People beware of this guy from Total Stone Care. He's a con artist. He provided a bid for travertine work. Started one day and left. Stated that he would be back Saturday to finish. Never showed up. Never called or even texted. Finally texted back on Sunday and stated that he was partying Friday and that's why he never showed up. See his text below. Also stated by text that job is bigger than what he thought and that he needed a $1000.00 more dollars to complete it. So now my furniture outside and my flooring is a mess. Long story long is I had to hire another person to fix his mess. He does not have a license so there is no recourse for me. I hired Alan De Jesus with Total Stone Care to refinish my Saltillo tile. I hand sanded a tile prior to getting a bid to show him my expectations. I was told there was no reason he couldn't make all the tiles look like the one I had sanded. Originally I asked Alan to grind the tiles to remove all the old stains and glazes. He said chemical stripping would work better and be less messy. I trusted Alan's judgement and told him I would like him to do the job. Alan told me the job would take 4 hours and that we should plan on being out of the house due to the chemicals they would be using. We made plans to be gone during that time period. After about 8 hours, they still weren't done. At that point, half of the floor had been stripped and re-sealed and he asked us to pay half of the total amount owed. I paid him a little under half. The portion that he considered finished still had streaks and stains on the tile and they had already been re-sealed. I told Alan I was disappointed and I would like the tiles to be re-stripped to remove the rest of the streaks and stains so they would look like the tile I had sanded. He made an appointment to come back 5 approx. days later finish the job. I texted and emailed Alan over and over to find out what time he would arrive and he never replied to any of my texts and he never answered my phone calls. And he never came back. I am left with half of the job completely unfinished and the other half sealed with streaks and stains still on it. My final text to him said I felt it was my responsibility to let people on know he didn't finish my job and I told him that I noticed he had a Yelp page. I still didn't hear back from him. read more
