Extremely disappointed in my service today. Made an appointment for 11am. Was told it would be about 2 hours for an oil change so we walked around the area. Came back 2 hours later. Our cars hadn't moved. We asked if they were done. The guy behind the counter got upset with us saying since you didn't wait here we decided to do the other cars that showed up first. Decided to take one car back since we didn't have the time to wait an extra couple hours. Still didn't get our other car back until 3pm for an 11am appointment. Wish we could've gotten some sort of discount for wasting an entire day but instead they just blamed us for the poor customer service we received. read more

Anthony (at the front desk) was polite & efficient. My Volvo was ready in a timely manner. The tech who switched out my tires did an exceptional job - he even came out to see where I wanted the rims and summer tires loaded into the vehicle. The interior was spotless - no handprints nor odor was present when I got into my car after the service. The only minor point was that the tires were filled to 32lbs and my car requires 36lbs. This was not an issue for me because I carry an air pump in my roof box. When I arrived home, it took only a few minutes to top off the tire pressure. Again, this was an excellent experience! ! Even though Sullivan Tire in Newport has a jam-packed schedule -and I just realized they work a full day on Saturdays, too!-, this shop did gladly order, mount & balance & align a new set of tires for my wife's Volvo before impending bad weather. Not only were they clear about my Options to replace these tires, but they were also willing to check and replace a brake light bulb at no extra cost! Visiting from NJ for a few days, I picked up a nail & slow leak somewhere along the way. Anthony at Sullivan tire was accommodating and had me out of there in 45 minutes with a repaired tire for $30. I took a few minutes to thank Patrick, the service technician, for fixing the tire and allowing my family to enjoy our vacation without any interruption. The waiting area was both large & clean. This place is awesome! I got a flat tire and had aaa come put the donut on. They recommended Sullivan's and said that's where they buy their tires. I called them, they were so nice and told me I could bring my car in right away. Instead of just plugging it, I knew I needed new tires anyway so I told them that and they didn't force me into anything I didn't want to do. I realized that it's better to get tires replaced in pairs so when I got there I asked them if they could just do both and they said "yes no problem". They replaced both tires in less than an hour and it ended up costing less than I expected! This place is my new go-to for anything wrong with my car. read more

I bought 4 new tires here with insurance 6 months ago. I have a Volvo with tire inflation sensors. They broke one putting on the new tires. The ABS, tire inflation and ESC lights all came on but not immediately because I didn't drive on a highway. Then the car wouldn't drive at all, I had it towed to Volvo. 3 months later I got another flat and took a chance on them again, made an appointment at Sullivan. They didn't write down the appt so I had to wait. I asked nicely to be careful of the tire sensors as they broke one last time. They broke the sensor again on the tire they plugged! The sensors turn off the braking system, an expensive needless repair. I was told, by a qualified mechanic that if the device that takes off the tire isn't opposite the stem it will break it. Twice they've broken my tire sensors. They are not skilled enough to change tires nor operate with integrity. read more

I was a walk in for a car inspection on 3/14/22. There was one person at the desk and he was crazy busy on the phone which kept ringing. He acknowledged me when I approached and said he would help me shortly. He kept updating the people on hold on the phone as well as myself. They took me in and my car was done in no time. There as a woman with a small child waiting for tires. They were not able to help her in the morning but promised to have her car done by the end of the day. We came in for a routine car safety inspection for a car that is only 2 years old (2020) and were told we needed four new tires. After we took their advice, the tire light came on. We took it to the nearest dealership and were told that one of the tire sensors was broken --likely from being damaged when the tires were put on. So we ended up spending well over a thousand dollars for a routine check that should have cost $50. read more

Great place locally in Newport for quick and dependable oil changes, tire work, etc. I usually come and wait while the work happens. They have a Nice waiting area with Wifi and comfortable seats so that it's pleasant sitting and taking some time while the work gets done. I like knowing that they have a courtesy van to drop me off if the work needs longer time. Helpful staff, easy to call and make appointments. In my experience coming here for several years for oil changes, they are generally courteous and clear in communications, would recommend. read more

I went here for rear brake issues. I was told I needed rear pads, caliper and rotor which I knew- the car was driven when it shouldn't have been which was our fault. The kicker was that I was told the front needed all of those things too. The price was extremely high, but more interestingly was that the front brakes should not have needed all the things- they had been replace under a year ago. I picked up the car, declining their service, and brought it to another mechanic. The mechanic explained that yes, the rear brakes needed all the replacements, but that the front were fine and that over 50% of the front brakes were still absolutely fine. Hopefully a filing to the FTC will help. Awful experience. read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would. My son had his car towed there last month and they did work which cost him over $400. When he left, the car was still overheating (what it was brought in for) and was assured it was drivable, for now but needed more repairs. My son drove it back to school and we had to have it towed to our own mechanic who informed us the replacement Sullivan tire made, was broken and he would have never fixed this car since the engine was no good. We had to junk the car. These people are despicable human beings. And screwed over my son, knowing he was young. Now we are out over $600 with towing costs and have no car. Terrible, terrible service! I adjusted my 1 star to a 3. After my previous review, Chris from their corporate office called, and unlike my treatment from the Newport location, Chris was very understanding and we agreed to disagree on some points but all in all I was very happy with his customer service and the resolution to my issue read more
