So I was here on an usual Friday evening (4/19) browsing through the selection and came across this drink , Somrus. Just placed there with sample cups and no one to man the station. Intrigued, I went ahead and opened an already open bottle and was about to smell it when this guy, Fermin came held my arm , I would say rather tugged my arm. Fermin spoke quite rudely about him not coming to my home and open my refrigerator and drinking my drinks. I found his mannerism pretty disgusting and racist. I ended up in tears. Later, I did come up to him to enquire about his name and he realizing that something being up came on with his manager. When the whole story was relayed the manager apologized and assured she would have a talk to him. Fermin didn't apologize for his rude talks. Spoiled my evening. Didn't expect a normal trip to total wines would end me up me being in tears. P.S : the cashier was pretty nice and since I had this Harry Potter tee on , she consoled me and said "we nerds need to stick together and back up one another" . read more

I love this location. While I'm not a frequent flyer, I do like to stock up on my favourite wine when I'm in the area. Total Wine is the ONLY store that carries my go-to wine which already makes it the best, but I love their customer service. I am always greeted warmly by an employee and whenever I need help finding something, there is no shortage of employees who are willing to help out. Although I don't drink beer, my husband tells me that their selection is fantastic and he always finds a good local craft IPA. Total Wine is the only liquor/beer store that carries his favourite beer as well! Way to go Total Wine! When cashing out, look for Todd. This is my favorite liquor store due to the widest variety of beers. I've sampled so many because they have individual bottles. The prices are the best amongst other stores selling similar selections. There are always staff members wandering the isles to assist if you need suggestions, need to find that one drink you just cant remember but recall it tasted like grapefruit. I've been a customer of Total Wine for quite a few years and am a Grand Reserve member. Let me start by saying that their sales staff is fabulous. They are helpful, knowledgeable and eager to please. In short, you won't find better elsewhere. Now, as to the rating...their problem is the rest of their staff. Last August, I was three weeks post surgery and had several cases of wine in my cart. I went to the first available cashier, who promptly took my cart, rammed it into my mid-section and told me I would have to open all the cases and put each wine out individually. As I said, I've been a customer for a long time and all other cashiers I've had, have opened the cases themselves, made sure all the bottles were what they should be, and rang them up. Luckily, the cashier next to this woman, took my carriage, rang it up as was always done, and made sure this woman stayed away from me. Most recently, I again bought a few cases of wine and on the bottom of the receipt, the cashier pointed out that I would receive an $80 reward in my email the next day for the purchases. I had never really paid attention to the "rewards" before but any amount is greatly appreciated. The next day my "reward" came for...$20. I was told to call customer service. Ashley, from customer service, told me the amount was correct. I asked her if it were correct why does the receipt clearly state that I would get $80? She had no idea and after going back and forth she agreed to ask her manager. BUT...she told me she had a problem with me because she didn't appreciate my husband swearing at her in the background. I was horrified...I was totally alone at home with my dog...and NEITHER of us swears. I told her as much and asked to speak to her manager, I wanted her manager to listen to the phone conversation and get back to me. (a woman who hears voices is far more dangerous than anyone I want to speak to) Here it is...ten days later and I've heard from no one. I have to assume the "rewards" must be fraudulent...the manager listened to the conversation and knows they've hired a dangerous person, and hopes if they just ignore this long enough...so will I. I'll do better than that...I'll ignore Total Wine, their fraudulent "rewards," contact the District Attorney, and find a reputable company to deal with. read more

This is the Walmart of booze. They have every kind of alcohol, brands you didn't even know you needed, people who will help you find the alcohol since there are seriously aisles of each type. They even do tastings! You can try wines, vodka and an organic tequila all in the same day. I have never been to a liquor store like this one and now that we have found it, we never go to any other. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! This was my first trip and I was highly impressed! This is like a Sam's club for alcohol. It is about the size of your average grocery store except it is only filled with wine and spirits and also has dozens of helpful employees. I first walked in and paused at the wine section. Of course I had a deer in the headlights look because it is immense. An associate could see I was lost and asked if I needed help. I said yes, and he escorted me to the Pinot Grigio section of wine. It was against a back wall so I would have never found it on my own. He pointed out some of his favorites and told me about some popular selections. He was extremely knowledgable and helpful. I bought his recommendations and he was right, they were perfect. Then I moseyed on over to the liquor side. I was looking for the Jim Bean Fire. Yet another friendly sales associate helped me find my purchase. I left highly impressed and will definitely be back based on customer service alone. read more

