Had dinner with family in the city, then did some walking around. When we were ready for dessert, we remembered this place from a prior trip to the City. It was easy to get to walking down from the Bryant Park area. When we got there it was busy, but not too busy. My wife and I split a slice of chocolate mousse cake. The price is just right for the perfect size slice for sharing. On our prior trip it was a lot busier and it took a while to get a seat so we could eat. This time it wasn't as crowded and we were able to sit right away after getting our slice. On future trips to New York we'll definitely have to come back and try some of the other items available. read more

There's seating toward the back that is fine, but it can be a struggle to find an open table given the packed crowds. We tried the red velvet cake, and it was okay. The cream didn't taste particularly special, and the cake itself was pretty sweet, but didn't have that classic red velvet texture or taste. It wasn't something that stood out, unfortunately. Their standout items for me would be the curry croquette, kimchi croquette, mango cool bun, and spinach feta danish. Their cakes are also delicious and super light! A good friend converted me to this place recently and despite the fact that their Coffee Bun (and far more expensive) isn't as good as Paris Baguette, I've come to appreciate their Pistachio Latte. I wanted to pick up a cake for a friendly get together and this place was highly recommended. I was familiar with their other locations and was very pleased. They have a ton of baked sweets which will leave you in a great mood. I have not tried them all but I eventually will. I usually come here for coffee and their milk bread which is delicious. They have several Korean donuts which you can try out. I love trying new flavors such as red bean and sweet rice. I picked up a Blueberry Cloud Cake. It came in a great presentation. All the cakes here are pricey but worth the cost. The cake was able to serve a whole party. It was very light and filled with flavor. I was unsure of at first how a blueberry cake would come out but Tres De Jour did not disappoint. Once again, a great location for all the bakery needs. I ordered a cake 6 days in advance and they told me literally 2 minutes into the pickup time frame through text they could not fulfill my order and canceled it. The cake was for a birthday party and I was scrambling to replace the cake. I also had called earlier to confirm if I could pick up the cake a little later outside the stated pick up window and was told it was fine. I went to the store to ask why the cancellation was made and they said they didn't offer that cake as an option despite it being listed an option for this location on their website. I ended up getting another cake at the location since the change was so last minute. The new cake was fine but I'm surprised there was no offer to discount it for my troubles. This was my first time visiting any Tous Les Jours location and I am so glad I did! Being in Manhattan, it was of course very crowded even at 10 in the morning, so please keep that in mind. But even so, everything seemed to be stocked super well. The place was somewhat small but there was a nice seating area where my friend and I ate. It was comfortable and the food was absolutely delicious! It was a little pricy, but honestly that is to be expected anywhere in NYC. It was honestly worth it because as soon as I took that first bite of the curry croquette I got, I was instantly in love. The flavors were on point and the texture was great. I wish it was a little hotter (wasn't cold or anything, still warm, just not straight out of the kitchen hot), but that's the only thing. The milk bread was soft and the cream inside was amazing. It was probably my favorite! I got the milk tea sweetened and I'm glad I did. It wasn't TOO sweet which is just how I like it. My friend enjoyed her food as well. Next time I'd love to try one of their cake slices-- the mango cloud cake specifically looked amazing. Would 100% visit again since there were so many other pastries I'd love to try. read more

The red velvet was too sweet but a tiny better than the raspberry jam filling. We had ordered other chocolate cloud cakes in the past that never had this filling before which had tasted better. Perhaps the sliced chocolate cloud cake is just different from their chocolate cloud whole cakes. I decided on Taro Cloud Cake to order for my mom's birthday and we decided on Mango Cloud Cake for my mother-in-law's cake. I called to make the order and they told that the Taro Cloud Cake is not available as a whole cake and only as sliced cake Wish/suggestion: add Taro Cloud cake to the Whole Cake selection. However yesterday, after picking my pastries and standing out of anybody's way to look at the screen to pick a drink, the lady manning the register was rushing me to come to the counter and pay, so I went to her and asked a quick question about a drink, as nobody was behind me at that moment. She answered very rudely, then told me to put down the pastries and I immediately lost the appetite to order at all! I paid for what I picked and then left. If I'm in k-town, this is the prime bakery spot I usually go to for pastries, cakes, and coffee/tea. The service is quick and you can always count on the food and drinks to be good. Highly recommend trying their seasonal drinks and their croquettes (my favorite one is the kimchi croquette but the curry one is pretty good too). If you have a sweet tooth, try their cake slices (all is good - especially their cloud cakes and chocolate mousse cakes). I also love that they have a spacious seating area past the baked goods - you're not sitting on top of anyone and there's usually not so much of a problem finding seats because people come and go pretty quickly. On Christmas day, my mom went to the store located in Flushing on Prince Street. She wanted to buy a chocolate cake for her grandchildren who love and only eat chocolate cake. She asked the staff to recommended the chocolate cake. The staff introduced the snowman cake. Since the cake outside icing was white, my mom asked the staff again whether it's chocolate or not. The staff said it's chocolate inside if you cut it open. Then my mom bought the cake and even showed off in front of her grandchildren. When the kids so excited to cut open the cake after the Christmas dinner, all inside was two tiers white cake with one tiny thin layer of light grey color chocolate. The kids were disappointed and refused to eat and even cried a bit. Of course my mom as grandma was also so upset. What she thought would be the highlight of the dinner now ruining the whole holiday atmosphere. The second day, my mom went to the store again asked the manager why their staff recommended a cake with almost no chocolate when the customer specifically asked for a chocolate cake. The manager said it's customer responsibility to read the description of the receipt. But my mom doesn't speak and read English that's why she asked the staff to provide accurate recommendation. The manager said he had nothing to offer but saying "sorry". It was such unprofessional way to comfort a disappointed customer provided with wrongful information, just easily shifting the responsibility from your own trained staffs to an elderly customer. The store better retrains all your staffs. If not sure, better read your own menu before you assure the customer. Most of the customers will depend on your words in any bakery, especially cake which covered by all icing that we won't be able to visualize what's containing inside. Also, when we tried the cake, the thin layer of the grayish color of the buttercream, it tasted more like red bean not chocolate. Also due to your own staff inaccurate recommendation, the customer bought a wrong cake, you should replace the cake or offer refund. But the manager just said sorry and blamed the customer didn't read the menu before buying the cake. What a disgraceful way of handling a loyal customer been with your for years. Most of the time, the customer just look for a sincere solution to resolve the matter and comfort their disappointment. But now you lose a loyal customer family for sure. ​ read more

This location is very popular and in K town. I knew it was popular when I walked in and didn't see any bags of matcha bread loaf slices I was craving for. I saw the walnut cream loaf bread though so I ended up getting that. The walnut break with the walnut cream tastes somewhat like walnut but mostly tasted like sweet cream. The bread isn't that soft and a bit hard. This bakery sells a lot of nice pastries laden with cream and a lot of desserts that are very pretty and cute. They carry blueberry, mango, and matcha flavors in their cakes. Now they are carrying a tiramisu latte and carry an extensive list of other flavorful lattes that are seasonal along with teas.
