A friend of my boyfriend's was in town for her birthday. Needless to say, she was having a shinding and we were all bound to get together. Given that boyfriend and our friend opted to get her some alcohol, Total Wine was the place to go. Before this Saturday, I had often passed by Total Wine, but I had never gone in. I really didn't have a need to. At any rate, wow, I wish I had gone earlier. Going inside the store, the selection not only of wines, but of other types of alcohol, simply floored me. They even had taste-testing tables. The first table we went to was a wine table attended by Marci. Marci was a sweetheart, letting us sample wine. I am not much of a drinker, but she found the wine that I fell in love with. She even told me about ways I could enjoy it more. I was going to buy the wine, but then our friend bought the bottle for me; thank you, Bob. Other than that, we went to a tequila table where we were attended by Catherine. She was also attentive, but eh, after trying that tequila, I definitely think I should have had that tequila first and the wine later. Oh well; I will make a note of it for next time. I came to total wine in a group with the intention of purchasing lime juice. Who knew 100% lime juice would cause so much controversy? I go to the registers to purchase lime juice and my whole party was asked for ID. All of us over 21 showed our ID. I was very confused because lime juice does not have any alcohol in it. So why am I getting ID'd? One of the people in my party was under 21 so they originally said we couldn't purchase the lime juice because we weren't all over 21. This was very frustrating. We said that we would just leave to not cause issues, but they said we could not leave the store or else it would be a "no sale". The manager came over and asked us what we were purchasing and our ages. Eventually they approved the transaction, but it wasn't worth the hassle of waiting. Word of advice: if you're in a group buying a non-alcoholic item from Total Wine, just don't do it and instead go to a supermarket. read more

if I could give it 0 I would, this is my second time I have had a problem buying liquor from this store specifically, I had a bottle that the cap was broken (I didn't realize until I got home that there was liquor everywhere) then my friend had got me a wine from this store, and for some reason it popped. Ulysses helped me find some good affordable single malts and fantastic tequila(try cincoro) and allowed me to sample prior to purchasing. The very best place in the area to find an unbelievable selection of beer, wine and spirits. If it can't be found or obtained here, distribution laws and practices prevent it from being found anywhere in the area. Not only is the selection enormous and varied by type and price, but the staff is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. Ask them for help, especially if you are seeking a gift for someone and you are not familiar with a particular beer, wine, or spirit. They can give you great suggestions that will fit any price range. I have been coming to this location for over four years now. everyone is always very friendly and helpful but I always stick with Justin Tarride, he is amazing very knowledgeable and whenever they haven't carried a wine of my interest he comes through matching the desired qualities to the smallest detail and most always surpasses my expectations. For example in my recent visit for example I wanted a bottle of Conte Brandollin, it was not at the store but I still took two amazing pinot grigio both citrus and crisp ( Tesoro della Regina) and the other, floral and elegant (Corvarra Armani) great duo, my Gf's mom loved it. Overall super friendly, smart and wine savvy guy. I recommend asking for him in particular. There are certain items that are only available at Total Wine which is exactly why a trip here is well warranted for specific items. I love the lavender liqueur that pairs perfectly with champagne. They also have the most delicious hibiscus syrup with edible flowers that's perfect for entertaining and presentation. The aisles here never end, I mean literally. If you can't find it here, then I don't know where to send you. There's so many options in every department that it can be actually difficult to decide at times. I love liquor stores that I walk into and automatically have the shopping cart option because it's the most suitable to my lifestyle. Craft beers are not scarce here in any sense of the word. The level of happiness I get from walking in here and pulling a carte Blanche are close to none. Every single time I walk in to buy alcohol I get discriminated because I look young. I am 24 years old with an id. The manager is a prick who told me I couldn't buy alcohol tonight and that I had to come in the morning at 10 am. I am done coming to this location. I wish I knew his name. The cashier who was helping us also was like u were born in 2000 I have to get it approved by my manager. Ridiculous. Was with a friend who is also 24 they didn't accept her id because it was on her phone. So basically if you are over 30 years old you are able to buy and if you are in