I had never stopped at one of these before because I was pretty sure that it was just some weird little wine shop, I didn't even know they sold liquor until a friend of mine told me I was overpaying for a bourbon I liked. I was surprised to find out that there was one on my way home from work and so I swung in one evening to refresh my bourbon stock and see if my friend was correct. Well, hell, they were. (And I hate admitting they're right, they are insufferable!) This place has a gigantic selection, almost so big it's easy to get lost in the store and you may need a signal flare. They have great prices (probably due to the volume they purchase) and they had the bourbon I wanted for a better price than I had found anywhere else! This was like a candy store for adults!! There were so many selections of wine, liquor, etc! I'm a wine-o so I wandered up and down every wine isle. They have them split by region and type. The staff was actually surprisingly knowledgable as well! One of the guys recommended a unoaked wine that was roughly $12. He told me it was amazing. I hesitated but figured heck it's just $12 why not. Well, he wasn't wrong! It was a great wine! So much flavor and I love that it didn't have an oaky flavor! First of all, let me just start by saying how beyond excited I am to have a liquor store so close to home (actually on my way home from work)! It's so conveniently located and much needed during the holiday season when we tend to gift wine and other spirits to our friends and co-workers. The prices are great and if you can't find what you're looking for at this store, you're officially out of luck! They literally have EVERYTHING which makes it a great one-stop shop for parties too! The setup is awesome...lots of room in the aisles for your cart (you will definitely want a cart) and the staff is super helpful! They even have a tasting area for private events and classes which is probably one of the only times I would enjoy being a student again. Yesterday I went looking for bottles of wine for friends, specifically Pinot noir, and was met by an associate who referred to himself as "Pinot Jimmy." He totally helped me with my selection and stayed within my budget which was fab! Quick tip, never leave the store with just FIVE bottles! You save 10% when you buy six or more bottles which you can mix and match. Also, don't leave before scoping out the gift section! They have a great selection of wine glasses, whiskey stones, cork boards, wine openers, wine preservers...the list goes on and on...and gift bags to complete the package! Love this place! They are always extremely friendly and helpful. I decided to visit them today (NYE - has to be one of their busiest days) because I wanted to see if I could find a sweeter champagne that I could drink to bring in the New Year. Despite how busy they were, I found someone who not only gave me a lil education on champagne, but opened a bottle for me so I could try before I buyed. I've been to this location a few times. If you've never been to a Total Wine... well... well well well... The place is HUGE. Warehouse huge. Costco huge. More booze than you could imagine. Wine. Beer. Liquor. Extras and mixers and everything in between. Like any warehouse-style big box store, it doesn't feel like a pop n mom place. Duh. True Spirits is still my go-to for whiskey, and its whiskey selection is very competitive. Even with this place. Combine that with a more personal experience and True Spirits is still my favorite go-to for whiskey. Especially bourbon. Go see Greg True if you want to talk bourbon. But Total Wine has its place. I go here for mini's, for instance. Great stocking stuffers. This is also, obviously, an amazing store for wine selection - and expertise. They have more wine than anything else. I also picked up some amaretto here today. Found a good knowledgeable guy on that front. And, if you don't give a crap about supporting local business, Total Wine has a LOT of everything that the booze world has to offer. And prices are low since they're a big box, high-volume store. The hard-to-get stuff is still hard to get here since a gazillion people shop here every day, but that's why that stuff's called hard to get. read more

So here's the good part. When you walk into Total Wine, you are expecting alcohol to be sold there. There's lots of it!! So to be clear, if you are expecting booze, you will be pleased as the variety is awesome and for wine drinkers like myself, there's LOTS OF WINE. Now lets talk about the service. I come here more often than I want to admit to, and when I do, I always receive spectacular service. Not only are they nice, they know their product. I'm a fan of wine conversation and I feel like the people at this location are very good at relating to the customer and providing what the customer wants and the price point the customer wants. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars and not five is because on my last visit, one of the sales guys "wine snobbed" my Mom. Now in all fairness, my Mom thinks White Zinfandel is wine; but she's still my 80 year old Mom and you gotta respect her. He wasn't mean, he was just a little condescending... she noticed and I noticed. It wasn't the end of the world, just worth mentioning that you gotta treat EVERYONE the same, even the senior citizens. Anyway, I'm so glad this place is here. Great store. If you are into Tequila, try to find Ferman and get his recommendations. I have a lot of tequila but learned some new things in our last visit with him. He steered us to two tequilas. Jose Quervo Reserva Del Familia a very nice sipping extra anejo and Codigo 1530, a really smooth Reposado. He also gave us some nice vodka recommendations. Me and my fiancé came in to pick up a few bottles of wine before we leave for our trip. The store was relatively busy and that is understandable for the staff to be occupied. The last thing we needed to pick up were toothpicks for old fashions and could not find them so we waited for about 15 mins to speak with a staff member. Once she got to us she immediately pointed and said "ask the man working in spirits with the green sweater". So we then went up to the older gentleman as he was talking to another staff member. When we approach, they are joking and laughing. She was a young woman and the convo we walked into was him trying to hit on her. We politely said excuse me and if he could point out where the toothpicks are. He then looked at us up and down and said I'm speaking to the girl give me a sec.... Ok so I have been back 3 times since my last review. I must have a real unapprochable persona to me or I stink. Either way ...every time I walked into this place there's always a group of employees standing around doing shit. You ask them a question and they look at you like your a damn fool interrupting a conversation of nobles. Heck I asked one guy once a question. In