What a gorgeous bakery! I really did not expect this from a shopping mall. Tous Les Jours has a wide variety of French and Korean pastries with interesting fillings, and lots of snacks. It's also a coffee shop, so you can get your caffeine or tea fix while you're there. I got the wheat bread and it was super fluffy, delicious, and lasted a while. It is a little pricey, but it's on par for bakeries like Sweetish Hill and Easy Tiger. Probably still cheaper than Easy Tiger, and more types of pastries. Holy Cow. This is a MUST visit when you're in north Austin. I had a curry bun: potato, carrot, and celery with spices (and a little pork) all mixed together. This is reminiscent of a samosa, but with a different outer layer of bread. All the veggies were obviously fresh and well prepared. Of course there are the main attractions: donuts, buns, sweet breads and cookies. You can indulge all of your desires: walnut filling, blueberry cream cheese, red bead, sweet potato, coconut cream.... the list is extensive and amazing. I'd particularly recommend the chewy and toasty sesame donuts! Rich flavors accompany toasty black sesame and are generously complimented by airy bread without being overcome by sugary goodness. I'm honestly surprised that there are several reviews about this bakery being "overpriced". I added an extra star myself just because I was so pleased with the fair pricing on the items. I took my best friend here as a graduation treat on a recommendation from a friend. Its right up her alley and down the street from where we live, kind of casually tucked into a corner. We were instantly impressed upon walking in. A miniature bakery market, everything displayed simply and perfectly; we walked in circles taking everything in and deciding based on looks alone what to get. We came in for bubble tea ( a new item on their menu) but left with bags full of goodies. I have to say, out of everything we tried, the bubble tea was our least favorite. I don't blame them though, it wasn't the consistency or the pearls that was off, I just don't prefer the fruity flavors. If they had a chocolate of vanilla flavor, I think I would be all over that. I personally really liked the chocolate macaroon I got, my friend wasn't impressed enough with the sight of them to give it a try. We got a "milk" bread pastry and a "honey" bread pastry. The honey was much sweeter and to our liking, but the milk bread is exactly what you expect out of it. I think it would pair nicely with a nice cup of coffee. I adored the cream cheese pound I took home and we snagged some baggies of a few gluten free and vegan snack options for our friends. Wow. This was a random find for us. To set the scene, picture the entire family, out shopping for summer gear (bathing suits, shorts, sandals), on our way to daughter's improv camp showcase (at ColdTowne Theater). We are early and want to stop somewhere for a snack and a drink. I pull up Yelp on my phone and tell hubs to take a quick left into the parking lot that is completely Asian markets and services of some kind, but there is this place, Tous Les Jours, very French bakery name. We walk in and our jaws drop to the floor. I feel like I've walked into a French/Korean bakery in Europe (sorry, I've never been to Korea, so this might be more like Korean bakery, but to me, it was just as nice as any in Europe). They even had bowls of cut up peices of all of the pastries to try, so we could see how good they are before we purchased. That really cinched the deal for both teens. Son tried the mung bean donut and immediately wanted a whole one. Daughter stuck with a chocolate croissant. Hubs went for a light cream filled pastry that was light and not too sweet. From stuffed breads, to the simplest of baked goods, this little Korean bakery shop has got all the goods (and by goods, I mean bakery goods... not those other "goods"). Anyways, I had a couple of there items such as the Hazelnut Bread, and their Snow Pea Bread. The Hazelnut Bread had a great consistency and the right amount of cream inside (keep refrigerated!) The Snow Pea Bread reminded me of a red bean pastry back from home (with the warm bread and sliced almonds on top!) Overall, great atmosphere, feels like your in the bakery smelling all the baked goods, and great service provided as well! Also, there is samples! Try them before you buy them! read more

