Let me tell you wild bills grill is always at the top of my list for local takeout when the mood strikes, they always serve exceptional food, have ample options to choose from, the staff are always pleasant to us when we are there we are always treated like family. One of the few places out this way that I ever got to meet the owner of the place and let me tell you he is always there helping his staff, and building a great very welcoming environment, also one of the few if not only dog friendly place in the area which is nice to have that luxury when we are out and about with the K9. Enjoyed this small town diner while visiting the area. I had the large chicken fried steak which was ok. It was not cooked long enough and super greasy, the crust on the bottom was soggy and saturated in grease. My partner had Philly cheese steak po boy and onion rings. The onion rings were delicious. I was passing through Woodville TX and was hungry for home cooking. Stopped here and went inside. Quaint with a number of people enjoying lunch. Over five minutes NO ONE offered to seat me at one of the empty tables. Several wait staff looked at me but no one said hello or " seat yourself." Gave up and left. Terrible service. read more

Had lunch there today. Rode motorcycles with buddies from Houston. My BLT wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was very good. My friends bragged on their burgers. The place was very busy, but Wild Bill's still came by the table to check on us. Food took a bit, but the server was friendly and efficient. I'd certainly stop back if I'm thru town. read more

Welcome to Tammy's Country Kitchen: It's got that small town feel, for sure. You could tell we were out-of-towners, as we walked in (with masks on) and it seemed everyone here knew each other (and stared at us standing at the door). No worries, we'll make ourselves at home and take a seat. Might be the biggest glass of ice water I've ever had (and that's a GOOD thing!) Hubby ordered the steak and eggs, I went for an omelet all the way (and the small pancake... but if the glass of water tells me anything, my version of small and their version of small may be two different things!) A longer wait than usual (they _are_ pretty busy) but the wait is well worth it and our server kept checking in to make sure we were ok. Hubby's steak portion is literally half the cow! And that 'small' pancake? Nearly 3/4ths of the ten inch dinner plate! If you leave this place hungry, it's your own damn fault. The pancake is worth mentioning again: it's probably one of the fluffiest, moist and most perfect pancakes I've ever had. Served with REAL butter (thank you!) and a giant container of syrup (which was sticky as hell on the outside, ew, but was worth it for the delicious contents inside). Excellent breakfast, very attentive service, and you can see why the locals don't want outsiders sneaking in- they're trying to keep this country home cooking secret all to themselves! read more

I expected more. Sigh. Woodville is getting thin on rateable restaurants after Magnolia bit the dust, and Bulldog is running on fumes. Wild Bill offered up absolutely unremarkable flavorless unsalted, un peppered, and absolutely no flavor chicken fried steaks tonight. AND dry, gravy on the side. Battering was overcooked and was harder than a cheap dinner plate. It looked like a monster brown hockey puck. Potatoes were grey, and must have been natural, cuz mix is better than that. Okra was overcooked. Sweet tea was okay but not that good. Pray for good restaurants for Woodville. The Mexican ones are decent. read more

Stopped at this place while traveling for work and I'm so glad we did!! I had the two eggs with bacon and added sausage (for an extra fee) and hash browns! What's not pictured is my yummy pancake. Omg y'all!!! And their sweet tea is the best sweet tea I've had in a long time! Staff is super friendly. A lot of local customers were there too. Everybody knew everybody. Traveling thru Woodville & this place looked interesting. Staff helpful except for overcharging $10+ which I didn't click to until I was too far away to go back. I ordered the "liver" & onions. What I was served was a square, black, unrecognizable pc of something. It was dry, inedible and had a gamey taste & smell to it. Could not even identify it as meat. The onions on top were diced & raw. The mashed potatoes & gravy were palatable. This place is homey if your mom serves boot leather for meat. Terrible, terrible experience. While everything we ordered was delicious, the chicken fried steak fingers and hand battered onion rings were simply amazing. The steak fingers were the best we've ever had and mercy....those onion rings! Be sure to get a side of their homemade ranch dressing for dipping. The only two things we didn't like; You will be solicited on your way in by someone selling stuff on the porch. We were seated back by the bathroom which had a very strong sewer odor. read more

I really don't like leaving poor reviews, but I have a duty to my fellow yelpers. Let me start out by saying I wanted breakfast, but the menu said they didn't serve breakfast after 11, and it was 11:05. So, I did what any well-mannered person would do, and I ordered lunch. A fried pork chop, mashed potatoes, and a trip to the salad bar. Let's begin at the salad bar: it's mediocre. The eggs for the salads had no yolks. That's right. Just the whites all chopped up and grayish looking. Which was odd to me, but whatever. Standard salad bar fixing complete with the artificial bacon bits. But it was fresh and the dressing was good. The kids had fried fish that they loved. People came in after us and ordered breakfast. They got it. I was super jealous. That fact was my own fault and doesn't taint my review. Let's get to the pork chop. It was beautifully fried and smelled great. But. It was tough. Tougher than a boot tough. I couldn't get the server to bring me a better knife, so I picked it up and bit it, like the animal I am. Oh my gosh, I almost pulled my teeth out. I couldn't eat it. My Potatoes were also cold. I would go back and try the breakfast, but otherwise if find somewhere else. read more

Tammy's is a great place to eat, whether you're just passing through or eat supper there every other night. Good quality food for a decent price. I highly recommend the catfish plate, roughneck breakfast, the club sandwich, or anything on their breakfast menu. The owner is always polite and strives to improve anyway she can.
