The fries were so crispy and light, you can tell they make it themselves bc the potatoes were so fresh! The coleslaw was one of the best I've ever had, so crunchy and thin and ice cold. We got it to eat there. The staff was so nice and came over with a bottle of ketchup for us since we had missed the condiments section. I was so impressed they took the time to notice and care. I truly felt so taken care of and can't wait to go back and try breakfast! The line moves quickly so don't be intimidated. This is what a breakfast place should be. Extremely friendly, quick, reasonably priced and comfortable seating. I came in and ordered a veggie omelette with no meat or cheese, rye toast and home fries with onion. Also ordered a bottle of water. I sat at a table for two in the front and a few minutes later my order was called. The staff (owner) directed me to the place where there were squeeze bottles of ketchup, hot sauce and what tastes like a mustard-based bbq sauce (delicious). First found Peter's after a bloodwork/check up fast a few years ago and got a BLT+egg. Best BLT type sandwich I've ever had. I pop in there every few months when the BLTE cycles up in my head. There aren't many real short order/diner type spots in the area but this one does the trick. Would love if it they had a counter/counter seats. The manager is a character, his greetings in person and for the phone in orders are always enthusiastic. There must be many regulars as he says to at least half of them the items for order and they just say yes when they make it to the head of the line. (Updated rating) quick and friendly service. Came for French toast & steak n cheese but was only able to get steak n cheese since breakfast wasn't being served at the time I arrived. I ordered steak n cheese (with lettuce ketchup mayo tomato onion peppers) combo that came with fries and a fountain drink for 14$. The food was good but was pretty expensive for the serving when comparing it to other local spots like the great BLT grill who sells steak n cheese and fries together for just 10$ with the same or slightly bigger portions. The owner is super kind -- and I can tell he is quite the busy one in there! Almost every other customer in there knew him and you can tell there are a lot of regulars. I decided to go with the breakfast platter since I hadn't eaten yet, and it wasn't long before it was ready. The platter includes eggs of any desired style (I always do scrambled), toast, potatoes and a choice of meat (I did turkey bacon). There are plenty of condiments for spicing up the food, such as ketchup, pepper, salt and much more! In terms of flavors, the bacon was nice and smoky, the eggs were tasty, and the toast was nice and buttery. As for the potatoes, I needed those fixings to spice them up. They were piping hot, but it just didn't seem like anything was added to spruce them up. But aside from that, everything was good!! There are some tables to dine in, and the vibe is definitely nice. When it's not busy, I wouldn't be surprised if the owner comes out and chats with people... he just seems so friendly! Anytime I'm visiting a new sub shop or grill in an area. I'm not familiar with, I'm a skeptic. Rightfully so. So when I went in here, I wanted a BLT, but everybody's BLT is in great. It's a simple sandwich with a huge variability in product. So I decided to order a few sandwiches, with plans to share pieces of each. I ordered a BLT and wheat, a turkey club, and at the last minute, added on a jumbo cheeseburger with everything to include the hot peppers. And the winner is............. That jumbo cheeseburger didn't even make it out of the parking lot.! it was absolutely amazing, and the hot peppers, even though I think they gave me heartburn after afterward, were the best idea ever to add to a burger. In second place, I would say the turkey club, and coming in Last is the BLT. Not because it was disgusting, but you have to have the right bacon that's crispy, not too thick, but plentiful, and have the right ratio of bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo. Staff can make or break a place- the perceived owner, was so kind! And everyone seemed happy to be there. Including the regulars coming in to retrieve their orders. Loved it! Bottom line is if I'm in the area I will definitely modify my route to find this place and add it to my trip. read more

I am gonna update my review. Most places deserve a second chance. So I ordered an bacon egg and cheese croissant, and on a separate visit, I ordered French toast with sausage. Let me tell ya, Both are delicious!!!! The place is still outdated but it don't matter, sometimes that's good thing. Sometimes the hole in the wall places have the best food! The employees are cool and work fast. There might be a delay, but that's because they are popular during breakfast hours. They are back on my good list. Fantastic little old school deli right next to Dogizone in Rockville off East Gude. I decided to grab a little breakfast and lunch there cause you can't beat a BLT for $4.29. And you can't beat a delicious bacon, egg, and cheese bagel for $3.95. BLT was fresh, nicely squared off, a little small, but for the price was excellent. The bacon, egg, and cheese bagel was quite good! Nice, warm, with gooey cheesy center. The bagel was well toasted and very soft. It was basically the white bread of bagels... if you know what I mean. It's no where close to a New York Style Bagel... but I don't hate on white bread by any means. And for some applications it's just better. Like a grilled cheese sandwich... give me white bread for that B all day eeryday. Honestly, some breakfast bagel sandwiches I've had that are on legit bagels, the bagel is way too big and aggressive, and you just get too much bread in each bite. I really did appreciate this bagel breakfast sandwich. I also got some home fries well done. They were delicious too! They asked me if I wanted onions in them, and I was like, why not - sure! They were VERY good. And the little (what I guess is housemade) hot sauce that they included with the meal was super clutch. I took away one star because one of the kitchen staff had her mask down on her chin while preparing food. First off... I can't imagine how it is to work in a hot kitchen all day with a mask on. Being outside in the heat with a mask on is not crazy comfortable by any means. But, I just feel like if you need to pull down your mask to get some fresh air, you should definitely be stepping out of the kitchen. The customer service at the front was excellent. They have hand sanitizer available, and they have put tables in front of the front counter to create that natural 6 foot distance between you and the cashier. I would definitely come back, I'm assuming the mask issue was a one time fluke as everyone else in the kitchen was wearing their masks properly. Peter's Grill is an unpretentious, unassuming little breakfast/sandwich shop in a "blink and you'll miss it" storefront along Gude Drive. The biggest clue to its existence will be all the cars parked around it, because locals (and a bunch of construction crews) love any place where you can get good, satisfying, reasonably priced food, and Peter's Grill is exactly that. The platters and sandwiches are a great deal, but I can't pass up the steak and cheese (or, if it's pre-11 am, the steak, egg and cheese) with the mustard-y BBQ sauce. It's definitely a sandwich that gets the outside of the paper bag greasy, but it's also comfort food and a great treat. Peter's grill is an establishment run by none other than the man himself for 20+ years now. Food is great and reasonably priced, plus they're extremely friendly in there. He was very kind to my 3 year old son. I used to be a mechanic near by in 2004 and had stopped in then. This Italian cold cut was excellent. I've also had the jumbo cheeseburger sub here that was really good as well. I hear the cheesesteaks are good, so I can't wait to try one of those.
