The second time, he sticks me maybe 3 inches away and let it sit there for awhile. Then the third time he stuck me near my thumb on my right hand. If they hadn't gotten it, I would have gotten up and left. I had a bad bruise on my left arm for a good five days before it started to go away. It was embarrassing. Customers asked me what I did and when I told them I had blood tests done, they were shaking their heads. August 15, I am at work and apparently they don't call your house phone, they only call cell phones. My mother did not have her cell phone on from about 3:15 until 8:40 and somewhere between that time they called and left a voicemail. It makes me annoyed that they don't respect your wishes, she also told them NOT to text because it costs us money on our bill to receive texts unless the phone company texts us themselves. The next morning on August 16, my mom tells me about the doctor and we call to see when the doctor's next appointment is. She didn't have any appointments August 18 or 19, she dosen't work Fridays. She had nothing for yesterday or today and she won't be in until August 24 which is tomorrow. Went back to doctor this morning and she talked about my results, etc. I told her how the last time I had blood tests done, someone must have mixed up my results with someone else's because my triglycerides were normal a month later. She asked me if I had made changes to my diet then and I said no. She then asks me why am I wasting her time. She then starts asking me about my sleeping habits and my hormones. What do my sleeping habits and hormones have to do with blood test results? My triglycerides were higher than normal as well as my allergy levels, but I take allegra for allergies. I don't know why the lady doctor can't stick to the subject at hand and move on. I must have waited a good 15 minutes or more past my time, again. She had a student with her as well. I was fine wit that and don't mind if a student observes. We all have to learn a new job at some point. The lady doctor was condescending to a lot of things I tried to talk about with her when she brought up other subjects. I will do probiotics and fish oil. I am not doing anything for my vitamin D levels right now. I don't think that it is necessary to take vitamin after vitamin. If you do as doctors say, you'd never get done taking pills. I take anti-seizure medication so I have to watch what other medicines I take. read more

Do Not See This Doctor Unless You Are Prepared To Pay More Than Your CoPay Dr. Anthony at first seemed very helpful for a condition that I had been struggling with. He promised to help me solve the problem, he performed what I thought was a basic exam, told me to make another appointment to see his wife, and sent me on my way. His wife, also Dr. Anthony, was nearly impossible to get in to see. She cancelled on me because she decided to attend a conference instead, and I had to wait another month before I could get in to see her. I never did get in to see her, and had to seek medical attention elsewhere. Nevertheless, I never heard back from Dr. Anthony. His "detective work" as he called it apparently ceased the minute I was out of his sight. However, I did receive another bill months later. As it stands, that standard exam I was administered turned out to be a "muscle manipulation". That now applied to my deductible because it was coded as a chiropractic adjustment. Even though his appointment was a waste of time, and I did not feel helped at all by Dr. Anthony, I still have to pay for a service that I feel I did not receive. I am so glad that I got to help line his pockets a little more. Truthfully, I feel robbed and mistreated by himself and his staff. When I called to inquire about my bill, the receptionist was extremely rude and seemed unversed in both proper grammar and customer service skills. I never did get a call back, and had to call them instead again the next morning. The woman I spoke to at first, Angela is her name, seemed helpful at first but did not return my call in the time frame in which she had promised. When I finally got ahold of her again she had spoken to the doctor, and as I assumed would happen, he stood by his assessment. At this point I became extremely frustrated, asked for the contact information as to whom I could write to file a complaint against Dr. Wright. She refused to help me find that information, and when I persisted she actually hung up the phone on me!! I couldn't believe the rudeness and unprofessionalism I received from this office. This doctor discriminates against patients with mental afflictions like depression. My husband and two children had been patients for the last 5 years. Struggling with depression my whole life I was surprised when she recommended buying her in house natural supplements to replace my anti-depressant against the advice of my licensed psychiatrist. When I declined she made light of the severity of my illness implying It was similar to having a vitamin deficiency. When my daughter started having depression symptoms and we voiced concerns she again recommended an in house natural product and did not take my daughter's suicidal thoughts seriously. Luckily I took her to my psychiatrist, we found she had gotten a hold of a large bottle of Tylenol and was planning to take it. She was hospitalized and I am now proud to say after a year of therapy doing very well. The last straw happened when she refused to see me for my physical because I plan on giving the results to my psychiatrist who is starting me on ketamine infusions for depression. I have medication resistant depression and was hospitalized for a suicide attempt last year. My psychiatrist who came to the conclusion only after countless consultations and in depth discussions with me and my therapist thinks this is my best shot at living. If I had listened to Dr. Wright I truly believe neither me or my daughter would still be here. Instead I am switching doctors, getting my physical at the quick care, and I have hope for the future. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of contacting this business because I was seeking a primary physician because of an extremely high blood pressure situation. I needed care as soon as possible. They agreed to to give me an appointment 3 weeks from when I called and on a day that I would have to get off work to go to the appointment. I agreed because my wife was already one of their patients and so is my daughter. After I agreed and they got my insurance information they said that I would have to prepay for the appointment even though my insurance was approved to pay for it. They said that the money would be returned to me if I was able to make the appointment on time. I told them that that was satisfactory if they would guaranty in writing that they would take me at the appointed time. They refused to give the same guaranty that they required from me. I have never experienced such greed from a health provider and I am convinced by their actions that the service that they provide would be less than satisfactory as their focus is not on the care of their patients but the control of their patients. My advice to anyone is to stay away from this provider. "Caveat Emptor" applies in this situation. read more

We recently moved to Selma and I was searching for a primary care physician in the area. I called Total Health and waited on hold for 17 minutes before someone got back to me. I requested a new patient appointment and although they are taking new patients, they can't schedule a new patient appointment until late April/early May. That is over a month out! If this is how long it takes to get someone to answer the phone and get an appointment I don't think I am interested in their services. Yes the office is nice, you always have a smile, and always fit people in. But you represent health and that representation this week was poor. I came in for a flu test and it was reported to take 24 hours. I went to pick up my script an hour later and you didn't even call it in, of course it was already after hours as well too. My daughter got a fever that night and tested neg for flu within 15 minutes and they told me if I was positive (whenever I'd find out) they'd start her on meds too. I called at 10 this morning and you had no record of it. Called at 3 and lo and behold yall close early on Friday and have yet to give me an answer. Checked my email and looks like at 3:25 this morning you entered a positive result in my patient portal that I haven't even known about. Not sure why you couldn't have passed along the information so I could have started my 4 year old on meds too. This is ridiculous. Unless you like healthcare providers that act more like used car salesmen than healthcare professionals DO NOT GO HERE! I gave this clinic a fair shot. I searched for a good general healthcare provider; instead I ended up with an arrogant PA. I've had great PAs before so that was not a deterrence at all. The problem was a provider that was more concerned with billing my insurance than my health. After each [very brief] visit I was handed a bill although my insurance provides me certain free annual exams. I questioned it at my last visit, when my routine physical turned into a treatment visit, and I was handed yet another bill. When I questioned it, I was treated with the utmost disrespect and ultimately told I could find "healthcare elsewhere." I contacted my insurance company the next day. Turns out Total Health was attempting to bill my insurance company twice! Word to the wise--do not go here. I've gotten better care at several urgent care clinics. read more