your 20s don't even bother. Old ass people only. I just want to add I saw a comment from lady who said she was profiled for her bachelorette party and they checked ids multiple times below. So basically I am not the only one who has experienced the profiling. The funny part is I grew up in this area, I have came to this same store multiple times growing up with my parents and it was never an issue when they were buying liquor and I was underage. And to make it funnier I have came and my stepmom had everyone giving me liquor for a taste test at 17, no one thought to think twice when I was with 30 - 40 year old. I have been able to buy liquor for 3 years already and this is the only liquor store that gives me a hard time WITH AN A VALID ID. Walking into Total Wine is like opening up Christmas presents on Christmas Day. That's the excitement I feel here. Love that they opened at The Palms at Town and Country. Formally known to most of us as town and country mall. Getting into the mall can get quite hectic on any given day, but there is plenty of parking available out front. The staff is extremely knowledgable. I came in asking for a Tempranillo that a friend of mine recommended. The problem was I couldn't remember which one, only that it had a white label. Well to my surprise the person helping me took me straight to where I could find it and I did! Then we talked Rose for a bit, and ended up bringing home an excellent bottle. Love that each wine has a description as well as ratings. You'd be surprised how some of the more economical bottles actually have better ratings. The store is very organized and well stocked. The prices are affordable. You can find something here for any budget. I especially liked the aisle with gadgets. Ended up getting a few items. I am so used to corner wine & spirit shops in NYC that generally have a poor selection and are overpriced. I have been to a few state liquor stores in places like NH that have a lot to choose from, but Total is on an another level. They have have literally almost every wine and liquor imaginable. I was almost overwhelmed. I was there to buy liquor and wine for Thanksgiving. I found the booze I was looking for as you might expect. There was a champagne / sparkling wine / rosé tasting going on and the staffer was very friendly, knowledgeable and not pushy at all. I wish I had more time to explore the place, but next time I am in Miami, I am coming here for my wine and liquor. read more

They have everything you need, all the types of spirits and beer and mixers. All of it. They have helpful descriptions of the selections, it helps a lot when trying some new craft beer. I like the little "build your own 6-pack" boxes they have. You can also ask the staff, I've asked for help a few times and they have always been super helpful & friendly. They sell cigars too. I especially enjoy all the minis. I found a mini cava and a mini prosecco yesterday. Perfect for when I can't kill a whole bottle by myself but would like to enjoy some bubbly. I've got 99 problems but a bourbon ain't one! Total Wine has such a WIDE selection of wine, beer, spirits, mixers, cigars, and snacks that I could spend ALL day in this store. This is is the adult version of a candy store! Throughout the years I've frequented this Total Wine and have always had a great experience. Today upon walking into the store they had 2 vendors set up. The first was a representative from Spooky mixers selling mixers with natural ingredients like agave and honey. They had 4 Bloody Mary mixes and sweet and sour, pina colada mix, strawberry daiquiri, mojito, rum runner and margarita mix. Randy was pouring a variety of samples for us and discussing the ingredients and spirits he uses to make drinks with the different mixers. They were all delicious! To be frank, I'm not necessarily a Bloody Mary drinker but I have been converted! We ended up leaving with the Spicy Chipotle (which he said was also good to marinade shrimp in,) dill pickle blood Mary mix, and margarita mix (which was better than any mixer I've ever purchased before.) Randy was even kind enough to pour us a Siracha Bloody Mary mix which is not available at Total Wine yet, but they are selling online. It was awesssssommmme! The next table we visited had a red grapefruit liquor, which was very fragrant and sweet with an alcohol content of 40%. This liquor was delicious to be had as a digestif after dinner. After our Costco-like tastings we navigated the aisles systematically but got side tracked at every turn. We ended up purchasing a variety of wines to pair with dinners we had planned for the week. It is so sad that what used to be a really good (5 stars) store has turned into a mediocre store. Today I passed by the store for the second time after buying multiple bottles in the first visit. It was the second time because I forgot to pick up a 2oz jigger. I looked on their website and the website said they had a copper jigger in stock for $14.99. I went back to the store to pick it up. After I found a gunmetal jigger that had a very clear price tag of $14.99 I proceeded to ask one of the employees for the copper one. The