Definitely a good place if you like that home cooking flavor. Nice exterior and interior and friendly service. They have a good menu selection and I really need to try the breakfast also. Sort of reminds me of Piccadilly food or maybe Cracker Barrel and honestly this city needed it. Portion size is standard and I think I'll try more items see if they can be as good as the locals say they are. I'll definitely be back.

    Pirogue Platter

This was a cute cozy place for some southern food and it definitely hit the spot! I got the Pirogue Platter and fried pickles and they had so much flavor! The waitresses were very friendly :)

The Boudin Egg rolls were really good and fried to perfection- just like the menu says. It was service with a smile, plenty of sweet tea and doors on the ceiling with a fantastic gear chandler.

Delicious!!! Very friendly staff, good service, and delicious food. They're always open and serving up good dishes. Definitely gotta check them out when you're around the Leesville area. My girls and I loved it.

I've visited here a few times whether to grab brunch w/ friends for a birthday party or js to eat breakfast. I'm new to Louisiana so I love how it introduces me to food here. Food is very delicious. The waitress are very kind and attentive. And the vibes are amazing inside and outside

Stopped by for a quick breakfast with my partner and we were amazed by the speed of service. There were ample tables available, either chairs or booth, with patrons allowed to seat themselves. We were in and out in under thirty minutes on a weekend, and the food was absolutely phenomenal. We both DEVOURED our dishes. The étouffée definitely elevated the dish beyond your typical shrimp & grits.

My son brought us here for brunch saying it was one of their favorite places to go. For a late weekday morning, they were still pretty crowded but we waited less than 10 minutes to be seated. There was a steady flow of customers the whole time we were there. It's modern rustic inside and out, and the ladies who work here are very sweet and helpful. My husband and I took a long time to decide what we wanted because so many things sounded good and our waitress was very understanding. We started off with an appetizer, Boudin Balls. For those who do not know, imagine a dirty rice fritter ball. Served hot, with ranch dressing on the side, they were savory, spicy and oh so good. Definitely recommend. My husband had the Red Beans & Rice. Topped with a savory sausage link and accompanied by cornbread, the whole dish was what you'd expect and want from a Cajun place. He ate every bite. My son had the Eye Popper; biscuit & white gravy, scrambled eggs, and an order of cheese grits on the side. It's one of his favorite things to order there. I had the Shrimp Étoufée with a pistolette (fried bread roll). The shrimp were large and cooked just right, tender and not chewy. The sauce and rice were creamy with warm spices, just right. The pistolette was perfect to help soak up the delicious sauce. At the end, we were very full so did not try any dessert. Our loss. This is a lovely, casual place that has delicious Cajun cuisine and I highly recommend you trying it out.

Was in Leesville for a family event and I stumbled upon this new restaurant. To my surprise this place was good and it's one of two restaurants that I've been to in the area that actually feels like a real restaurant. Interior of the place is cute, the seating options for the elderly though is not thought out. Hard wood benches in the booths that are a little difficult for some folks to get in and out of and the metal chairs at the tables are just not comfortable ones. Staff is super friendly, our waitress Kristen was so sweet. The menu itself offers a lot. Word of mouth, I was told the breakfast was better than lunch/dinner. So of course I came for breakfast. My daughter loved the kids menu and got a kick out of the names. She liked her food which was a pancake and bacon. I ordered the shrimp and grits, with a side biscuit and gravy. I actually really liked my meal, it was very filling and full of flavor. The biscuit and gravy though, I loved the gravy. Presentation was nice, portion size to cost was a tad off in my opinion, but I was okay spending the money because this is one of the better restaurant options in the area. Definitely will be back next time I'm in town.

Very unique take Cajun food north of I-10. Extremely fast service, and a nice cozy environment.

Makes you feel like you're in a Texas country town for sure! My daughter and I were in Nacogdoches for college visit to SFA and we looked this place up in the hopes that we would find something different than a normal chain stop. It certainly is different and was exactly what you might imagine. Everything on the menu is decently priced and it seems that Tuesday is the place to be with short stack specials for $2 along with the weekday breakfast special at $6.95 On of my daughter's favorite meals is chicken fried steak and what better place to try that than a local diner??? Unfortunately it fell below expectations. The portions were quite large, enough that we could have just split a plate. The idea of sausage gravy on top of the mashed potatos and steak sounds heavy but also potentially fantastic. However both the gravy and the fry were quite under seasoned. I was able to fix mine with some cholula sauce and some salt and pepper was a quick fix as well for my daughter. The side of green beans and carrots she got were actually pretty good so perhaps there was just a disconnect in flavor at the meat station this day. I did very much enjoy the side salad I chose instead of the veggie medley. Came with home-made ranch which brought me back to my East Texas family gatherings with the freshly shaken ranch.....it was great. The portion size was pretty fair value at $13. Like I said we could have just split it between us. Very hit or miss flavors leaves this at a 3-stars for me. But no doubt some of the nicest folks in town work here.

I am a guest at the hotel, and unfortunately, the service I experienced in the café and poolside…read morearea on August 21 was extremely disappointing. After helping our daughter move for school, we returned to the hotel exhausted. We had already had an early dinner, so we decided to have a drink and order a light appetizer and dessert poolside. The bar was crowded, and although three different servers came through the pool area, not one stopped at our table to ask whether we needed menus or anything else. We eventually had to flag someone down ourselves. Unfortunately, that interaction seemed to set the tone for the remainder of the evening. The staff we encountered were consistently unwelcoming and inattentive. It gave the impression that they were simply there to complete their shift rather than provide the level of hospitality guests should reasonably expect. The atmosphere was also frustrating. A toddler was repeatedly screaming at the top of her lungs while a musician was performing, and the child's father made no apparent effort to address the situation. While that is not necessarily the hotel's responsibility, the combination of the disruptive environment and poor service made for a particularly unpleasant experience. The situation became even more frustrating when we accidentally left my arm brace on the table as we hurried to finish our nightcap and leave. Within approximately five minutes of realizing it was missing, my husband returned to retrieve it. Since it had been left on the table moments earlier, we expected that the server or another staff member would be able to locate it easily. Instead, he was sent from the bar to the kitchen and then to the front desk. After approximately 15 minutes, he returned without the item. That experience reinforced the impression I had already formed earlier in the day: there appears to be very little communication or coordination among the staff. No one seemed to take ownership of a simple guest-service issue or make an effort to resolve it efficiently. When guests are paying nearly $600 for two nights in a small town such as Nacogdoches, particularly at a property marketed as one of the best accommodations in the area, there is an expectation of professional, attentive hospitality. Guests should feel welcomed, recognized, and valued. Unfortunately, I did not experience that during my stay. The attitude of the waitress who ultimately served us was particularly disappointing and significantly affected the overall experience. Her demeanor was not appropriate for someone working in a customer-service position, much less one at a property presenting itself as a higher-end accommodation. I strongly recommend that management take a closer look at staff training, communication, accountability, and expectations surrounding guest service. Tipping is part of the hospitality industry, and guests should not have to repeatedly seek out employees for basic service. Based on this experience, I will not be staying here again. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to improve the guest experience for future visitors.
