Had dinner with family in the city, then did some walking around. When we were ready for dessert, we remembered this place from a prior trip to the City. It was easy to get to walking down from the Bryant Park area. When we got there it was busy, but not too busy. My wife and I split a slice of chocolate mousse cake. The price is just right for the perfect size slice for sharing. On our prior trip it was a lot busier and it took a while to get a seat so we could eat. This time it wasn't as crowded and we were able to sit right away after getting our slice. On future trips to New York we'll definitely have to come back and try some of the other items available. read more

If you're going to a Tous Les Jours smack in the middle of ktown, you should know what you're getting yourself into. High traffic, the line is usually long but does move pretty quickly. There's seating toward the back that is fine, but it can be a struggle to find an open table given the packed crowds. We tried the red velvet cake, and it was okay. The cream didn't taste particularly special, and the cake itself was pretty sweet, but didn't have that classic red velvet texture or taste. It wasn't something that stood out, unfortunately. The iced matcha was also fine, again nothing too exciting. All in all, this place is serving a touristy neighborhood, so don't expect a particularly special dining experience. read more

This was hands down my favorite--like biting into a cloud with just the right touch of ube flavor. Ube Cake - 7/10 Light and mildly sweet with a creamy texture. A good option if you prefer something more subtle, though not as rich in flavor as the donut. Ube Latte - 10/10 Warm, creamy, and comforting--like sipping sweet ube milk in a cup. A cozy treat I'd definitely order again. Milk Bread with Custard - 10/10 Soft, pillowy bread with a lightly sweet custard center. Simple, but perfectly done. Garlic Bread with Cream Cheese - 9/10 My second favorite! Toasted just right with a bold garlic flavor. The cream cheese surprised me--in a good way. Would absolutely go back for this. Yuzu Pie - 6/10 My first time trying yuzu. It was citrusy and the crust was nice and flaky, but the flavor just wasn't my favorite. Tous les jours is one of my favorite bakeries. Their pastries are not too sweet and dont feel heavy. Their standout items for me would be the curry croquette, kimchi croquette, mango cool bun, and spinach feta danish. Their cakes are also delicious and super light! The strawberry lychee cake was a bit too sweet for me though. I've also tried their garlic cream cheese bread and that was so hard to rip off, I don't know if it's because it was cold when I got it but the bread was just tough. A nice cafe / dessert place to just sit and chat. It's a very casual atmosphere, with the plenty tables at the back of the cafe. The location is right in Ktown so it can be pretty crowded. We ordered three drinks: seasonal strawberry matcha latte , yuzu lemon, and lychee green. The drinks were actually quite good! Didn't have much expectations but they turned out quite nice. They weren't too sweet (asked for less sugar and the staff were accommodating). Place is pretty self service, you grab and order your own drinks / desserts. A good friend converted me to this place recently and despite the fact that their Coffee Bun (and far more expensive) isn't as good as Paris Baguette, I've come to appreciate their Pistachio Latte. They also have such a massive store with more tables and other pastries to choose from, plus two working restrooms that seems to be kept clean at all times! I wanted to pick up a cake for a friendly get together and this place was highly recommended. I was familiar with their other locations and was very pleased. They have a ton of baked sweets which will leave you in a great mood. I have not tried them all but I eventually will. I usually come here for coffee and their milk bread which is delicious. They have several Korean donuts which you can try out. I love trying new flavors such as red bean and sweet rice. I picked up a Blueberry Cloud Cake. It came in a great presentation. All the cakes here are pricey but worth the cost. The cake was able to serve a whole party. It was very light and filled with flavor. I was unsure of at first how a blueberry cake would come out but Tres De Jour did not disappoint. Once again, a great location for all the bakery needs. I have been to this location multiple times before and always had a good experience. However yesterday, after picking my pastries and standing out of anybody's way to look at the screen to pick a drink, the lady manning the register was rushing me to come to the counter and pay, so I went to her and asked a quick question about a drink, as nobody was behind me at that moment. She answered very rudely, then told me to put down the pastries and I immediately lost the appetite to order at all! I paid for what I picked and then left. This was my first time visiting any Tous Les Jours location and I am so glad I did! Being in Manhattan, it was of course very crowded even at 10 in the morning, so please keep that in mind. But even so, everything seemed to be stocked super well. The place was somewhat small but there was a nice seating area where my friend and I ate. It was comfortable and the food was absolutely delicious! It was a little pricy, but honestly that is to be expected anywhere in NYC. It was honestly worth it because as soon as I took that first bite of the curry croquette I got, I was instantly in love. The flavors were on point and the texture was great. I wish it was a little hotter (wasn't cold or anything, still warm, just not straight out of the kitchen hot), but that's the only thing. The milk bread was soft and the cream inside was amazing. It was probably my favorite! I got the milk tea sweetened and I'm glad I did. It wasn't TOO sweet which is just how I like it. My friend enjoyed her food as well. Next time I'd love to try one of their cake slices-- the mango cloud cake specifically looked amazing. Would 100% visit again since there were so many other pastries I'd love to try. read more

