The wait is finally over! We have been waiting for this opening ever since they announced. They had a soft opening in October and have been planning to go ever since. Located in between LA Fitness and target, they have found the sweet spot. As we entered there were carts for kids separated, such a nice attraction for the kids. Their quirky labels always get me. Their collection is great whether fresh fruits or vegetables. I love their meat section too, since they have the option of pasture raised and organic ones reasonably priced. What I love is their frozen section, so much to pick from. We shopped quite a bit & also got a free pretzel making kit, isn't that thoughtful.

    Some frozen offerings.

"Trader Joe's, beloved for its eclectic mix of affordable organic products, quirky branding, and friendly atmosphere, is embarking on a significant expansion. According to a leaked document shared on Instagram, the grocery chain plans to open 24 new locations across the United States, adding to its already extensive network of over 530 stores." ― sunset.com This Chandler location is one of the new 24 locations. Very cool! This location is great. Like all Trader Joe's, it's a fun place to get some great items. I love Trader Joe's just like everybody else. I see Trader Joe's like how I see Target: You think you're gonna go in for a few items but you always walk away with half the store. "I'm just here for the Triple Ginger Snaps." Then why are you grabbing jars Speculoos Cookie Butter, packages of frozen kimbap, some bottles of melatonin [I have issues with sleep, okay?], boxes of frozen mac 'n cheese, a stalk of Brussels sprouts, and tubs of clam chowder and lobster bisque like a zombie apocalypse is about to go down!?! And really, do you need another pot of succulents or basil that will just die in this Arizona heat? Yeeeeeees, of course you do~ So grab your cool looking Trader Joe's reusable bags [go green!] and shop here! Their seasonal items and holiday items are always fun to peruse.

YAY! TJ'S has finally landed in Chandler! I have been a Chandler resident for over the past 26 years and have seen the Mesa, Ahwatukee and the Gilbert store open but typically enjoy the Tempe location. When I visited on Oct 13 it had many employees stocking even during the prime hours so not to run out of their products. With "Pumpkin Palloza" happening, I was told that some regular items were temporarily unavailable due to lack of space. No worries, I never leave empty handed because I always find something else I didn't know I needed! LOL It has been five days since this location opened and the store and carts are clean and shiny! While the Tempe store is still my go to, I'll happily drop by this TJ's location again. Welcome to Chandler, Trader Joe's! We have been waiting a long, long time for your arrival!

Well, I give you 1 stars for service. I am from California, so I know very well about Trader Joes. I have a few experiences about the new store in Chandler, AZ. The place was clean and organized. But service wasn't good. Employees were talking to each other not much pay attention to customer. I don't see those behaviors at sprouts. The lady at Cashier, she was talking to the lady next to her. Her name is showing on recipe. Store 0287 till 3 8-28-25 12:33, her name is Sylvia. Please let her know when you are at register. Pay more attention to the customer and welcome us. Then the cashier came to her register, helping put my groceries. Keep talking and talking. I'm very disappointed. What I'm expecting? Is this Arizona style or Arizona version. Lol

This one opened today 10/8/2024! It is on the NE corner of Arizona and Ocotillo next to the LA Fitness/Esporta and across Arizona from Hamilton HS. I'm sure people who live around there are excited and it was packed. They had all the typical things at Arizona prices. This includes all the pumpkin groceries since it is the Fall. All the workers are very friendly and understandingly excited about the opening. Will be very convenient to have this location, especially if you live, work, or go to school around here. The workers did say that a lot of Hamilton HS kids have come through.

I had an incredible experience here the other morning and just felt the need to give a shout out to…read morethe awesome cashier!! They had a promo going for a "free" mug with a $25 purchase. The mug was really cool and AZ themed, so I had to get it. I picked out some of the cake slices as well as some baked goods! I also ordered the Vietnamese coffee drink and added sea salt and brown sugar. It was delicious but definitely on the sweeter side. I think I would skip the brown sugar next time. When I arrived, they were out of the Berry Tales on the floor which are my favorite. I asked if they had any made in the back and it turns out they'd recently made a fresh batch and were letting them cool. Assunta got me a couple of those and then helped ring up my order. She was very very nice and gave me an extra slice of cake. When I mentioned they were for a birthday, she also gave me some candles and birthday chocolates to put on top. I really appreciated this and can't thank her enough for going the extra mile to provide such awesome service! I love 85, Especially this location in Chandler. Definitely check it out sometime.

There were so many options that it honestly took me a while to decide what I wanted! I really liked the self-serve bakery concept because it lets you browse at your own pace and pick out whatever catches your eye. They have a great mix of both sweet and savory items, along with an extensive drink menu featuring both hot and cold beverages, so there's truly something for everyone no matter what you're craving. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and flavorful. The pastries were light and delicious, and the drinks paired perfectly with the food. You can definitely tell they take pride in the quality of what they serve. The only thing I'd mention is that they don't accept American Express. It wasn't an issue for me since I had another payment method, but it's something to keep in mind before visiting. Overall, this was a fantastic first experience, and I can definitely see why so many people recommend 85°C Bakery Cafe. Between the incredible selection, fresh-tasting food, delicious drinks, and unique bakery experience, I'll definitely be back to try even more of their menu.

