DO NOT COME HERE if you're any person of color. You will be given an unnecessary tour of the store!!!!??? As soon as my friends entered they were immediately approached with what they had first thought was just welcoming customer service but ended up becoming a walk through of the store (which was not asked for but thanks?) & followed with unnecessary and uncomfortable helicoptering. Upon checking out all 3 were asked to show their ID's (& all were of legal age being over 21). They were questioned and a second employee was called at the register to verify my friends ID's, he was inferring they were all fake. After questioning them he then asked about their 4th friend and where she was because she had originally walked in with the group (mid shopping experience she decided to step out and sit in the car because she wasn't feeling well & what they thought was going to be a quick stop just to use a gift card turned into a tour and profiling). Him asking that made them feel uncomfortable, it felt weird that they were being hovered over then watched from a distance from the moment they entered the store. The employees dedication to not serve them was very clear as he continued to ask for the 4th friend to come from the car and have her ID checked as well (which she was of age as well but didn't have her ID and didn't plan on purchasing anything). First time shopping here and we were turned away. I am under 21, but accompanied by two legal aged men. Why would you have a sign that minors need to be accompanied by someone of age if we are still going to get ID'd and turned away? I was not purchasing anything nor was I taking samples. The person doing samples wasn't even there. The guy at the check out was helpful and helping us understand why we couldn't pay but it doesn't make any sense. The manger on duty didn't have to be a dick about how he treats his employees. The loud sighing and face of disappointment toward an employee informing us of something not to your liking doesn't need to be addressed in that way IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS! I genuinely felt bad for the employee helping us. But again, why do I need to be ID'd when your policy is something else. read more

When my local store was out of the wine I was looking for, I had to take a trip to their Newport Beach location. Looks can be deceiving. Outside it looks tiny. Even the parking lot is tiny, but the inside is tiered and all of their beer is in the back. Did I find what I was looking for? Yes. This location is one of my favorite Total Wines to go to! The staff has always been very friendly and helpful when I've had to ask where something is located. They also were very helpful one time when my boyfriend and I forgot to get something for an event and needed it chilled quickly. NO ONE NEVER WALKED UP TO US TO LET US KNOW THAT !!!! they just stared at us like idiots for not coming up to us let us know ! So , then your manger tells us we are band for 24hrs for bringing a minor in . How the heck were we supposed to know ? It's our first time here ! So, we are getting band for not knowing ? Then I called the store to let them know I read the policy online saying a minor is allowed with a parent or a guardian in the store. Makes no sense ! I spoke to Kendra and let her know they failed as employees for not coming up to us and inform us! It's fairly easy to navigate the aisles and find plenty of choices of your favorite wine, beer or spirit without being completely overwhelmed by the volume. Also, the shelves are maintained very clean and orderly. I also should mention that the staff there are very helpful with finding what you need. Just ask and they will send you to the right aisle. Occasionally I come here and ask for advice for gifts for friends, alcohols that I don't have a good opinion on or experience with. One of their employees, Jim, has helped me pick several different types of scotch and Kentucky based whiskeys, all of which were received very well by those gifted to. When I think of Total Wine & More somehow I envision Bed Bath & Beyond, but for booze. Haha. Somehow I think I need my head examined?!? Typically BevMo (keeping it real) is my go-to for adult beverages, but I was on the hunt for some cutwater Bloody Mary (non-spicy) and oddly enough this location specifically was one of very few in the area that had it so hence my introduction to TWM. From looking at their inventory online what stood out was the variety. I could see there were tons of wines, beer, and hard liquor I've never seen or knew existed. To see that brought on the equivalent joy of a 5 year old in a candy store devouring a pixie stick then letting loose at Chuck E. Cheese. Haha! On this outing I got to experience their curbside pickup option (since I'm still a bit unsold on interacting "indoors" yet during the COVID-19 era) and I must say they have been one of the quickest delivery times. There are three designated spaces right in front of the entrance which was a very intelligent design and others can certainly take note (so workers aren't going on a spiritual retreat delivering items to customers). The gentleman who answered our call when we parked and brought our drinks out was very professional and polite. We yucked it up briefly, but overall he set a wonderful tone for making us make this a return spot. Coming from Corona to this location can definitely be a trek, but with service like that it is certainly worth the tank of gas. read more