employee replied that while even if it shows in stock online, if it's not on the aisle, it was not in stock. I ended up grabbing the gunmetal jigger. At register the cashier scanned the jigger and the price reflected $22.99. I told the cashier that the price marked on the aisle was $14.99. We both went to the aisle where the jiggers showed a price of $14.99, with at least 4-5 more jiggers in the same spot. To my surprise the cashier just said this is wrong and the only thing he does is take the price tag off. As we go back to the register, I'm thinking he is going to adjust the price. To my surprise he just said that price it's wrong do you still want to take it for $22.99. I told him didn't we go to the aisle and we both saw that the only price was $14.99? I ended up asking for a manager. The first manager shows up without a care in the world didn't even acknowledge our presence and just took the price tag and went back to the aisle to verify for herself. At this point the communication was over the radio. This manager never came back. A second manager shows up, and to my surprise a second manager without a care in the world too. She also said I'm sorry but all is marked wrong, do you still want to take it for $22.99. I said no and as disappointed as I was I walked out. This is when I saw the first manager that was supposed to help out outside on her phone. This store was one of my go to store and it's so sad that they I DON'T GIVE A F GENERATION is in a management position at this store. It will be really hard for me to step back in to any Total Wine store. I ended up going online in Amazon and ordering the same product for half of the price and didn't have to deal with the ineptitude of the Total Wine staff . First of all; I'm beyond flattered that they think I'm a minor (someone that's about to be 30); second of all I completely understand it's store policy to ask for ID every time you go buy something here. But let me enlighten y'all... #1 we've been here before; my husband and I; came in together and they've only requested to see his ID. I don't usually get offended when things like this happen but c'mon Total Wine; ensure you ask for ID EVERY time. There's clearly something wrong with this location if we've been here before and my ID hasn't been requested - and it's just a matter of looking up my account with my number and seeing the MANY times I've purchased things here. Thank you for the inconvenience of kicking me out of the store and making me stand in the humidity and the sun, MUCH F*CKING APPRECIATED! Great selection. I love that there are often tastings on weekends. I'm not crazy about the organization of the store. If you're looking for a particular beer it can often be in one of a few locations (e.g., seasonal section, country of origin section, brew type section). Then, the alphabetical order that items should be in isn't adhered to perfectly. This means that even employees aren't always sure of where to find things. Good place to find something new, but only if you have some time to look around. read more

If I could review with zero stars I would. Not only was the service awful but my husband and I were offended by the treatment we received. My husband purchased a beer of his choice and upon payment presented his id. The cashier proceeded to ask for mine as well. I explained that I would not be drinking and was not carrying my wallet with me at the time. They called the manager and made a scene because according to their rules and regulations all adults must show ID. I was appalled and mortified that the manager said we had to leave and return with my id. I completely understand ID'ing for the person purchasing an alcoholic beverage. However, I find it extremely disrespectful to treat a 31 year old as an underage teen trying to smuggle beer. What I find extremely humerus is that my husband had 5 beer tastings in the store and wasn't asked for ID once. Total wine... Your employees are completely incompetent and disrespectful. Overall I like this store. We come to this location once every 3-4 months to stock up. It's large, it's clean and has variety of any kind of alcohol you could think of. There's lots of boxes for free to take the dunks in your car, and the store is neatly labeled. Lately though it's been getting worse, employees act like they are hiding from customers and walk away really fast. Last time we went the cashier started throwing bottles into boxes, and one actually cracked, and charged us for something we never bought. read more

