I've driven by this place so many times, but the entrance from Frederick Road (Rockville Pike) is a bit awkward, and I never really focused on it being here. Based on so many positive Yelp reviews about its breakfast, I decided to give it a shot. It's a solid eatery. The place is comfortable, well lit, with a heavy diner feel that I really like. All the customers seemed to know the waitstaff by name (Barbara), which I find cool. She was very attentive and friendly. The veggie omelette with egg whites was very good, with tomato, broccoli and cauliflower (I ordered it without cheese). It came with home fries and toast. The home fries were well prepared and came with a covering of sautéed onions. Yum. I got an English muffin that I ordered without butter and it was . . . an English muffin. (C'mon, I'm not going to be dramatic about an English muffin. : ) ). And the coffee is decent with free refill. read more

First time ever eating in the restaurant? It was very clean, they did have seating. So that you can sit in and enjoy, They're open from six am until three pm daily. They have a large menu from sandwiches, salads, coffe, juice and also have Italian items. They serve breakfast all day everything is fresh made to order. Services was welcoming and very pleasant. The waitress Barbara is charming. Best of all, she is a very good waitress. She multitasks all over the place by herself but somehow swings by the table at just the right time to top off the coffee. It was our first time here. It seems everyone else was a local regular and most often, she knew them and what they wanted. About the food - we arrived at lunch time and I thought I would get a sub until I saw the Persian dishes on the menu. OMG! So good, large portions and enough to take home for another meal. We have been going to Village Green on Sundays since about 2018 when my son moved to Gaithersburg. It is like a diner but restaurant shaped! Service is always fast and the food always comes out right and well prepared. It is all fresh(if you order the potatoes, you will see). The staff knows us and we know them. My son always orders the same thing - so the waitresses know without asking him. I change things up sometimes- so I have has breakfast and lunch items. Everyone is friendly - including other customers- some of whom arre regulars like us. The prices are really reasonable I really appreciate that there are no TVs(well, there is one but it has never been on) or loud music. And you can hear yourself talk! read more

If you love old time diners, this is the place for you! They have a convenient parking lot in the back, great prices and lovely service. Seems like a lot of regulars here and almost feels like you're back in time with the nostalgic decor. Even better, the prices seem nostalgic! Barbara was the one that served us and she was very helpful and friendly. Tried the weekday special breakfast for $8.99 with scrapple (never had it before, it's delicious!). Ordered a side of corn beef hash for $4.95 which was a big portion for the price. Barbara also asked if i wanted the scrapple and corn beef hash "crispy" which is a game changer. This restaurant has been open since the 80's and there is a reason why. This restaurant is a breakfast staple and I personally have been coming here for years. The owner is Middle Eastern and used to own a Kabob restaurant in Rio which I funny enough used to go to as a kid. So when that place closed and I found out that he opened this place first when I found out about this spot, it kept the same ethos of the kabob place I used to love. The South Western Chicken Omelette is my favorite item to get here. It is a Western Omelette that you know and love but the twist is that it has kabob chicken in it instead of regular chicken, it is amazing. The waffle and pancakes here are also to die for. The prices here have always been consistent and it really is a bang for your buck. The atmosphere here is great also, when you come here in the morning, you can tell the everyone here has been here before and it is just a bunch of regulars, there is a reason why people keep coming back. Also, Barbara is one of the waitresses and she has been working since it has opened, she is super friendly and always takes care of us. They were quick and friendly. Items were made correctly. Basic breakfast. We ordered the daily special breakfast. When I ordered, she asked how I wanted my eggs. I told her. She asked about meat. I told her extra crispy bacon. She asked if I wanted "onions or no onions." So I said onions only to find out when the bill came that onions cost extra. When I asked about it, she said, "the menu says it." Based on the way she asked questions, that was very easy to miss. If she had asked, "would you like to add onions," I would have declined. So much fun and such a great little cafe type place! Definitely recommend if you enjoy breakfast and a slow town feel. We had the most pleasant waitress and a gentleman there was helping her out with anyone as needed. The place was well kept but definitely had that small town vibe. Food was a little bland for my liking but so good and easily remedied with a lot salt and pepper action. Coffee and hot chocolate was perfect temperature and the food was not melting hot but warm. The waitress did help us with some things we needed to understand... scrapple?? Apparently this is a popular thing up north and it's all the scraps of the meat cooked together. I've been coming here since I was about 17 and had honestly forgotten about this Gaithersburg Gem because I haven't been there in a few years. I love how it smells exactly how I remember, like sweet waffles. Stopped in this morning with my kid and had breakfast and good conversation. There was no wait and you seat yourself so that was a plus. The food was great and so was the service. My only issue was when it was time to pay the bill it took about 15 mins or so because they only had one register open, that person is also answering the phone and helping with other things, in addition to the other customers waiting to pay their bill. The customer service is horrible, to say the least. They never want to answer the phone, and if they do answer have to stay on hold we'll over 15mins. On hold to them is answering and putting the phone down. In person customer service is even worse. They rush, barely greet and don't have enough servers, cashiers or people to answer the phone. So, this is really a great place. It's a hole in the wall, but the food is solid. We came for a Saturday breakfast and were quite happy with both price and quality. The atmosphere is, well, hole in the wall. It's a somewhat confused Asian theme with old time diner vibes and unique breakfast fair. It's truly a site to behold. My only gripe was our server was a little rude, she seemed to have no patience for myself or my fiance. This is a gem. I must have driven by this little place 2,000 times and never noticed. However, having an early appointment and feeling hungry after, we noticed this place when we searched for a breakfast place in Gaithersburg. First of all, the parking is a little difficult. secondly, it is not the most comfortable seating. Those are the only negatives. It's a great breakfast menu and I think the lunch menu is also pretty good. It's very reasonably priced and that's hard to find these days. I had the Southwest Omelette made with chicken, Jack cheese, I think and salsa. It was very good. My husband had a platter. The service was great. Everything is amazing here and it's a classic diner experience! Food proportions are huge and everyone is so friendly! One thing is that the hours listed on Yelp are incorrect and they are open 7 days a week. Yelp currently says they are closed on Sunday and Monday which is not true. read more

When a coworker suggested breakfast at Village Green I was confused. I had never heard about or seen this place before today. I'm always down to try new places and gave this breakfast joint a shot. First things first, the parking lot is a nightmare! There's only one way in and one way out. I would be shocked if there hasn't been a lot of accidents in the parking lot. Once I walked in I noticed how dated the restaurant is. I have to admit I was nervous considering the upkeep was nonexistent. We picked a booth and were quickly approached by a waitress who appeared annoyed and unhappy to be there. I ordered the weekday breakfast: two eggs, meat, toast, and potatoes for $5.99. This appears to be a cheap staple for those living in Gaithersburg. It became very apparent that people who come here have been coming for a while. Our food was out within 10 minutes and was piping hot. I wasn't a huge fan of the potatoes but everything else was good, especially for the price. I enjoyed the home town diner feel. I would definitely visit again but would try something else. I've heard great things about the Belgium waffles. I would also hope for a different waitress, maybe someone more friendly. read more
