Stopped in at Lady M on a Saturday afternoon after walking around Bryant Park and honestly its been on my list forever. Finally got to try the famous mille crepes cake and I get the hype now, like 20 layers of paper thin crepes with this super light cream in between, not too sweet which I really appreciated. We also got a slice of the green tea one and that was even better imo, the matcha flavor is real, not that fake powdery stuff some places use. Service was solid, our server was nice and checked in just enough without being annoying. She actually recommended the green tea over the chocolate which I appreciated bc usually staff just push whatever. Only thing is the wait to be seated was longer than I expected for like 3pm on a weekend, maybe 15 min, and they didnt really update us. The space itself is pretty, very minimal and clean, kinda has that fancy boutique vibe like your eating cake inside a jewelry store lol. Its small though so it gets cramped fast and the table next to us was basically touching ours. Not great if your trying to have a private convo. Price is steep for what you get, like $12+ for a slice of cake feels crazy but I knew that going in. Its more of a treat yourself situation, not a regular spot. My friend wanted hot chocolate. Apparently this was a chocolate shop years ago that served the best hot chocolate. Lady M's hot chocolate was very good, but the highlight was their signature crepe dessert. Our friendly server got everything right. We sat and had a quick dessert and hot chocolate on the way to NYPL. The seating are is small, but it was fine. The signature crepe dessert is layer upon layer of crepe and whipped cream. This is the location where I first tried Lady M crepe cakes, and I haven't stopped eating them since. These cakes are made from 20 layers of crepes with flavored fillings and cremes in between. The texture is soft and lovely, and the flavors are bold yet balanced. I've tried almost every flavor they've offered in the last 10ish years- I always have cravings for them! My favorite signature is matcha, and I've loved so many of the seasonal ones - passion fruit, popcorn (so unique!), earl grey, to name a few. TBH I haven't tried many of the other items since I always want the mille crepe, but they look fantastic too. This location sometimes has a line for seatings but the takeout line can be much shorter and moves quickly, so don't be deterred. read more

I was very upset by the experience I had at your location today and feel the owner should be made aware of it. While ordering birthday cakes for my employees, I ordered four cakes. I requested two cakes of the same flavor, and she only did one, I reminded her I need 2 of the same flavor your employees began bring then out slicing other one. Since she was already slicing, I asked that one additional cake be prepared the same flavor. At that point, the employee made fun of me and said, "Oh, do you want five?" in a mocking tone. When I asked what she meant, she replied that it was "just a joke." This was neither funny nor appropriate. As a paying customer, I should not be mocked or made to feel uncomfortable for placing a normal order. What may have seemed like a "joke" to her came across as disrespectful and unprofessional. The signature slice was $11.50 whereas the Dubai chocolate was $15. It's quite pricey for a slice of cake, but I'm sure the layering of crêpes takes time and effort. The service could have been better though. The staff are a bit rude (rudely told us to wait outside because the door had to be shut the entire time, which the staff could've asked in a polite way-- they also could've had signs instead to inform people). I've always loved Lady M and this was my first time at this location. We waited ~30 minutes to get a seat inside. It's a small and cute establishment - nice for a friends catchup or a casual date. We ordered two iced green tea lattes, a slice of the passion fruit mille crepe, and a slice of the lemon yuzu tart. The green tea lattes were very bitter - I would highly recommend asking to get it sweetened if you are not a fan of a strong matcha taste. The passion fruit mille crepe had such a refreshing flavor and the lemon yuzu tart had an awesome balance of sweet and savory.
