Today, I decided to try the new salmon and strawberry option, and I also introduced my partner to Cava for the first time. I ordered the salmon bowl, and she ordered a grilled chicken bowl. She picked up the order, and when I opened mine, I immediately noticed that the portion was significantly smaller than what I usually receive. The bowl was not even half full--there was very little rice and only a small amount of spinach (honestly, I could count the leaves). I called the resturant a few times and did not get an answer. The message advised me to send a message to support. Not sure if anyone will ever get back to me. I tried to dial the restuarant again and finally someone picked up. The person on the other end did not sound that interested in hearing about the experience and I was in no way rude about it. He said that they were instructing their staff to adhear to the correct portion size. Does this mean the dish would be cut in half? If so, it is no longer worth the money. And how disappointed I was to rave about a place and finally get my partner to try it on the day they were cutting portions in half. Our waiter was amazing I wish I got his name but, he was very attentive and knew all the specials by heart. Overall this place still looks amazing inside and out with plenty of seating. No amount of chewing seemed to improve the experience. Texture matters just as much as seasoning, and unfortunately, this missed the mark. The falafel ended up being the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful, had a nice texture, and was easily the best thing on the plate. I always like giving new places a chance, but this one just wasn't for me. A simple, polite explanation would have immediately resolved the situation, as my sister would have gladly complied.
