I was having the hardest time sleeping doe 72 hours. My mind wouldn't stop. The doctor came in and said we don't give (so sorry I don't know the drug). I wasn't there for that. I needed help that could help me try to go to sleep. She was rude, she didn't care, and let the room. No labs, no exam nothing just mean words. I would not be there if I did t think something was wrong with me. I just stood up and told the nurse I was not staying and leaving. I will never recommend this place. They don't want to see the bigger picture. Pills don't fix everything sometimes coping mechanisms help. I didn't get even a chance to hear that. She has no bed side matter. This place is crooked! They charged me $48,000 (yes thousand) for a two hour evaluation of side pain and IV fluids. I got an itemized statement and I am double charged multiple times. Not only did they bill twice for many procedures, they charged me for things I never had done. Multiple line items were not performed (like an IV push, ketorolac, and more!) And to be billed for supplies not used? You didn't use supplies and I get charged?! There wasn't even a definitive diagnosis other than side pain! I will never visit them again. Of course, I am pursuing this further, but please be aware. My max out of pocket is $4000 and most of that was already met. Their billing makes no sense. I have a hard time getting through to anyone when I call. Their billing customer service or getting anyone outside the hospital on the phone is non-existent. I've sent emails and called multiple time. We also had an awful experience with a nurse and had to request to switch nurses. The nurse started an IV without opening her IV kit and was not prepared. These are bad actors that take advantage of patients and insurance companies. I too was the recipient of a $10,000 simple covid test. My insurance rep (Cigna) called to talk me through it since they were not covering the entire bill. She said I may own them $6000 and even said it was ridiculous. They actually billed Cigna $100 for a box of gloves! When I called the office to ask about the bill, the woman on the line said, "You don't have to pay the rest. Will bill the insurance company whatever and dismiss the rest." I couldn't believe it. I reported them to the Attorney Generals office. Early Dec 2022, my daughter was in the middle of a week and a half asthma flair when we ran out of albuterol. We didn't have insurance, so a walk-in clinic/ER was our only option. We walked in and waited for less than 5 minutes before they walked us back to a room and set her up with a breathing treatment. When the treatment was completed and her O2 levels normalized, they sweetly offered snacks and drinks to us. The bedside manner and helpfulness of the entire staff was impressive and memorable. We walked out with blessings and prayers and a Rx to sustain my daughter sufficiently until our insurance would begin in Jan. The professionalism, the tender care, and thoughtfulness the staff of this ER was beyond expectation and crossed into what I've hoped "healthcare" could be. I received a Covid test last June 28th, paid my $50 co-pay, got the test, everyone was great at the clinic, no complaints there. Four weeks later, I still had not received my test results. Was ticked off that they took so long, but was negative so it was not that big of a deal. Fast forward to a few days ago when I got an appeal letter from my insurance company. When we arrived, the receptionist rejected us because our Cigna PPO insurance has a multi pay in the fine print on the back of the card. We had just used the same card a few weeks before at this very location for my husband, so apparently their policies change mid-month and the details are not publicly posted on the web or front door. Total Care was so friendly and helpful when I went to get a Covid test. The nurse fully explained what tests would take place and the process, and was very kind and patient. The doctor exhibited the same kindness and helpfulness. I had results within 15 minutes, and the follow up test within 24 hours. And, the doctor texted to make sure my experience was satisfactory. At a time when people are scared of Covid, the entire staff there worked to ease anxieties and see the patient as a person, not as something potential to fear. It was a great experience for a somewhat anxious circumstance. I would highly recommend. 3 minutes ago I took my partner to this ER due to chest pain the Dr on staff that day was absolutely the worst experience I have ever encountered! He did not run any test and came into the room and told her that she was having a panic attack and that nothing was wrong with her heart. Went to this place last June with some trash in my eye from weed eating the day before. I was there less than an hour total and the staff were very personable. But! That is were it ends! They put a couple of deading drops in my eyes and a drop of dye turned the lights out removed the the trash and done gave me a script for antibiotics in someone else's name I found out when I tried to fill it a few minutes later. I thought it was a good experience until I received the bill my insurance company had denied for $ 11328.00 omg!! Nope that is not a typo that was what they charged or let's say tried to charge my insurance. My insurance ended up paying about $3600 which is still way to high. They are complete and utter crooks out to take you and your insurance for the max amount of money!!Thus is what's wrong with health care today and why we can't afford it!! I was very sick on my Birthday. It was on a Sunday and I was in bed from Friday until Sunday when I felt a bit better. Saw the nasty white spots at the back of my throat and I was not going to wait until Monday to see my regular PA at Total Care in Crowley. Before I got my paperwork finished, I was in the back and was getting taken care of. The Dr. on call was my son's Dr. when he was younger. Total Rip-Off. Very very sneaky.. do not get tested for Covid here unless you want to pay the copay and then be billed for an emergency room visit as well. When I called i was told there would only be a $50 copay. I didn't see until i arrived, on a small sign it said you'd be billed for an ER visit plus paying the copay - i had already filled out the forms when i saw the sign so i asked about it and they said my insurance would be billed for the visit, when i asked she told me i would be billed for everything they used and did but couldn't tell me how much it would be. I left and did not get tested here because why pay that much when there are places that do it for free ?? She was experiencing heart problems and my Dad was planning on taking her to Harris Downtown but literally, Jesus took the wheel and sent him to the Benbrook location as it was just down the road from them. My Mom was rushed back and a team of 4-5 people worked on her and literally brought her back to life! They then assisted in getting her transported to Harris. My Dad went back in to pay the bill and everyone knew exactly who he was and they all hugged him and sat down and talked to him for a while to discuss how Mom was doing, etc. He wanted to let them get back to work but wanted to pay his bill. He was told he didn't owe anything!!! WHAT??? In this day and age? They were just so thrilled she made it and said their "payment" was bringing her in to visit once she was better. This was a great place. went in with a cut that needed stitches (stupid me) that would not stop bleeding, and since it was on the end my thumb in a circular pattern and a chunk taken out, it wasn't an easy thing to close. The Dr there was very professional, personable, and he accommodated me well in the situation. (asked which music I wanted, took my mind off while he worked etc.) I would recommend them if you have an emergency because they know their stuff and can help you out. They also seem to be fully stocked and staffed with things you do not find at one of those 24-hour emergency clinics like care now. The only thing is (and they don't hide it when you get there) they are a fully stocked er, which means that they will cost a bit more than a Carenow, but not as much as a hospital er. I didn't have to wait once I got in. The nurse also was just as personable, professional and knowledgeable with his skills just as the doctor was with his.
