    South Western Chicken Omelette
    Joevi F.

This restaurant has been open since the 80's and there is a reason why. This restaurant is a breakfast staple and I personally have been coming here for years. The owner is Middle Eastern and used to own a Kabob restaurant in Rio which I funny enough used to go to as a kid. So when that place closed and I found out that he opened this place first when I found out about this spot, it kept the same ethos of the kabob place I used to love. The South Western Chicken Omelette is my favorite item to get here. It is a Western Omelette that you know and love but the twist is that it has kabob chicken in it instead of regular chicken, it is amazing. The waffle and pancakes here are also to die for. The prices here have always been consistent and it really is a bang for your buck. The atmosphere here is great also, when you come here in the morning, you can tell the everyone here has been here before and it is just a bunch of regulars, there is a reason why people keep coming back. Also, Barbara is one of the waitresses and she has been working since it has opened, she is super friendly and always takes care of us. I cannot recommend this place enough and I will keep coming here for the foreseeable future.

Great breakfast and lunch, the French toast is really good, crab omelette, very tasty. I really like the steak fries and wish all restaurants did fries that way, customer service was really good as well, I carried the food out and didn't dine in, but I'm sure dining in service would be wonderful considering how nice they are at village green, it's a really nice warm setting inside, makes you feel like home.

So much fun and such a great little cafe type place! Definitely recommend if you enjoy breakfast and a slow town feel. We had the most pleasant waitress and a gentleman there was helping her out with anyone as needed. The place was well kept but definitely had that small town vibe. Food was a little bland for my liking but so good and easily remedied with a lot salt and pepper action. Coffee and hot chocolate was perfect temperature and the food was not melting hot but warm. The waitress did help us with some things we needed to understand... scrapple?? Apparently this is a popular thing up north and it's all the scraps of the meat cooked together. Not to bad a little dough flavor but almost like a sausage flattened. Recommended for any family looking for a good breakfast and nice people.

I've been coming here since I was about 17 and had honestly forgotten about this Gaithersburg Gem because I haven't been there in a few years. I love how it smells exactly how I remember, like sweet waffles. Stopped in this morning with my kid and had breakfast and good conversation. There was no wait and you seat yourself so that was a plus. The food was great and so was the service. My only issue was when it was time to pay the bill it took about 15 mins or so because they only had one register open, that person is also answering the phone and helping with other things, in addition to the other customers waiting to pay their bill. My French toast was amazing and the healthy helping of bacon made my morning. My daughter enjoyed the Belgium waffles and bacon as well. Thank you

Service was outstanding, ambiance was decent. But the taste of the food, was just average. Wouldn't go back from my experience.

Good food and service at a very reasonable price - as much as half off some breakfast restaurants.

I was a little apprehensive that we would have to wait to get a table but the hostess took us right away. We sat outside because we had my dog with us. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. However, she kept forgetting the small things, like glasses of water and sugar for our coffee. When she brought us the sugar each time she would only give us three packets and their were three of us at the table drinking coffee and tea. So that was pretty annoying. The food was good. We usually go to Silver Diner but this was a good change of pace. I ordered the French Toast with Bacon and eggs. It was good, I wish they used different bread for the toast though. Their wasn't really anything special about the dish. My parents ordered the Make Your Mark which included two eggs, meat, hashbrowns, and toast. They both enjoyed their breakfast. Everything was prepared and cooked to their liking. Overall, we had a good experience. Not sure when I will be back. But if you are in the area check them out. Cheers!

Reasonable gesture but not interested in eating there even for free.

I have to say, though busy, the service didn't miss a beat. Jenn - our server - was attentive/kind and fun. I got the filet mignon with the compound butter and my homie got some BBRibs to complement the aforementioned cornbread. The food came out fast and we got to eating. As always with every time I've been here, it slapped. Sides were solid, the steak was cooked to perfection and them ribs were disappearing off the plate! Good times. We followed up our entrees with a solid - and I mean solid - bread pudding. Jeez, this thing is decadent, but we got after it. Jenn brought us a scoop of ice cream and we went to town! Delicious. If you've got a sweet tooth, do yourself a favor and grab the Bread Pudding. It was soft, pillowy, but sweet (not overly sweet) and filling. As for ambiance, again, we were kickin it patio side and could see the water just fine. Honestly, this was a dope backdrop for our super deep convo on Frank Ocean vs. Frankie Beverley. Before I let you go, check'em out some time. You'll enjoy it. Or do you not think so far ahead?

Ava took care of us and she was simply amazing from her demeanor and kindness to her stellar recommendations. We began with their extremely fresh spinach dip that included salsa and sour cream. My girlfriend ordered the massive, warm, and yummy cornbread skillet as well as their Fiesta Eggrolls. I am not an eggroll fan but these were the best I have ever had. Absolutely fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I had the rainbow trout with spinach and mashed potatoes. The fish was fresh, light, and tasty. The trout itself was a very generous portion. For dessert, we dove into their Chocolate Uprising: Sort of like a ice cream sandwich on steroids with heavy cream and a chocolate and caramel base. It was fantastic and insane and we just couldn't finish it! I cannot remember having caramel that good (not sweet but rich). The staff is excellent. They work so well in concert from running food to clearing dishes. The bartenders are outstanding. I had a perfect Hendrick's Gin martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and my girlfriend loved her Malibu Bay Breeze. We look forward to returning -- and we'll start with the Chocolate Uprising and go from there!

We ordered the Big Eaters Platter, the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs, and shared a Nutella Crepe with Strawberries for dessert. The portions were generous, especially the Big Eaters Platter, making it a solid choice if you're coming in hungry. The corned beef hash was decent, and the Nutella crepe with fresh strawberries was a nice sweet finish to the meal. That said, I thought the food was just okay for the price. Nothing we ordered was bad, but nothing really stood out enough to make me want to come back. The quality was solid, but I left feeling like there are better breakfast options in the area for the same price point. If you work nearby or are visiting one of the surrounding medical offices or hospitals, I could definitely see this being a convenient spot for a quick breakfast or lunch. However, as someone visiting the area, I don't think it's a place I'd go out of my way to return to. Overall, friendly service and a clean restaurant helped make for a pleasant experience, but the food didn't quite justify the price. A good neighborhood café if you're close by, but probably not a destination breakfast spot.