that moment I had a brain freeze. I was only able to get out " I am looking for ....." after an awkward moment he finished my question with "TEQUILLA ". I was no where near the tequilla and can only assume it was cause of my ethnicity. I can't say how much I have spent here because my wife reads these reviews now and then but I am sure it's enough for a very nice weekend get away. Ok back to the gripe- I think these guys need no be better trained on creating a customer relation as far as product knowledge goes I couldn't tell you. I Visited the store to get a birthday gift. I have never felt so unsafe. Aisles are very narrow no one practicing social distancing half the people in the store don't have masks on, including some of the workers at the cashier desk. Went in to find one thing and instead of using proper customer service and asking me if I needed help finding something I got harassed for not wearing a mask though they are not legally required and I told them I have medical exemptions so it's safer for me to not wear them. Ideally it would be great to come and take your time, talk to the staff, check out the merch, but somehow I'm always in a rush! Champs selection is decent, everything from low to fab! Cheapest prices on Vueve in DFW! They have everything you need to succeed as the host with the most. Sooo excited to have a convenient liquor store in town now! I love me some Goody Goody, but it is sometimes out of the way! This place took over what used to be Rooms to Go.. so the space is a certainly a decent size. We decided to check out the Grand Opening and I was impressed the second I walked in. The layout of the store feels right and the selection of wine, beer and liquor is huge! The prices seem reasonable if not cheaper than other places. I did spot a brand of wine called "Double Dog Dare" and it was under $3! Yep, bought me a few bottles of that to try - and maybe it is just a fun name, but who cares! The employees were all friendly and actually knew their stuff - not just sales-ie, but actually know the products and can tell you a bit about it! Impressive! They offer a lot of good "gifty" type items too - keeping this in mind for the holidays! Don't miss the large classroom/tasting room towards the back or even the tasting tables throughout the building - I will definitely return for a tasting class! I have been to Total Wines and More several times. In fact before they opened one here is Plano, I used to go to Dallas. They are legendary in their offerings, lots of selections, for wine, beer, booze. I really like the choices and for the most part I like the selections, but...I do have a complaint. I Like the fact they are in Plano and close. I do not have to go to Goody Goody now or Specs. What I have an issue with is the pricing and the knowledge of the so called experts. Let me explain... I like specific types of wine, typically, California, Big, Bold and Full. Cabernet Sauvignon, first and foremost, Napa, specific years and priced from $20-$60. I also like Malbec-Argentina, Merlots & Zinfindel-Califiornia, French Reds, blends, and NO Pinot Nior from the US. So that is my criteria, and what I told the person who was pestering me while I was searching out the California Wine section at the Plano store. I was VERY specific on what I was searching for and how I wanted it to taste, my expectations, including the years I did NOT want, specifically 2011 which is not presentable when referenced against other vintages from the same winery. The persistent sales person eyed my cart, saw I had 10 bottles of reds from all over the world and asked to help. I relented and gave my criteria, which was met with rolling eyes and no concern for my criteria. After I stated my price points, referenced the wine in my cart and stated the vintages I was interested in and citing several examples on the wall of well-known brands I was very familiar with, this person took my away my reference points to focus on the middle isle of what I believe are Total Wines private label wines or less know wineries at best. She "raved" on how great several selections she 'personally" tried were, even meeting the Vintner the other day and what a great person he was. I do not understand how marketing affects my taste buds but it seemed to have worked on her. I argued with her about the year, she was promoting and the unfamiliar label as I spend hundreds of dollars a month on wine and know what I know, but she insisted I "try" what she was promoting. I tried to steer her toward the wall and ask about more "well known" wines even more expensive wines, but she stood firm...on the center Isle. She cited the "ratings" to which is bogus as it was not referencing any "well know" rating agency like Parker, or Wine Spectator. I eventually relented, probably from exhaustion and thirst and purchased BOTH her recommendations of the center isle "off brand" wines, much to my eventual disgust and prompting me to write this email. Here is my take away: * Just because they work there they are NOT necessarily an expert * Listen to your customers, some are VERY knowledgeable, if you don't know something, be honest * The private label store brand has more margin for the store, I get it, but have your employees respect their customers * Every Wine label has a rating, most are meaningless especially on the private label wines * The pricing on some of the more popular wines were quite a bit more expensive that the local grocery store, thus making it more appealing to take the suggestion of the "expert" * I can tell this person was new to the store (it just opened) probably the industry, but I will NEVER take another recommendation for Private label wines from them again and I would caution anyone unfamiliar with wine to heed my warning. I ended up returning BOTH bottles of wine for a full refund...YES Total Wine will take it back, as long as you only took a glass or less that is. I parlayed my refund and additional $$$ for a 2010 California Cab that I WAS familiar with and had no complaints about. I write this because Wine is a blind item to most. Allot of people are intimated by wine and pick by sweet, vs dry or white vs red and the cool label. I choose to educate them and LISTEN to what they want to drink and not PUSH the store swill because the management needs to fill the squares and make the margins.
