Had this delivered ma ybuears ago but here, so decided to done in and was pleasantly surprised. I mean, when your meal starts with a fresh heated hand towel, that's a good sign. Now on to the food: - Assorted Aburi Sushi: Definitely assortment as there was a lot of variety. Great light sear on the sushi. Good protein to rice ratio. - Ceviche: Generous chunks of seafood, properly sour, with crackling chips on the side. - Panko Soft Shell Crab: Glisteningly deep fried exterior, soft and chewy interior. - Unagi Donburi: Standard taste but good portion size. Also liked how it had a lot of veggies. Service was topnotch. Kitchen was quick. Prices were reasonable and the 20% cash discount made them great for the quality you get. They have great variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options from salad, to tempura, maki rolls, special rolls, sushi and sashimi, teriyaki, udon and desserts. The owner and the staff are very friendly and deeply care about providing a great customer experience. They have indoor dining and a pack patio with great vibes. Decent spot for sushi if you're in the East End. The sushi was affordable and quick service. A great variety to choose from in the menu. Sashimi & sushi set: Reasonable quality for what you pay for. Great portion sizes. Black and White Dragon Roll: The rolls are a bit on the larger side (good for portions but difficult to eat). Tasted delicious despite it being a bit hard to eat because of the large roll. Tempura Roll: This came complimentary with the meal. The tempura exterior was a unique change from the usual sushi roll. Really liked the roll but also again same issue with being a bit hard to eat because the rolls were large to eat. Overall, I had a good experience at Toto Sushi. It's hard finding a go-to spot for sushi in the east end... Ordered the sushi and chicken gyoza which was delivered within the lunch hour. It came with miso soup and salad. The salad wasn't that fresh, found some wilted leaves in it. The presentation was also questionable, with brown pieces of lime decorated around the sushi. What I did appreciate was the sushi to rice ratio - big piece of fish, smaller ball of rice! The chicken gyoza tasted average. For the price I paid, I was expecting higher quality, so it is disappointing Toto won't be my go-to spot. On to the next sushi shop. read more

New fav sushi place! Loved the ambience in here, it felt high-end and intimate, without the multiple price tags. Sushi was so aesthetically pleasing, we also ordered the sake in a box which was $9 for 2.5 shots - a steal! I visited with my boyfriend and we ordered a rainbow roll, salmon lovers, and the albacore tuna torched roll. He also ordered a donburi. Bang for its buck. Super cheap and delicious. I don't get out to the east end much but very happy I stumbled upon this place. I ordered 2 rolls and could only finish half. The rolls are huge. I got the Salmon avocado roll, the salmon was very fresh and the avocados were perfectly ripe. I also got The spicy salmon roll and it was delicious, very good taste. My son placed an online order for Toto sushi, which is right around the corner from his apartment They got the big tray of sushi and I got chicken teriyaki with white rice, miso soup, and we shared some Gyoza which those were delicious. My chicken teriyaki was very very good. Once I dump the white rice all over it, it was even better having that all mixed together. I did not like the miso it tasted, I don't really know ,just not good. The edamame was fine, but we got two free containers of with our order. I can't really speak about the sushi because I won't touch the stuff, but going by what my boys said, most of it was good. Some of it was a little bad, and they had to throw it out. I want sun almost threw up when I took a piece of something, but maybe it was because it was late and the fish was sitting around too long. So give this place a try if you're in Toronto, Canada and let us know what you think. Definitely get the Gyoza !!! read more

I have been going here for some time, and no issues. I leave good tapes, spend a lot and recommend people as well. it was recommended by a friend in the area. I ate there recently and spent quite a bit of money. I ate nothing else and about 11 at night I was vomiting and had diarrhea a few times through the night. I waited to eat there that day and was so looking forward to it! I spoke to the manager and he was most ungracious and really wouldn't hear me out. I felt very sad about that. They have always been so nice to me. I will not return here and unfortunately I won't be able to recommend this place either. read more

Hands down my favourite sushi spot in all of Toronto! The staff are incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely go above and beyond every single time. Every dine in experience feels so special, the aesthetic of the place is so beautiful and they always choose a fun cool way to bring your sushi out, as well as plating it beautifully . they always surprise us with a complimentary dessert, and even when I order delivery, they sometimes include little extras just out of generosity. We got the avocado salad, mixed tempura and Tarantula Roll. Salad was ok. The tempura was too oily, thickly coated and NO crunch. Quite soggy. Don't go here if it's tempura you crave! The tarantula roll was nice, though slightly bland, the aioli making it greasy instead of adding a brightness to the dish which was needed. Just went in today to get the Roll Combo A (6 Cali rolls + 6 spicy salmon rolls + soup + salad). Everything was delicious! I really enjoyed the Miso soup, the salad was good, and the rolls were tasty (really good spicy mayo sauce!) A very nice surprise on top this, was they also included something extra that I did not even order! It was some kind of potato hash brown pancake. I walked by toto SUSHI last week and noticed a "pre-open" sign on the street. Right away, I had to give it a shot! They are only offering take-away right now, but since Toronto just entered stage 3 of relaxing covid-19 restrictions, that may change since dine-in is also an option. I ordered the sushi(6pc)+sashimi (9pc) combo for $15.95 and a golden dragon roll for $12.95. Everything was fresh and delicious! The sashimi portions were very reasonable, and the golden dragon roll was bang-on! My combo also came with a bowl of miso soup and a green salad. The broth was perfect and the salad was fresh with crispy lettuce. This restaurant just opened up in one of the most trying times so get out there and support. If you call to ask why something is unpalatable (e.g. avoid the "Bob Marley" sushi roll at all costs) the manager will tell you why you are wrong and how other people like it. Finally had a chance to try this gem in the neighborhood. The experience was fantastic, ordered on line through their web site, they called to confirm within a few mins and cash pick up with 20% discount, absolutely unheard of. Ordered a couple of unique sushi rolls and standard items and loved every single one of them. The tarantula roll was so good, the purple rice was perfectly cooked and had big pieces of soft shell crab. Black dragon, salmon pizza, chicken udon, leslieville roll and toto roll were all very well done. Will be back for sure, my new go to place. The food is not bad but VERY TRICKY the way the 20% discount is given. Yes they give it to you BUT the bill that goes with your take out order is the amount without the 20% taken off, So if you dont check and ask for the bill with the discount amount, you end up paying the regular price plus of course you add a tip o top of that. We tried the small sushi platter and it was more than enough to feed two of us and our baby!