Walking in the girls working that day were so friendly and helpful. I ordered an assortment of pastries. Cinnamon roll, strawberry puff pastry, chocolate chip cookie, cupcake, strawberry cream pastry and pistachio cream filled pastry. Prices are fair and there's so many options to choose from it's a bit overwhelming because I'm indecisive and want to try everything lol The pastries were all fresh and the ingredients were as well. The cream fillings in the pastries were fluffy and light. I wish the strawberry choux bun had a stronger strawberry flavor as it really tasted like just cream as well as the pistachio pastry. I'll have to try a mini pie and other goods next time I'm around!

We ordered a few different things to give a fair review, and honestly overall this place is just ok. Not horrible, just not that great. We had.. *sausage roll * ham and Swiss *cinnamon roll (regular) *cookies and cream cup cake *raspberry pop tart *chocolate chip cookie Sausage roll pastry dough was good, but the meat inside was not very flavorful. Ham and Swiss, the ham was just a single thin slice of deli meat. The cinnamon roll also missing something... maybe more sugar and better quality cinnamon? Perhaps salt in the dough? I'm not sure how they prepare theirs but definitely looked better than it tasted. Raspberry pop tart was my favorite item! Husband had no complaints on the cupcake.

I was only in the mood for pastries, but I would love to come back to try their quiches and coffee. There's a decent amount of seating, but not sure how busy it might get on a weekend morning. I opted for a kouign amann and a chausson aux pommes, which is like an apple turnover. Everything looked reasonably priced. The kouign amann and the chausson were perfectly flaky and hit the spot. I wasn't able to eat both pastries the same day, and I felt like they still held pretty well the next day. So glad I got to try this place and I'll be back!!

You order at the counter from the selection of quiches and pastries which are labeled with the price and description. Once you order, they'll heat up your selections as relevant and bring out to you with silverware. They also didn't mind cutting some of our items in half for sharing. We had the Malmaison quiche ($9.50, with bacon, ham, herbs, tomato), a ham and cheese croissant, and a lemon danish croissant pastry. The quiche was so fluffy and delicious! And the ham and cheese croissant was excellent. Very flaky and lots of fillings. The lemon pastry was good but I don't think I was in much of a sweets mood. Can't wait to come back for more!

You won't be getting dry bolo bao or pastries with an underwhelming amount of filling. Their traditional HK pastries are perfect and consistent every time. Lesser known fact: they've been killing the pastry fusion game. My favorite is a pastry that blends curry, pork sung, and green onion milk breads into one. They also have a milk bread loaf that's half green tea/red bean and half coconut. I think they've even had pork sung red bean once which is admirably wild?? Their latest releases have also been phenomenal. The flaky, sesame-covered radish and spring onion pies taste like they're straight out of a dim sum restaurant, and the salted cream custard bun was so aromatic and creamy. Also worth noting that BF Bakery has long since previous reviews resolved any fly issues. All pastries are bagged, and even free samples have been in sealed containers. So convenient to also be able to check out at the grocery registers if the line gets long!

We've only been to the one in Old Town Mesa, by the fine art theater. Just glad its not next door, because I'd start living there! Not to sound like a hoity toity food snob, (kind of like when someone says they are not a "conspiracy theorist," but then they go into great lengths about conspiracies -- I'll be a snob here. Their pastries and breads are next level. They aren't just baking an excellent product (which would be enough to make me happy in area that lacks artisan bakers) they are "crafting" baking art. I hate to compare to the European Bakery craft (because there are plenty of great American bakers) but Europe does have that as a trademark (at least France, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy.) If all I ate eat each day was one of their croissants, it would be enough - theirs just flake away from the outside, and then a tender airy sourdough inside. Pain au Chocolate - excellent. Croissant - excellent. Oh -- Chocolate Chuck cookie - unbelievable. Best I've ever had. Chewy, buttery, crunchy. Not caky. I'll be heading back for sourdough bread and other goodies. I know they're vegetarian, but I wanted to double check with her. She responds as "vegetarian means no meat, right"? All employees working at a food establishment should know what vegetarian means. This was quite baffling to hear. I asked her for a new slice because the one that was out on display was visibly burned and the other slice was touching pepperoni from the meat pizza. As mentioned, I'm a vegetarian. Therefore, I could not have either one of those slices. She proceeds to say that's how the pizzas are. They are slightly burned because they are so sourdough. While I can accept this answer, I do not accept the fact that she would not be willing to give me another slice as a paying customer. She insensitively said she can't give me a new one until all the old slices are taken up. She mentioned that this is their procedure. According to this, they are saying that they will not provide a proper product unless the old, damaged product, or unacceptable by the customer is used up first. If this is their business model, then it is apparent they do not value customer service. This business should have the competence to understand that if they want to sell a product, they cannot sell it in a condition that the customer is not satisfied with. Most importantly, being a vegetarian, they should have the sensitivity to understand that if a slice is touching the meat product then they cannot consume it. And again, the employee completely disregarded my health and religious beliefs by not accommodating me. You usually won't encounter problems when you're just trying to buy bread. However, it reflects on the business's employees greatly when there is a problem and they do not value customer service by resolving or accommodating the customer's satisfaction. I will be switching to Noble exclusively. Especially since it's so readily available at the farmers markets and stores.
