I am absolutely in LOVE with my powder gel full set. Since I travel around the country frequently for work, I see a ton of different nail salons... So please believe me when I say that Dana (sp?) was one of the best nail technicians I have ever had. I received tips along with the dip nail powder, which typically takes some people north of 1.5 hours -- I was in & out of the salon in under 45 minutes. Within that time, she shaped my nails perfectly and even threw in a hand massage at the end. The rest of the technicians were also extremely kind and fun to talk to... They all referred to me by name to help place my belongings in a safe place while I was being seated. Everyone was masked, but I believe it's by the client's choice if you'd like to wear one. I was a walk-in appointment that was seated right away. I wish I still lived in town so I could be one of her regulars! What a bizarre place. It's really dark. Nobody in there appears to be under the age of 65. It's rather like having your nails done in a nursing home. The women who run the place are loud, brassy, and gossip amongst each other. Strange vibe. The manicurist who did did my polish change was fine. That's all I needed, a quick removal of old (regular, not gel) polish and apply the new one I brought with me. $15 o.0 Excuse me? A manicure there is $18. Most places charge between $7-$10 for a polish change when the manicure costs $18. It took ten minutes. The time was fine, the effort was fine, but the price is totally out of line with the other prices. You're definitely not paying for atmosphere, unless you want to pretend to be on the set of "Golden Girls in Hell". read more

I've been to Totally Polished a few times over the last few months, each time to get a gel manicure, and each experience has been great! They have a fantastic selection of the latest polish colors and the salon is comfy and clean. I highly recommend both Julie and Annie - they both do fantastic jobs and their gels haven't ever cracked or peeled! I usually call to schedule a same-day appointment a few hours in advance, and each time they have been able to fit me in during my lunch break. I was really surprised to see the average rating that this place has, until I started reading the reviews. Leaving a bad review because you were late to your appointment and they asked you to reschedule or because you asked for services that they don't provide seems a little ridiculous to me. I have always been on time and I have always been taken back immediately. This place is very prompt, so don't expect to sit around waiting for your manicurist, and make sure that you're on time so that you don't end up screwing over the people coming for appointments after you. I have an hour for lunch, and I have always been in-and-out in under 50 minutes, which is one of the main reasons why I keep coming back to Totally Polished! My only small issue is that they aren't able to put tip on your credit card, so I have to remember to bring cash to tip. Really not a big deal for such a convenient and well-done manicure! read more

I was able to make a day-of manicure appointment for a Friday afternoon. The nail tech was very polite, quick, and did good job. I brought my own polish to make sure it would stay. The manicure was $18, which is a little more than I usually pay. The salon was pretty loud and crowded, but was fine for a last-minute need. I was the last customer on 8/9/18. I've never had such an unpleasant experience getting a simple manicure done. The lady doing my nails was using a nail file to remove my gel manicure, and after I politely told her she was cutting into my skin with it, she gave an impatient response, noting she doesn't have 45 minutes to wait around until my gel comes off. I was not in the mood to get into a conflict so simply asked her to finish without doing my polish. Totally polished is fine if you're looking for a quick nail salon but the end result isn't fantastic. I made an appointment for a pedicure (over the phone as they don't have an online system). When I arrived, I noticed the place was very dated and dark. They had two options for a pedicure: a basic at $35 and an upgraded service for $45. I chose the upgraded service. The technician did a nice long exfoliation and massage, and I had no complaints there. She painted my nails and as I was waiting while they dried a little, I noticed they were terribly painted. The polish was all over my toes and cuticles. Additionally, they let me know it's an additional $1 to pay for the liner for the pedicure tub. I found this odd as I've never been charged for that before as it's a hygienic need and not necessarily covid. Usually it's baked into the price. When I got home, I noticed that somehow some parts of my toenails received no polish even though it got on my actual toes. My mom thought I had done them myself. I showed up today to inquire about a gel manicure since I had heard great reviews about this place from friends. Didn't even go to my appointment because my experience at the front desk was so bad! First off, when I showed up the lady behind the counter (white, dark hair, with a special needs child) was standing there rummaging through her purse. It took a few minutes for her to even acknowledge my presence. Once she did, I started to ask if she had any openings that day but before I even finished my sentence she goes "no." I then asked my question again, since she didn't let me finish the first time, and she responded with there was an opening at 5:30. She asked what I wanted done (I had said acrylic twice already) and when I told her I'd do 5:30 she rolled her eyes and penciled me in. Lastly, I asked how much it would be and she didn't even know! She had to ask someone else. I'm sorry but this was the most disorganized, rude receptionist I had ever met, so much to the point that I just left and didn't come back for my appointment. It felt off and I would have felt uncomfortable with this salon doing my nails how I wanted them. Maybe find a receptionist with better customer service skills! read more

