White Magnolia Milk Tea - Floral without being perfumey or too sharp! Pretty good balance of tea to milk ratio and reminds me of molly tea. 4/5 Jasmine Milk Tea - honestly pretty good too. feels like a molly tea knock off with the menu offerings, cup designs and even flavor profile. its slightly too sharp but still good. 3.75/5 Da Hong Pao Milk Tea - the tea flavor is there but it doesn't mix as well as the magnolia or jasmine. I think they are better at more floral teas but this wasnt bad. 2/5 Banana Pudding Matcha - Banana flavor was not strong, it was not sweet when it should have definitely been more sweet and the flavors just didnt mix very well 0.5/5 Portugese Tart - pretty good but nothing too memorable 2.75/5

The tofu steam bun -- easily my favorite lunch item in the area -- really didn't work. It's still an interesting experience but I really can't recommend a place I now avoid. --- PROS - Interesting selection, interesting food, lots of options, overall friendly staff. - Bathrooms were clean. The interior of the restaurant seemed like a good meeting/date spot. Although they had Wifi, I wouldn't call this a great place to come and study or get work done, although I saw people doing that. I've had the Vietnamese coffee twice, the first time was great, the second time was just okay. Food items are very unique, so much so I didn't like some of them but I still enjoyed the experience. Try something that sounds weird, it's half the fun of coming in here. CONS * Allergies - it wasn't clear what all everything was made with so if you're trying to avoid gluten or peanuts or eggs, I didn't see much on ingredients. I know for some people that's a red flag. * The tea. We just thought it was above average but not amazing. I mean its right in the name, come on. * Collecting items - you gotta look for the little trays and the salad tongs. That's what you use to grab stuff out of the cases. I know for most people that was super obvious but it wasn't for me. * Summertime note: during the hotter months I've noticed they seem to have some issues with keeping things cool.

Our server, Gabriel, truly elevated our lunch into something memorable. He recommended the salmon BLT, and I'm so glad I followed his suggestion--it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. What truly set this visit apart, however, was Gabriel's service. His warm demeanor, attentiveness, and professionalism were five-star across the board. He anticipated our needs without being intrusive and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the meal. It was such a pleasant afternoon, made even better by how well we were cared for. I wholeheartedly recommend this spot for lunch--and if you have the chance, definitely ask to be seated with Gabriel. Two thumbs up!

Since I visited on a Thursday and didn't want a sandwich, I decided to go with the Butter Chicken. OMG! The dish was so yummy. In fact, the plan was to eat half of it and save the rest for dinner. However, it was so delicious that I ate the entire thing! The owner/manager has a great rapport with the Rock Cafe's visitors and seems to be on a first name basis with many of them. There is an entrance facing the road, with limited parking, that you won't need to bother the security guard to access. TL;DR: Michelin 3-starred Service by Angelica elevates a…read morefancy-casual cafe into an unassuming culinary treasure hidden in a suburban department store! Details: Having enjoyed Nordstrom's sit-down restaurant in Tysons Corner since 2023 (different name, "Marketplace Cafe" but same base menu), my dining companion and I were eager to try Ruscello. Having frequented Ruscello in its previous incarnation (Nordstrom Cafe Bethesda), we were very familiar with the spot and enjoyed many lunches there from the mid through late-1990's. As with Marketplace Cafe, Ruscello Bethesda has the same core menu offerings together with seasonal specials unique to its location. Our first 4 visits to Ruscello were great in terms of food and service--in line with Nordstrom's long-standing reputation as a classy department store that often overdelivers service-wise relative to its price bracket. However, in our most recent visit, the overall experience was on another level thanks to the superlative service led by Angelina! In our 3+ decades of dining out, we can confidently say that Angelina's quality of service is comparable to those of the best servers at the finest of big city dining destinations, including that of Michelin 3-Starred restaurants! Not only was she courteous, friendly, helpful, and attentive, she read our minds! To begin, when we requested our usual Hot Water with Lemon, she had them brought out with Mint--an ingredient which we love but never thought about requesting for our go-to hot beverage! Seeing that we were making our way through the hot water and listening to our appreciation for the addition of mint, she brought out some more without prompt! It is these finer details that can make such a major difference in terms of service! As for the food, we ordered the seasonal special of Braised Beef Sandwich with Blueberry Glaze, White Cheddar, Garlic Aioli, Pickled Onion, and Arugula that Angelina raved about (choosing the Garden Salad as the accompiment), as well as the Penne Bolognese with Spicy Italian Sausage from the regular menu. When we expressed that we wanted whichever dish was ready first, our pasta arrived beautifully as a split entree shortly after our lemon-mint tea. The pasta was piping hot and fresh, perfectly seasoned, and harmonious in flavors. Next came the Sandwich, which also arrived a split entree with a generous portion of fancy greens: ample amounts of frisée to elevate the mesclun leaves, cherry tomatoes, parmesan, and delicate vinaigrette. The beef was flavorful with demi-glace savoriness and herbiness with a touch of sweetness from the blueberry as well as retaining its juiciness and perfectly matching the gooey cheese and aioli while refreshed by pickled onions and arugula. While the pasta was terrific, the Braised Beef Sandwich was absolutely stellar, which is on par with a top-tiered dish at the fanciest of boutique steakhouses! On our immediately prior visits, we also absolutely enjoyed their Heirloom Tomato and Burrata elevated by a magical Basil Pesto, EVOO, and Grilled Sourdough Crouton as well as a crispy-crusted and savory-explosion of Truffle Mushroom Pizza (thin-crust) with Alfredo Sauce, Asiago, Mozzarella, Provolone, and Truffle-Parmesan Spice Blend. The Cod Fish & Chips has been the rare exception dish that didn't hit the mark. All in all, Angelina transformed Ruscello Bethesda from a classy cafe into a true fine dining experience in a very approachable setting. We are absolutely hooked and will be returning to try more of their menu, including the Strawberry Shortcake special that we wanted to try on our recent visit but were too full to properly enjoy.

I have to tell you that my granddaughter absolutely adores Jamie's challah rolls. She has a severe gluten allergy and celiacs disease. Red Bandana's cupcakes have become a birthday staple in our home. The service, the selection, and the quality are all fabulous. I even met my neighbor picking up baked goods at the same time. The very best part is that my granddaughter can feel just like everyone else, enjoying her delicious baked goods, with no fear of a food allergy reaction. Thank you Jamie and Red Bandana Bakery.

The cake ordering form is also very clear and easy to do substitutions and customizations. They were very friendly through the whole process and pickup was very smooth. As for the cake itself, I am personally not that well versed in gluten free/ dairy free desserts but my aunt enjoyed the cake! The cake to me was both moist but also dense at the same time; I personally like a more fluffy/ airy cake but that's my preference. The strawberry frosting was on the sweeter side; dense and sweet but honestly very nice strawberry flavor. The cake itself was beautiful! The filling was apricot reserves/jam. It was yummy, but I did feel like maybe it wasn't enough filling/ there needed to be something else in there as well that's light and airy to offset the more dense cake. Overall though, I would definitely come here again for a gluten-free/dairy free cake. The people here and the service here is excellent and the cakes are beautiful.
