Ok I'm not sure how to feel about this place yet seeing it was my first visit. Upon me getting to the register to order the young man there which looked teenage young he looked and acted like he didn't want to be there and I get that, he probably wants to be with his friends but it looks family owned and family does what family needs to. Ok I ordered Sambosa with meat and a House Salad and two min cheese breads. All the food was delicious the salad was very fresh I loved the cheese bread. I will definitely try them again because that salad was on point!

This restaurant opened about to months ago and they have Mediterranean-style delights like chicken Mandi, savory pies, wraps, and more. With fantastic prices that won't break the bank, this gem is a takeout treasure. Plus, a handful of cozy dine-in tables await for those who can't resist savoring every bite on-site. Check them out today.

There's a parking garage in the rear and plenty of spots. I did enter through the rear of the establishment since I parked there. The menu is pretty extensive. Ended up getting the half order of hummus. A basket of warm pita and two sauces came out. I initially thought that was the pita. This was complimentary I believe. The garlic sauce is solid. The other one is a spicy sauce of some sort. This spicy one was super good. The hummus came out. Very smooth and flavorful. For my entree, I got the Shish Kafta. You can choose between lamb or chicken. I went with the chicken with a side of rice and my choice of soup or salad. I opted for the lentil soup. That came out piping hot. This was delicious. Flavorful and good texture. My entree came out and wow. The portion is way more than what you pay for. Came with 4 very huge blocks of chicken kefta. Nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Had a nice char on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. I used the two sauces from earlier to give it an extra kick. I washed it all down with a mint lemonade. This was absolutely refreshing. Clean place, very good food and the customer service was solid.

Michigan weather would make me want this type of soup on a regular basis. The garlic sauce is a thick dip that was great for dipping the falafel and the fries. You have the option to get your fries seasoned- do that! It has a little spice but it's perfect. The falafel was perfectly cooked. Not too dry with a little crunch. I would definitely order those on each visit. The sandwich was filling and stuffed full of perfectly seasoned chicken. The garlic dip and pickles were spread throughout the inside of the sandwich as well. The thin bread was both soft and crisp. We ended with a hot black tea with cardamom. It was a great way to finish the meal. Although it is not a profile I am used to, I enjoyed it. The service was top tier! The young man was so friendly and polite. He offered suggestions and was quick with our food. It was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommended this place. Be sure to check it out.

I had some outstanding green lentil soup, Iraqi beef kebab, rice, and samoon. And I absolutely loved the tea which is flavored with cardamom. I truly enjoyed my conversation with Ali who takes care of the front of the house. He provided great service, and I appreciated his hospitality. He treated me just like family. Just fantastic service by Ali with Baba cooking in the kitchen and serving up great dishes. Fantastic experience. I cannot wait to visit again to get some Iraqi breakfast. Truly a destination drive!

I can't believe the place is still here after all of these years. There are 2 types of subs here: Italian, and "Other Subs", so you know that this shop sprang from the vibrant Italian community that once populated Detroit. The Italian Subs at Gonella's are ordered according to how many layers it builds up (which I think is a unique concept). These layered Gonella Italian Subs are layered with a variety of Italian meats (Hard Salami, Salami Cotto, Mortadella, Smoked Ham and Capicola), provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions & Gonella's homemade dressing. Soft or hard roll. Extras: Peppers (+.50) Cheese (+.50) - (Turkey is reserved for the "Other Subs). 6 Layers Meat, 1 Layer Cheese --- $8 8 Layers Meat, 2 Layer Cheese --- $9 12 Layers Meat, 2 Layer Cheese --- $12 14 Layers Meat, 3 Layer Cheese --- $13 18 Layers Meat, 3 Layer Cheese --- $14 The subs are heavy and delicious. Soft sub buns, tons of stacks of meat, lettuce and tomato or not. No one goes hungry after a sub here. Some deli spots tend to skimp on the protein, but not this place. My team members favorite is the Italian, 6 stacks. I usually will go for a turkey or chicken stack. They offer up to 18 stacks, haven't tried that yet.