My friend recommended this place to me and so I gave it a try. For the price I paid, the least I could have hoped for was a good experience and a good manicure. First of all, the place is under construction and was somewhat dirty. Second (and my biggest issue) I did a no-chip manicure and within 1 day the color of the polish started changing colors/fading in random parts of my nails and the paint job chipped within 2 days on several nails. What's the point of paying more for no chip if it looks horrible and chips in 2 days? I've received plenty of no-chip manicures and never seen this happen. They didn't know what I'd pay either. I'd feel better about it if she had at least taken down my information to offer to the manicurists, but she didn't. No spirit of good will in this place. I was in about a week and a half ago to get a dip manicure and it was probably the worst manicure I've ever gotten. The nail tech was sloppy and rushed through my nails. The dip is already lifting up off my nails after a little less than two weeks when my normal dip manicure lasts almost 4. I really wanted to like this place. It's location is incredibly convenient. I had my first gel manicure last week. It looked great when I left. By the time I went to bed that night, all the gel that had gotten on my cuticles separated and was curving up off my nails. In the shower, the nail polish snagged my hair it was so rough. Not having time to go back in, I carefully trimmed off the rough edges. By day 6 the gel had separated from one of my nail tips. I went in to talk with the nail tech. She didn't let me fully explain what happened on day one and told me that the separation from the cuticle was normal as the nail grew. She was skeptical about the separation from the fingernail but reluctantly agreed to "fix" it. She didn't remove the gel and reapply. (not sure of the proper procedure) She simply painted on another top coat (which of course wouldn't adhere the underlying polish to the nail). Before the end of the day, the "repaired" nail polish had chipped off entirely. Perhaps another nail tech would be okay, but the one touted as "the best" did meet the hype. read more

I just came back this salon, and had the worst experience. I wanted an express manicure on my lunch break. The technician scolded me for messing up my nails. By the time my nails were somewhat dry I was able to pay where I messed them up. That's when she scolded me for not being careful. After she fixed them I messed them up again. After already being chastised I wasn't about to do it again. So that was a waste of $14. She also didn't file my nails after cutting them and left me sitting so she could go eat her lunch. 1st time here to follow my fabulous nail tech. Was flabbergasted to discover there is a $5 up charge on gel to remove one's polish. ODD if you do nails wouldn't you expect you were removing someones polish. The next time you are removing the polish you put on them and you need to charge extra??? I have been having gel manicures done in various locations all over the US and never charged more to take my gel off. Higher priced than most nail places considering the amount of competition available. I went in to get my gel nail polish removed and get a regular manicure. The lady who wrapped my nails to remove the gel nail polish didn't want to do my manicure since she had another appointment and the lady who did it complained about my gel polish the entire time. She hates gel! We get it. Move on and do my manicure, but she kept complaining that the nails had to soak for an hour. They should have told me when I walked in to make an appointment. I told the receptionist that I had gel and wanted it removed. She could have told me that they were closing in an hour and 15 minutes and they didn't have the equipment to remove gel nail polish. Used a Living Social voucher for a manicure and neck massage. I liked the look of the shop, was greeted promptly and seated with a manicurist right away even though I was early for my appointment. I was very pleased with the manicure and the massage was probably the best I've ever had. I was given the full 30 minutes for the massage. This place is horrible. I got a deal for a manicure through Living Social and so I decided it to give it a chance. I made my appointment and when I first walked in the place looked weird. Then the lady who was going to do my manicure saw that my nails were gel and so she refused to do my manicure! She said, "Argh. You have gel and that takes too long to remove and I have another person coming in!!" I was shocked. Why was she rushing me during my apointment? She repeated that it was going to take too long (with an attitute) and so I told her to forget it. If she was going to give me an attitude then I didnt want a manicure. I then spoke to the person in charge, a light skin blond woman, and told her what happened. She said she was sorry but that the lady had been working for a long time there and that I should have come in 15min earlier to get the gel off!! I told her that I didnt know I had to come in early and that it wasnt a way to treat customers. She had no sense of customer service! She even proceded and said, "you can have my slot at 12:30 that's when my appointment is." I told her that I wasn't planning on returning and that she needed to put her customers first. read more

