I go there a lot; love the large selections. It's hard to find a CS rep when you're trying to find something but all in all...not too bad What I don't like is the discounts they keep mailing me. Every time I go to use one, they tell me it doesn't pertain to my purchase because one or more of the bottles price ends in a 7 or 9 or some other reason. This is where all bottles of liquor aspire to reside! Imagine a warehouse of spirits of all flavors, colors, families. The wine selection is wicked good. Head to the back for a local AZ selection (yes they craft wines in our home state!). There's an abundant selection of fine spirits, beer, and alcoholic "trinkets". I'd love to see Total Wine run a 5 cent wine sale like their competitor does. It's a great way to try something new without breaking the bank. Staff is extremely friendly & knowledgeable. Never be afraid to ask them a question or make a recommendation. There are "hints" throughout the store to spotlight new labels, and top scoring wines. I have only been here once but the one time have left me a bit impressed. The prices seem to be fair. The aisles are well organized and it was easy to find what I went in there for. The couple of employees that I did interact with were nice. One little problem that I had when I was there was there were at least three (I think they were vendors) in one aisle stocking and there were boxes and the ladders that they were using all down it so you couldn't really work your way down that aisle. But I know you got to stock the shelves some how so I am okay with it and it was only one aisle. read more

Love this store but dislike that I never seem to purchase the items that are eligible for the discounted coupons that they keep sending me. Huge selection (though if I want Sam Adams Cherry Wheat I know to shop early in the day as there never seems to be any on the shelf after 3 pm) so grab a shopping cart as I'm sure you're bound to find something on every aisle. Love the fact that they offer a wide selection of beers in assemble your own six pack - style. I love not having to commit to 6 of something I haven't tried yet. They offer a great selection of trinkets down the main aisle - stuff you didn't know you needed until you spot them (like the Star Wars Death Star ice cube tray which is going to make a great stocking stuffer at Christmas!). Staff is super helpful but not in an overbearing/annoying way (happily checking the back for me when out of Cherry Wheat up front!) . What I love about this place is the selection and the prices. They are cheaper than other stores about 90% of the time. I love it when their ads have the $15 off a $100 wine purchase coupons. I have a list organized by aisle so I can quickly navigate the store. Actually, I also love their real-time inventory system that they have online. It's nice to know if something that I see in Wine Spectator is available there. The service could be better though. Either the workers are nonexistent or chatting amongst themselves, or they won't stop hovering and making unsolicited recommendations. They need to find a happy medium. read more

There is nothing, and I mean nothing, harder than giving a store that sells alcohol less than five stars. I'm not saying I'm an alcoholic, but I love vodka. My favorite TW&M is in Springfield, VA. That store did not mess around. It had what you needed, how you needed it, when you needed it. My addiction was sated here each and every time. Anyway, this was my first visit to this store. I've slowed down a lot in the years that I acquired the hobby of drinking great beer/vodka/wine so I don't make as many trips, or I just grab my favorite beer at Whole Foods, et al. So I was pretty excited to be walking into one of my favorite places! Walked in the door and immediately you're bombarded with bottles everywhere. If you were 12 and this was a candy store your heart would stop from the excitement. I'm not saying alcohol is my candy, but this looks like a pattern. Sorry. So, you THINK you have all these choices, but you really don't. This store has inventory, I know they sell a variety of things, but it's not as abundant an inventory as it seems. I love Chimay. They carry it, but it's a small selection. Their Polish beers were gone, but for one six-pack. They hadn't heard of others. I asked for three different kinds of bourbon, they'd heard of one of them. One guy that was 'helping' me also had this oddly annoying habit of actually having a microphone to talk into, but instead of using that, he'd walk to the front of the store to ask if they had what I needed. So weird. Everyone was pretty helpful and I finally found what I wanted sort of. So, I go to check out. They don't refrigerate a lot of the beers, but seemingly had a solution in a fridge that could cool them down in seven minutes. I don't know why I didn't do that with my beer while I was looking for bourbon, but I just didn't. I lost track of time and no one mentioned it to me so I was just wandering around and the store closed. By the time was up at the register it was about 10 after. The manager was visible perturbed. Let me tell you something. Perturbed is what you feel when you're in traffic, your dog pees on your floor or your next door neighbor doesn't return your rake when you need it. Perturbed is NOT when a paying customer is standing in your face about to purchase something from your establishment. I asked him if he wouldn't mind me cooling off my beer in his cooler for a few minutes as I'd forgotten to do it. Let me tell you, this man showed zero restraint in holding back his irritation that I was still in his store after closing AND wanted to stay longer. I asked him if there wasn't someone else in the store still shopping, he said yes, I asked then if I could just cool the beer down until they got to the front. PERFECTLY REASONABLE REQUEST. He was so rude that I told him so. Seriously. YOU ARE RUDE. He didn't care at all. 'He was trying to get his employees home.' Welcome to RETAIL, rude manager. I wouldn't go back to this store and spend my money if my life depended on it. I'm not sure he realizes that everyone sells what he has elsewhere. I'm sad, though, I have always, always loved this place. Just a little patience and kindness would have given them a loyal customer forever. Boo. read more