Auntie at Austin again :) Thank you to the cool charming lady manager ^_^ During this trip, we were celebrating baby NephewT's 100-day celebration (baek-il). So a cake was in order, of course. We were informed that we can pick any cake image online so they can recreate it. Even a cake photo would've been fine. That was cool. But we saw a cute train-themed chocolate cake in their cake display we all liked. So kawaii. Just the custom writing on the cake was all that's needed. We paid at the time we ordered the cake and it was ready in one week. When we came to pick it up, it was shown to us then packaged in a cute box. Plus candles and a plastic knife were conveniently taped on top. That was easy. Everything on top of the cake was edible except for the trains and plastic stands. The chocolate cake was not too sweet which we appreciated. Surprisingly moist. It was a triple layered cake with a thin amount of icing on each layer. Our type of cake we enjoy for sure. It's 8:30pm on a Saturday night and my husband say's to me, "I'm hungry"; I reply, "okay, get something to eat." Low and behold, Tous les Jours is in the neighborhood. Before, I can even say the name, my husband has the car keys and is telling our dogs, "we'll be back soon." Guess that was my clue for hurry up or I'm leaving without you. It's now 8:45pm and the staff greets us with a smile, mind you the shop closes in 15 minutes and it is Saturday night. We promise the lady at the counter that we will be quick, and she replies, take your time. I love her! Unfortunately, for her, we can't decide on which dessert to try, she runs through a description of all the cakes we are drooling over and offers some suggestions. Did I mention I love her? We couldn't decide so we bought two desserts! The milk chocolate cake (hubby dislikes dark chocolate) was a revved up layered birthday cake that was moist and had a delicate tasty layer of chocolate (not frosting) and instead of frosting they used powder chocolate. The second dessert was the cloud cake, whipped cream between layers of chocolate cake and shaved chocolate on the top, what's not to love? Will we be back, of course; will we order the same dessert, eventually, right now there are too many to choose from and I must try them all. I like the bistro fare, a nice variety of desserts and drinks. The reason they don't earn five stars is because the cake slices are small, and they are small for the prices. Even in Korea, I preferred going to Paris Baguette over Tous Les Jours. The breads here are so-so, and at times, it can be kind of dry. It's quite average, though if youre craving krn baked goods, it's definitely better than nothing. The bingsu looks nice in photos, but the ice isn't the soft, fluffy, melt-in-mouth texture that *good* bingsu shops in serve back in Korea. The green tea cloud cake is BOMB though, y'all. Seriously. If you even remotely enjoy green tea desserts, try this cake the next time there's an occasion for cake....or just because you want to 'treat yo self'. I tried it for the first time last September when my friends bought it for my birthday. The frosting is light and airy, the cake itself is not too sweet, and it's topped with fresh fruits. TLDR; Yummy (but a bit pricier than other Asian bakeries) food, not a good place to work I love that they have samples of a lot of the breads and pastries! I tried the kimchi croquette and the curry croquette. I thought the kimchi croquette was unique and the curry croquette was standard. The ratio of filling to bun could have been better though, haha. $2.50 per croquette. I also got the milk cream red bean bun, which was $3. I like their custard/milk cream buns, but they are on the pricier side compared to some other Asian bakeries. Once my friend and I tried the oreo bingsu (shaved ice), and it was delicious but the only size is GIGANTIC! I think it could serve 4-8 people. We had some and asked for a container to take the rest home. Of course the texture is going to change when you refreeze it and thaw it again, but it still tasted okay! The wifi is pretty good, but there is only one accessible outlet at the table closest to the counter, and the owner? of the cafe was sitting at that table. I asked her if there were any other outlets, and she pointed me to an outlet that was impossible to reach or see because it was behind the immovable benches, lol. She also spent a long time talking loudly on the phone, or talking loudly to the other employee. I wouldn't recommend coming around 4-7 to work, it gets quite busy and loud. I love this place. The bread is so good and the variety is aplenty. There are definitely times when there is not much out on the floor though, which is disappointing. I normally get the red bean bread or donut here. They have a tiny space on the side for relaxing and working or there are bigger tables in the main area next to the bread station.