Today I went to Totally Polished Salon located in Cabin John shopping center. When I saw the salon it looked like they just open and was not welcoming in at all. I went in with a positive mood and told myself not to judge a book by its cover. The reception people were nice and welcome. By the way I went with my friend who I convince to go to because she does not easily trust just any salon. I made an appointment for a Mani while my friend made an appointment for a massage and a Mani. We were 10 mins late and the lady explain to us that since our mani appointment was for 12 that my friend would not be able to get the full 30 mins. I should have used that as an alert when she said that but I kept being positive and let it go because it was our fault for being late and we understood that. When my appointment came up I was picking out my nail polish and was waiting for my friend to come out to help me decide on a color. So I asked her if we can wait a few mins for my friend to come out to help me. Since the person who was suppose to do my friend's mani was to get her from my massage. The lady said no cause she had another appointment after mine and that my appointment was limited. I was surprised. I never went to a nail salon where they rush the customer. I took a deep breathe and said I will give her a chance. She did a good job but at the end she left me there sitting down when she said I will be back in a few mins. She didn't even said goodbye or thank you or I hope to see you again. Nothing!!! My friend was not soo lucky! She did not even get her mani. They lady who came who was suppose to do her mani went to get my mani at 12:10 from her massage. She didn't even ask my friend if she picked a color she said come and sit down. My friend try to be positive and just made a quick pick. When she sat down the lady was complaining cause she had gel and that gel took to long to get off. That she was suppose to come in 15 mins before her appointment to have them taken off. My friend and I had no idea about that and when we made the appointment they didn't not inform us. I get my nails done pretty regularly but my person was traveling. I had a gift certificate for this place and thought I would give it a try. I was hoping I would like it because frankly, it is super convenient location wise. But alas I was disappointed. They had Cheryl do my gel manicure. One word...HORRIBLE!! She did not trim cuticles and got the polish on the cuticles for a sloppy looking job that I just couldn't live with. And after one day, the polish began to chip. They charge $35 plus they charge an extra $5 to remove the old polish. Do not go here if you do gel because I don't think this salon does many of them and don't know what they are doing. My review is for Marta - she is THE VERY BEST. Truly, you won't be disappointed. She is so meticulous and her work is perfect. Every regular manicure I get from her lasts at least 8 days, usually 10 days or 2 weeks. I mostly get pedicures, which are also fabulous. The prices are a bit higher than your average nail salon, but for an appointment with Marta at least, its SO worth it!! read more

I went here to get a nice nail design on my fingers and toes for prom. I went in with no particular design in mind. I sat down and told the women to give me a nice, good design over the base color in silver, she put a hashtag on my fingers. It was fat and sloppy. It was $60 for regular nail polish and a mini pedicure and which seemed expensive for what i got. I went back the next day with a specific design on my phone. I asked them to redo the designs, which were only on four nails, and they argued about it. I finally got them to redo the nails and it was just as sloppy as the first time. I eventually had had enough of them and went somewhere else to get it fixed. Then next place the women talked to me about the design and what i wanted and we agreed on a pretty design and im much happier now. This is the approach i was expecting the first time. read more

Last week I went to Totally Polished for a facial with Sindy. It was the first time I had one with her and it was truly wonderful. She is very patient and calm. I was so relaxed that I fell asleep during my facial and that has never happened to me before. After my treatment, she explained the products that she used and was not pushy at all. She also gave me a few samples to take home and try. I did buy a few items because they use Dermalogica and I really like that skin care line. Afterwards, I had my usual weekly manicure. I go to many of the girls because they all do an excellent job. I think its one of the best manicures in town if you are looking for a really thorough job. I am very particular and have never been disappointed. I think you get what you pay for and if you are looking for a manicure to last for more than a week you have to try it! read more

I went to Totally Polished because I bought a Livingsocial deal for a manicure and neck and back massage. The massage was wonderful, however, I have never felt so insulted by a customer service worker before when I was getting my manicure! The woman's name is Queenie...don't ever get a manicure from her! She was totally unsocial the entire time I was getting my nails done, didn't talk to me hardly at all and kept talking in Chinese to the worker sitting next to her about another customer in the store - very unprofessional! She also rushed through doing my nails and did not put enough coats of polish on so you can still see through to my nails underneath. In addition, she kept insulting me by telling me multiple times that my eyebrows were "very hairy" and should be waxed. This is the rudest way to push a service on a customer that I have ever heard of. I will never be going here again! read more

I've been going to Totally Polished for more than ten years. With so many nail salons to choose from in this area, I have to say that Totally Polished is truly one of the most professional, clean and customer service friendly places I go to. I've tried a few others and found them a few dollars cheaper, but lacking in cleanliness, choice of the latest Essi and OPI polishes and just general responsiveness to customers. I love their new location and have always liked that they have edgy boutique clothing and jewelry that I've purchased for a last minute gift or event. Some of their technicians have been there for many years and I've received services from most of them. They are all very good and some are excellent -- it's just a matter of choice. They are also nearly always on time, but their timeliness is subject to clients who come on time. It's always annoying to them and the other customers when clients think it's OK to come 10 or 15 minutes late to a nail appointment. That just throws everybody off. read more

Totally unprofessional salon. I had called and scheduled a same day 15 minute electrolysis appointment and when I showed up for the appointment, the electrologist, Robin Hammerman, basically blew off my appointment. When she finished with the client before my appointment, she spent 10 minutes scheduling the client for her next appointment. She then proceeded to take her next client. When I asked the receptionist about my appointment, she ran to speak to Robin. Robin came out and said there was no way she could not see her client whose appointment was after mine since her appointment was on the calendar for weeks. She did not bother to look at her appointment book and the receptionist did not bother to tell her I had an appointment. I could not believe it. Because I was not an established client and had just made my appointment, she totally blew it off. Not how you expect a business to run and not how you encourage word of mouth clients. I would avoid these electrologists and the salon in general. I have never seen such an unprofessional business! read more