A friend and I go into TOTAL WINE & MORE and we get carded. The cashier asks are you both at least 30 years old? (If you are going to card someone, What does being 30 have to do with anything?) My friend says I'm not, and I say I am! So the cashier calls for a manager. Me: "What's the problem?" Mgr: "I can't sell you alcohol if he doesn't have ID proving he's 21. Me: I'm 51 so what's the problem? You have my ID!!! So, I try to send my friend back out to the truck. Mgr: Well we can't sell you alcohol for 24 hours now because you came in with him and he doesn't have an ID proving he's of age. Me: You are going to make us go all the way home to get his ID? I showed you my ID, That's not good enough??? Mgr: There's a problem with a 3rd party (adult) providing alcohol to minors. Adults providing alcohol to minors!!! Is he your son? What does that have to do with anything? I couldve said yes!!! The manager said well if he Isn't 21 he shouldn't even be in the store! Well he was in the store and we shopped for at least 15 minutes. (Isn't that my responsibility as the adult purchasing the alcohol, to NOT provide alcohol to minors? He's 24 and a United States Marine that I said I would vouch for his age!) THAT'S RIDICULOUS AND TOTAL BS! THEY GOT THE & MORE RIGHT! I will not shop there and urge all of you to do the same! They are making up the Law and enforcing it in their way, for their convenience or their lack of enforcing the card everyone requirement! Don't be fooled by the name of this store as it should be giant LIQUOR store and more. It does have a huge selection of wines, but it also features everything from 30+vodkas, whiskeys, bourbons, microbrews, cheap brews, pbr (gets its own category), and even kegs! We've gotten kegs here before for parties and they will hook you up with the tap, bucket, ice, etc. Anyways, another reason why I love this place. It was thirsty Thursdays and my friends and I were trying to figure out how to concoct this delicious newly discovered drink called Moscow Mule and this was the only place that would sell ginger beer and bitters. So my 21 year old son went here to buy me, his father, a Father's Day gift. He had his little brother with him so he got total harassment from total wine. They told them they couldn't sell to him because my younger son was with him. What was he expected to do leave him in the car in 110degree heat? Total waste of time! If you are looking for a variety of beers this is your place. You can also buy one or five. If you want to try a beer you don't have to commit to a whole six pack. Nothing is worse than buying a six pack and the first taste is dreadful. But you drink all 6 because you feel guilty not to finish them. They could improve on their soda selection though. I stopped for beer and to make shots for a football game. Had to make an extra stop at the gas station because they did not have all my needs for my shots. Do not stop if you are in a hurry. First of all you will get lost in the aisles. It can be a tad overwhelming but in a good way. The second reason you need extra time is if you have an out of state license. Both times I've stopped they have had to have a manager double check it. Now I'm 27, but I guess they think I have a fake ID! read more

I love Total Wine. My husband loves to try different craft brews; I love to laugh at the names and labels. But some of the people that work there should not be around people. Today, we went to get my sister a gift and fill a growler. I asked a guy about the Christmas sweet moscato wine and if he ever tried it. He was the most arrogant, pompous jerk about it. Saying he hasn't and has no intention of doing so. And I joked saying, "But it's a Christmas one; best time of the year." And he said, "I'll just believe you." I'm not going to force Christmas on anyone, nor judge, but to be completely rude and make me feel so small for doing so was wrong; especially at his place of work. I will never be asking for help again, and may just go to BevMo down the street to not be treated like my beliefs are like believing in the Tooth Fairy. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. As an instacart shopper, I had an employee refuse to help me locate a beer item and was completely unprofessional with me. She had attitude, threw her hands up and apparently works for the customer service desk. What kind of customer service is that?! I'm still a shopper searching for items in a store I'm not familiar with and this shouldn't even be an argument when drivers need help locating items. I've been to multiple total wines and never experienced such rudeness and laziness. I spoke to a a manger and she stated they're not allowed to help us, that we're paid to find these things. Cool. Sometimes it's out of stock and we as drivers have to ask if it's in stock or sometimes there's not enough stocked. Every time I've gone to total wine and more, I've had to ask someone for assistance and no one has ever told me they couldn't help me or wasn't allowed to help me. I'm truly disgusted by this behavior and will be reporting it even further. That's no way to treat people. read more

I've been to Total Wine many times before but my visit today (Tuesday) was disappointing. Many of the beers in the craft beer isle had not been restocked since the weekend. Shelves were bare. Employees in the aisle joking around and in the way of a shopper (I might add). The store with all of the stock and ladders around, was difficult to navigate. Went in looking for a specific wine recommended to us. Wandered around the aisles looking for the brand, couldn't immediately find it, so I went looking for help. Was actually faster looking (and finally finding) the last bottle of the wine I was looking for. Maybe 1-2 assistants on the floor, and they were both occupied. Would think at a peak time (7 PM-ish on a Friday), might have more help on the floor. Went to go check out. Cashier moved as though she was trying to take out a wrenched ankle from the old "Operation" game without hitting the sides. As we waited patiently to pay, another clerk opened up a third register and promptly took the people who were last in line first, instead of us.