I came back to Tous Les Jours for their donuts. They had an ube donut and black sugar donut which I didn't see last time. The ube donut had so much filling and it tasted really good. It wasn't overly sweet, just perfect. I highly recommend getting this! This Korean-French bakery has a great variety of pastries, cakes, and drinks. Plus, they have a pretty large seating area in the back. I came to pick up a Cloud Cake ($38), which was nicely wrapped. They even included some nice quality candles for free too! Asian desserts are never too sweet, and they make such great cakes --perfect for birthdays. I was only a bit turned off when the cashier told me to look at the display myself when I asked what flavors were offered. But the display did not show what flavors the cake were, so that was unhelpful. She eventually looked herself, but how did she (as an employee) not know that the cakes don't have flavors labeled? Came here after work to get some cake slices. Decided that we wanted to do an at home cake tasting so we can figure out what flavor cloud cake to order birthday cakes. I even told the staff at the register when I placed my order and paid. He had recommended the sweet potato cake as I close all the cakes on the top shelf (which all happened to be cloud cakes). If they had other types of cakes, I would gladly picked those as well (I didn't pick tiramisu as I already know). Saw the special Halloween cakes and specials and wish they could offer them after Halloween. That Cookies n Cream Cheesecake sound amazing! Should offer it as a birthday cake option as well. Ordered 6 cakes: 1. regular Vanilla Cloud (already tasted before but wanted something to compare the others at the same time as classic Vanilla Cloud cake is great) 2. Mango Cloud 3. Mocha Cloud 4. Red Velvet 5. Chocolate Cloud 6. Taro Cloud My family and I sampled the cakes and ranked them in this order for best tasting: 1. Vanilla Cloud 2. Red Velvet & Chocolate Cloud are horribly sweet and werid so we place them on same level. This chocolate cloud cake had some sort of raspberry jam in the middle which was tart and odd. The red velvet was too sweet but a tiny better than the raspberry jam filling. We had ordered other chocolate cloud cakes in the past that never had this filling before which had tasted better. Perhaps the sliced chocolate cloud cake is just different from their chocolate cloud whole cakes. I decided on Taro Cloud Cake to order for my mom's birthday and we decided on Mango Cloud Cake for my mother-in-law's cake. I called to make the order and they told that the Taro Cloud Cake is not available as a whole cake and only as sliced cake Wish/suggestion: add Taro Cloud cake to the Whole Cake selection. It is amazing! Also, they should consider adding the cookies n Cream Cheesecake. I think if they add flavored and regular cheesecakes it would be a hit. read more

If I'm in k-town, this is the prime bakery spot I usually go to for pastries, cakes, and coffee/tea. The service is quick and you can always count on the food and drinks to be good. Highly recommend trying their seasonal drinks and their croquettes (my favorite one is the kimchi croquette but the curry one is pretty good too). If you have a sweet tooth, try their cake slices (all is good - especially their cloud cakes and chocolate mousse cakes). I also love that they have a spacious seating area past the baked goods - you're not sitting on top of anyone and there's usually not so much of a problem finding seats because people come and go pretty quickly. I saw the walnut cream loaf bread though so I ended up getting that. The walnut break with the walnut cream tastes somewhat like walnut but mostly tasted like sweet cream. The bread isn't that soft and a bit hard. This bakery sells a lot of nice pastries laden with cream and a lot of desserts that are very pretty and cute. They carry blueberry, mango, and matcha flavors in their cakes. Now they are carrying a tiramisu latte and carry an extensive list of other flavorful lattes that are seasonal along with teas. Nice bakery in Koreatown. Seating is in the rear to enjoy your dessert. I typically take desserts to go. They pack them up nicely in little to go cartons with plastic around the individual slices to protect them. Nice touch! My favorite so far is the mocha cloud! The cream is pretty good although I do prefer a bit less sweet & darker chocolate flavor.
