As in my mind I got the impression it was just like another Jiffy Lube. Well how wrong I was. They ordered the tires at 2 PM. My appointment was for 4 PM the next day. They took my car in on time and the paperwork was very fast and accurate. I expected to be there 2 to 3 hours like most tire places. I used to come here for all my tire needs and the service was top notch. in the last few months their service has become sketchy and their work has been unacceptable. my wife took her Impala in for a pair of new tires. they encouraged her to "rotate" her rear tires to the front for no logical reason. the tech knocked the balancing weights off the old tires and sent my wife off with grossly imbalanced tires. she immediately returned and they charged her to rebalance the tires they had knocked out of balance. i recently received a set of alloy wheels for an antique car and called them to mount the tires. they flat out refused to do for me what they have done for year's previously. terrible service. terrible attitudes. Bought 4 new tires only to find one flat a few hours later. Take off bring it out there before 9:00 am the following morning to be taken care of. My husband leaves it there and gets a phone call at 3:57. Your tire is all set but we close at 4:00. I can't get there in 3 minutes. Couldn't you have called a few minutes earlier. Sorry we close at 4:00! My husband says I live close and I'm leaving right now, if I'm not there leave it by the door. No we can't do that. Im not going all weekend without the tire. Do what you want I'm on my way. The service provider was at the door waiting. My husband asked about the sensor. Oh you're all set. Guess what...we are not all set. Our daughter is a student at Salve and had a blow out on one of her tires just before finals week (and the day before her birthday). It was not possible for her to bring the car home on the spare, and it had to be done on a tight time frame because we had to catch a ferry. Jason was GREAT he made sure that they had the tires in stock and got us right in when we arrived. He gave us the choice of a few tires we could go with and made sure to check all of them to make sure the others were okay. We ended up doing 2 new ones on the rear and they moved the other one to the front with an alignment on all 4. It was reasonably priced and best of all it was done so we could get the ferry with time to spare! Disappointed in the service I received. I had made an appointment for early morning to have my tires rotated and when I got there I waited 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me and then was told, despite my appointment, that it would likely be in an hour and a half wait. When I questioned why so long just to rotate tires, they stated they were a number of people ahead of me. I was in town from Massachusetts for the afternoon with my wife for lunch. As we were about to head home we stopped for ice cream and I heard a hissing sound from my tire. I panicked because my car does not come with a spare tire and it was now 5pm so places will be closing soon. I checked my gps and was so happy that I saw a town fair tire 3 miles down the road and they closed in an hr. Lucky I made it just before my tire went completely flat from the nail in the tread. Went inside just to be told I would have to wait until tomorrow because they closed in an hr! I explained I just needed a plug but they still insisted I needed to stay the night in RI or go next door and John's and they will help me. I went to town fair tire to get too tires for the front and a four-wheel alignment. They told me they couldn't do the alignment because they couldn't get the bolts loose. I said don't you have mechanics? And they said the alignment people are not mechanics. I was back and forth between my mechanic and Town Fair tire twice before they could get my front end the line. Normally, this place is great. But they haven't figured out how to work in COVID times. Knowing they would be short staffed/busy, I made an appointment instead of dropping in. I expected to wait longer than usual but it was 1.5 HOURS before they even took my car into the bay. I couldn't go anywhere because I was waiting for them to discuss whether I need a tire, to pick a tire, etc. it was another 30-45 min to do the work. I'm willing to give some "COVID" leeway but a 2.5 hour wait when you have an appointment is entirely unacceptable. It would not have been an issue if they told me up front-would have dropped the car off. I hope they figure it out because the workers are nice and the service is good. I have bought tires here for FIVE different cars! They are good with there price point on tires and terrible on the Service side. I came in to have my tires rotated ( with a appointment) and waited over 4 hours. Ended up have to leave to go back to work. Was told to come back the next morning and they would get me right in. Came back to be told it was going to be at least 3 hours before they could get to it! Came in once more with nail in my tire at 10 am only to be told I would have to wait 5 HOURS! They need to hire more people or something because the wait times are ridiculous! Came back in for a tire that is loosing air. I called in first to see if it could be done today. "Sure " they said. Once arriving I was told the wait would be at least 4-5 HOURS!!!! If a business is doing well and is busy it would make sense to better serve there loyal customers to HIRE MORE PEOPLE !! I was called and informed that my car was done 15 minutes before the closing time, 6:45PM the day that I was told my single tire change would be completed. I left it overnight the day before so that it could be worked on and completed with the expectation that it could or would be done in the early afternoon the next day. However this was a poor assumption. Additionally, I was charged for a $139 Michelin Latitude tire and when I got home found a $60 Discount Tire. Not sure if this was by mistake but I paid for 2 Uber rides and will need to pay for another 2 more to have it corrected. I have now bought new tires for two of our vehicles at Town Fair Tire, Middletown, RI and have been very impressed on both occasions. This time around I wanted to mount more comfortable tires on an additional set of rims for my Wrangler, as the OEM ATs were surviving Aquidneck Island's never ending potholes and frost heaved roads, but were sending too much of our third world road's jolts to the passenger compartment. I called to get help narrowing down my research to one of two tire options, spoke to Delton and his knowledge of the tires was not only very helpful but exceptionally impressive. Delton had my tires in the shop as well as mounted on my extra rims within 24 hours and though his coordination and oversight of my preferences was impeccable, Ed also was ever vigilant to ensure everything was happening on time, up to their high standards and that they were meeting my every expectation.