What still amazes me is the huge variety of alcohol: From a bottle of tasty coconut rum which cost $6.95 (they do not bring it over any more) to a bottle of wine with a sticker price close to $2,000! I brought my father whom used to live overseas to this location back in 2014, and his words were : 'Is this the paradise or what?' He was checking for a particular kind of Italian white wine named 'Lambrusco' or something similar and although the store didn't have it, the lady who dealt with my father and me was very polite and friendly, even called their corporate office to check if they would order that type of wine any time sooner... Also I stop there when my half orange and yours truly want to have some Canadian or German beer which usually you do not find at any supermarket... I've been here many times to always buy the ice wine they offer here. NEVER have I EVER had to show my ID on multiple occasions, one of the older cashiers even went to the extent of asking me to show my face to see if it matched my ID. They didn't ID any one else but me, and I find this awfully discriminatory and disrespectful. I understand to show my ID once and move on but THREE TIME AND TO MAKE SURE IF ITS EVEN MINE? He even helped me take my friends gradually from white wines to red! I told him they only drink Riesling and pucker their faces with Pinot Grigio. I LOVE this store. I have probably spent thousands upon thousands of dollars here considering we are buying craft beers, wines and liquor every weekend. Their customer service is generally wonderful but this Saturday it was less than stellar. I approached the sample area. There was a lady sampling out wines to customers. There were about 3 customers sampling wines. I stood right next to them, up at the very front. Yet the total wine employee wouldn't even acknowledge me. It took one of the other customers to point out to her that I wanted a sample. She was finally forced to stop ignoring me and instead of saying "sorry about that!" She just said "can I see your id?" As though I was bothering her. I show her my ID and she says "you look like you like sweet wines".. I'm sorry but what the hell is that supposed to mean? Why not ask me what I like? I actually hate sweet wines. She proceeded to pour me a wine without even going over all of the wines they had available to see what I would like. Then after she poured me the one she assumed I'd like she went back to ignoring me. I then had to ask her if I could please sample the Malbec and she made a comment "you drink malbecs?"... At this point I felt really annoyed and just walked away. This was such horrible customer service and in no way appropriate to treat someone. I look young and bubbly. On weekends you'll see me in jeans and flats very down to earth -- but I am a 30 year old professional, well traveled and cultured. You should never ever judge someone by the way they look and treat them badly because of your own ignorant and biased personal opinions. Absolutely ridiculous. I have come here two days in a row gathering bottles of wines and beers to make gift baskets for family, friends, and coworkers. Today I had my roommate accompany me for the second time and upon check-out we were both asked for our ID's. This is totally fine considering we are 23 and look rather young, but I was unable to purchase my bottles of wine because my roommate did not bring his wallet with him EVEN THOUGH he was just there to keep my company. The cashier called over their manager, who had actually helped me on my last visit (to which my roommate had also accompanied me on) and the cashier who checked me out was there as well. The manager told me that he remembered me but not my roommate and that I would not be allowed to purchase my drinks for 24 hours. What the actual hell? I understand if there was somebody checking iD at the door, but for christs sake, their were children all over the store and I had been there TWO DAYS IN A ROW a spending $100+ in products. So rude and inconsiderate. They gave us the option to drive all the way home and get my roommates ID but I would rather pay double the price at publix across the street than ever have to deal with the likes of this rude manager. read more

Well, while that feeling may be gone from Toys R Us, it has migrated to Total Wine (although you may require a bit more than $20, depending on the level of happiness you require). The prices are very fair, the selection is beyond compare and the staff members are all knowledgeable. Very knowledgeable. Seriously. I know people like to throw that word around but where else can you have a 45 minute (not kidding) conversation with an employee about Bourbon, then jump to 20 minutes on Beer, rounding it off with 15 minutes on Tequila? From recommendations to tastings, specials and coupons to events and classes, THIS is the place to go for anything and everything alcohol related. While I am mainly a Whiskey and Rum man, I often wander the aisles looking for the "Staff Picks", and so far these little stickers have not let me down. I try to sample a new bottle at least once a month, and mixing it up with the build-your-own 6 pack is always fun. Into cigars? They have a huge selection of cigars as well! If you're ever looking for variety when it comes to alcohol in Kendall this is your spot. I personally love this place because it's so huge! They always have what I'm looking for and the staff has always been super friendly. A lot of the times they will have tastings for customers for any new alcoholic beverage that has or will be launching. The place is always impeccably clean and someone is always nearby to help you find what you are looking for, which is great considering you can easily become overwhelmed due to so many isles and selections of alcohol.
