We had our annual family photo session upstairs at HTX Studios, so we decided to grab lunch after. I chose the Power Bowl with tofu, and other than the tofu being a little too salty, the rest of the ingredients (black beans, arugula, avocado, and sweet potato chips (?)) complimented each other REALLY well. I also tried hubby's smoked salmon sandwich, and it was delicious. I didn't get to try the avocado toast, but my daughter looked like she enjoyed it! We also got bacon Mac n cheese for my son, which he devoured, but he'll eat anything with bacon. Lastly, the OJ was good, the passion fruit lemonade was a bit tart and not passion fruity enough, but the anti-inflammatory concoction was really good and had a nice kick to it. Vibes and food, amazing! Two fundamental things Tout Suite does very well is providing a place to grab coffee, a sweet treat, or something savory and enjoy their well crafted playlist while you eat and work. My go-to favorite is the salmon sandwich with Dijon aoli, red onions, plus a few other veggies on a pretzel bun. No matter how many times I order it, it's amazing. This trip, my mom got the club sandwich, which she talked about for 2 days, lol! Honestly, sometimes the service can be hit or miss, but in your most recent visit, Derrick was really great and attentive. I've been to Tout Suite a few times in the past but never had the chance to review them. I'd usually order the juices and cakes which are typically good. Their cafe sua da is quite decent. As it was Macaron Monday, they had their weekly promo of buy 3 get 1 free. I've never tried their macarons before, and from reading so many good reviews about them, I decided to order a few. I wasn't disappointed haha. The chocolate one was amazing and so was the honey lavender. The texture and flavor were both spot on. I haven't stopped thinking about them since haha. The cookies n cream and rose flavors were ok. Flavors are on point but these two were too sweet for my liking. The tiramisu crepe is a must have. Everything about this cake was delicious. From the layers, texture, to the flavor of it. No complaints. The interior is quite trendy with great rustic vibes. Tout Suite also has WiFi which makes it a great hangout and study place. I don't even know where to start, honestly. My brother recommended this place - last he was here was about a year ago and Im assuming alot has changed since. I came with my daughter so first off, it is not a child-friendly place. They only have 1 highchair for use and the bus boy was not going to clean it after it became available. This brings me to the cleanliness of the place: tables are partly clean, chairs have food and sticky residue on them, the staircases have what I can only describe as webs of hair and dust. I was highly disappointed with the restrooms. They are shared men and women and I think if this is the route restaurants are taking, it should be made apparent. When I asked for the restrooms the guy told me very rudely that they were behind some sliding door. Considering it was my first time there, how could I not know where the restrooms are? Silly me! Finally the food... I was hoping the quality of the food would make up for the terrible experience up to now. I could only get a picture of this considering I had to make sure my daughter wouldnt fall out of a chair (since there was only 1 dirty highchair). We got this half avocado with a scrambled egg and oatmeal. Please, why would you serve an avocado like this when its pretty much the main part of the meal?!? The oatmeal was okay. The orange juice was absolutely horrible. I could barely take a full sip - I dont know if it was spoiled or it was supposed to taste like that. My daughter found this place online. The re-purposed Ford dealership is beautifully designed with a gorgeous elevated seating area. The glass walls that once served as a showcase for the latest Ford Truck on the market now serves as a window to Houston's flavor of generosity as many different people and organizations pull up across the street to serve the un-housed population. The Açaí bowls are delicious and fresh. I have mine with extra granola. My daughter and I shared the chicken and waffles and enjoyed a caramel macchiato and a cappuccino with our macaroon. For months I have given this place a chance and for months I have been let down. The baristas and service are terrible, and you'll have to wait at minimum ten to fifteen minutes if you're lucky. Just now we waited 35 minutes with only one other coffee order before us. Came here after an awesome night at the WWE Royal Rumble, I would first like to say it was a great and also sad day for me because great meaning I got to experience the Royal Rumble sad meaning my favorite NBA player of all time Kobe Bryant passed away (rest in paradise). During my wait I had to ask two cashiers to check on my order, and at this moment my ride had already arrived to pick me up so I just asked the cashier to wrap it up in a bag (definitely not driving with 40,000 people leaving the Royal Rumble Event in downtown). I need to preference this review with the fact that I came here for dinner because someone in our group loved their chicken sandwich. As a coffee shop, this place gets 5 stars! They also seem to have great