My friends and I dropped by before hiking the circle route near the summit. TLDR: Patio seating 5…read morestars; service 5 stars; food 2 stars. We enjoyed the late summer trees and people watching around the patio. Our server was really funny, speaking French, English, and a splash of Spanish. I originally wanted the beef salad, but he recommended the salmon poke bowl ("deconstructed sushi!") for more vegetables. (He didn't seem to know that poke is Hawaiian and sushi is Japanese, but poke appears often in Asian restaurants in this area.) He was right--the salmon bowl provided lots of crispy raw vegetables, and enough carbs to power me through the hike. The poke was unlike any I've had at an authentic Hawaiian place, though. It was like tuna salad, except instead of canned tuna I got raw or salted salmon (I couldn't tell which). I didn't touch the side sauce, which looked like tartar sauce. The salmon mayonnaise provided plenty of flavor for the vegetables and rice, and I ate the whole thing. My friend's spouse finished his fried rice, another good sign. But my friend didn't like the ramen. She said the broth was flavored with soy sauce and coconut milk--neither Japanese nor Southeast Asian. Her kids didn't finish their pho or pad thai, perhaps because there was too much for them. After tasting both, my friend ended up eating the pad thai. I'm glad we tried this place. It's a novelty amid the predictable overpriced North American and European food one finds in a touristy area. If I find myself in this area again, I'll probably try someplace else first, though.

We found ourselves stuck between a rock (mediocre tremblant restaurant) and a hard place (another…read moremediocre tremblant restaurant) and so we figured we'd give this place a shot. I got a poke bowl and the salmon kind of tasted like the chef's mom told him to defrost the salmon and he said he'd do it but then he lost track of time playing club penguin and so he tried to run it under hot water before she got home and accidentally cooked it halfway (not from personal experience or anything). The ramen was -- to put it mildly -- flavourless! And I have no idea what dish my sister ordered but it tasted like instant noodles smothered in soy sauce. The only points this restaurant gets is for the waitress being lovely and for the wagyu gyoza.

We came here for a late lunch. The seating area is tiny and it just so happened that there were two…read morelarge families dining already. We waited about 10 min for a table for 2. The service was good. They took our order and brought out our food. A bowl of rice is not included with entrees. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, beef chow fun, and pan fried dumplings. Sweet and sour chicken was ok, the sauce was good, I just would've liked a tad less breading on the chicken. The noodles were what I expected with beef, bean sprouts and green onions. Pan fried dumplings were good and a nice side.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Simple eatery in Chinatown. Very…read moreefficient service. Tasty food. Cash only. The Long Version: My husband and I had dinner here and it was great. We got the deep fried pork wontons ($5), crispy shrimps ($17.95) and house noodles with beef ($15.95). The fried wontons were really crispy. The wonton wrappers were all blistery. My only complaint is that the amount of ground pork in each wonton was very little, but I guess considering the price, I guess it's to be expected. Luckily the house noodles with beef had a good amount of beef in it. The beef was lean and tender. The noodles were a good texture and there was also broccoli, Bok Choy, onions, cabbage and carrots in it. This was my favourite of the 3 dishes we had. The shrimps were tasty too, but I felt less bang for our buck since the portion was small. The shrimps were crispy and there was diced onions and bell peppers mixed in. There were chili flakes too, so it was a bit spicy. Service was really efficient. Our food came out in record time. They also gave us 2 refillable bottles of water and as soon as we emptied one, they swapped it out for a full one. As soon as we finished a dish, they removed the empty dish from the table. The restaurant is really small, so the servers had an easy view of all the tables. It was almost comical how efficient they were, lol. This place is popular. They seem to have a lot of regulars. Decor is casual. We had a great meal and would return. Review #72 (2025)

That said, we didn't expect much from this place, but I was pleasantly surprised. Gamja tang which is the potato pork bone stew was on point. I had the soontubu which is the soft tofu stew. Enjoyed it. Kids had the spicy chicken and pork, and all were flavorful. The only dish that didn't meet expectations is the jajangmein. It tasted like a gravy hamburger pasta with no trace of jajang sauce. Btw, felt bad because service was great but I thought tip was included thinking tps meant tip. It doesn't. Sorry guys.

Since I was with friends who have been before I followed their lead in ordering a number of different platters to share which was truly the way to go. Everything was absolutely delicious! The sticky rice, noodles, japche, and three types of chicken were amazing (the spicy chicken being the best). Although the noise level was pretty loud, the food and service made up for it. They kept a close watch and came by regularly to fill our water glasses! The owner was right in there as well walking, serving, making sure everyone was taken care of. To top off the meal we had his Yuzu tea (hope I spelled that right) which just amazing. I'm definitely going back! :)

We weren't very hungry so just ordered a couple of dishes including their pork gyoza, katsu curry, udon and 2 sushi rolls. Their pork gyoza, although seemed like they're store bought frozen ones, was decent and I like it how it's pan fried with a starch slurry to make a crispy bottom instead of it being deep fried. Their katsu curry was a pleasant surprise as it was crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. The curry was as also flavorful without being too spicy. The udon, although was al dente and had a perfect texture, just wasn't my favorite just because I thought there were too many ginger and scallions which is not my preference but it would be a great choice if you like ginger and scallions. The sushi's were decent, nothing out of the ordinary but the rice temperature was just right but it wasn't well made as it was basically falling apart as soon as we picked it up. It's more like a Japanese bar vibe as they do have a bar (for alcohol and sushi) at the front of the restaurant so it was quite dark inside. The service was pretty standard and our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, this is a great option to try various dishes but it can get pricy especially if you're hungry as the portion sizes are on the smaller side. Also note that they only offer ramen for lunch so my kids were a little disappointed that it wasn't available when we went for dinner.

We also love that there is a great view of the stage and shade from the blistering mid-day sun. Each flavor of the edamame appetizer was delish. We were disappointed to hear that they got rid of the bento box since the last time we visited in 2024 so I hope they bring it back for 2026. It was always delicious. The sushi is always great here - fresh and full of flavor.