coffee/warm drink options along with nice desserts. As I mentioned, I came here for dinner. This is not a dinner spot so this was our fault and I do not recommend it for dinner simply because they don't have many options and some of the menu items weren't very flavorful. My date had the chicken sandwich with fries and he really was not a fan of the fries or the unique ketchup (maybe made in-house). I think it's because the shop is health conscious so they probably didn't use any salt in either. Others at the table mentioned not liking their fries + ketchup. He also said his chicken wasn't very flavorful. I had the fresh farm plate with salmon and I will say that the salmon was very very good. Me and the other person who ordered salmon were the only ones at the table who had at least one thing they really enjoyed, others felt pretty so-so about their food. Was excited to try this place in person because I had heard lots of great things and had only ever tried the sweets that people have brought me (which are possibly the best things here). Downside is that there are many homeless and have heard of break ins so make sure not to leave anything valuable in the car. The last 2 times I've gone, there has always been a line to the door so there's been a wait, which I understand. Cafes in this area definitely get like this especially after a school/work hours. The menu is probably one of their best things going for them- they have a variety of menu options from breakfast, soups, salads, sandwiches, bigger plates, etc. As well as coffee, tea, alcohol, and of co it se pastries. The food and coffee were just okay to me. Nothing too bad but nothing that really wowed me. Their macarons are definitely the highlight of the place. Many options to choose from and they're super delicious and just the perfect texture compared to other places that sell macarons. The vibe of the place was pretty okay. Since it's almost always full, it can get pretty rowdy which doesn't bother me but not sure I can focus well to study here. Definitely more of a hang out place or fi light work for me. Atmosphere is great! Service horrible. Lots of workers focused on closing, 5 ppl waiting in line to order (2 of them had just been standing there for 10 minutes unacknowledged and ignored). Finally, I spoke up and asked if they were intentionally ignoring the people in line. The poor barista said he was the only one who could take an order and make a drink out of the 5 people I saw. The food is pretty good and the atmosphere reminds me of one of those Seattle coffee shops. I would suggest that anyone who is in the Eado should drop by. They have what seems like an awesome happy hour 6 days a week with like wine and cake on special pricing from 3-7 which if I still drank I would partake in for sure! Cool urban spot with two levels. Floors were kind of dirty and trash needed to be picked up around the table legs but lots of space for drinks & conversation or working. A bit pricy and the food seems to be hit and miss but the good stuff is really good. The tiny fruit tarts are $3 each and if you want to try the (very yummy and rich!) macaroons it will run you about $2.50 each. Avocado toast was generous in portion, very fresh & yummy, served on top of a soft yet perfectly toasted sourdough. Two slices per order instead of the usual 1. Radishes added a nice touch and it had a zesty citrus flavor I've not found at other cafes, would order again! Tomato soup was thin and not very tasty so wouldn't order that again and the $8 bacon Mac n cheese side was in need of a more cheesy sauce, noodles tasted plain and not well dressed. The Cubano wrap was good, yet the fries were on the soggy side. Iced Caramel Macchiato was good (almost $7 for a large) and order of drip coffee comes with refills. We've been here a few times, and it's a fun place. Today it was hard to find a clean table even when it was mostly empty. We had cake, cronuts, cupcakes and a Brooke. They were good but not great. They forgot about half our order which were the things that should've been served immediately, and there wasn't an apology. Wasn't a huge deal, but could been better. The main thing here is the bathroom situation is gross. You enter a common room with men's stalls on the left and women's on the right. Sinks in the middle. Now let's talk about the food, they have the best pastries I've had in the Houston area. Super pretty and extremely delicious. Everything we had was tasty and scrumptious. Geared towards yuppies and millennials, it is a place to grab your avocado toast and squeezed juices and coffee. A lot of people come to grab a coffee and study inside and some grab brunch. The juices are fine but are very overpriced. Same can be said for their dishes such as the $12 avocado toast. Parking is located in the dirt lot in the back. Overall, I have conflicted feelings about it; overpriced yuppie food next to the homeless. But it is also a decent study spot in and of itself. I'm only giving this place five stars for TODAY. I truly believe their guest service skills suck for most of their coworkers. If you see someone waiting to be served try to yell, "Hello, I'll be right with you," or something. When you don't acknowledge people's presence it just seems, so RUDE.
