we absolutely love this place, it's our go to downtown. the pizza is divine but on this visit i got the turkey burger and it did not disappoint. it was delicious! so flavorful and balanced well. i didn't care for the fries but the burger was too good to care. we also had the bar pretzel which is always a hit. towne usually has pretty good espresso martinis too, which can be hard to find. our server was a little all over the place but was super sweet and the vibes here are always great! read more

Well - what could you improve? I could get my meal. Came here on a Wednesday. Apparently the only thing that matters is the trivia for middle school drop outs. Ordered drinks and a burger at the bar. My dining partner ordered a pizza. Drinks came - were fine. The pizza came pretty quickly. Was told it was good. My burger never came. After 30 minutes told the bartender to cancel it. She went to the kitchen and said they "missed it". She was very pleasant and apologetic. Will not return. Went to try the restaurant week menu and personally ended up ordering brunch instead. The brunch menu was surprisingly varied ranging from bacon & eggs to breakfast pizzas, chicken and waffles and skillets. I had the breakfast quesadilla which had scrambled eggs, ham, cheese and jalapeño. A solid 7 out of 10. We also ordered from the restaurant week menu which was a GREAT deal for $20 - a ridiculous amount of food. It includes a full sized appetizer and an entree. Service was a bit slow with the waiter forgetting to bring a spoon for the soup for 20 minutes. They appeared to be understaffed like a lot of local businesses. The soup was cold and not edible when the spoon arrived. The waiter apologized profusely about the orders taking so long to come out and comped our sodas. Seating is large and comfortable in a bar atmosphere. It does get a bit loud with the games playing on the tv but that is expected. Overall, a great pizza/brunch joint similar to Yardhouse minus the riff raff. read more

My husband and I went to the Towne Parlor for a date night. We have been a few times before and always enjoyed the food. Sadly tonight, we had some disappointing entrees. To start we ordered the pepperoni pizza pretzel. This was off their "game day menu", which was a very cool concept to have certain food offered durning football season. When we got it, I thought the pretzel was good, but it was served with cold tomato sauce. I was disappointed that I was eating a warm pretzel with ice cold sauce. It completely through my whole experience off. We also order the boneless wings which were delicious. Lastly, we got the Nutella pizza.(which was the whole reason we went) Sadly, tonight it was just not all that. It look over 30 mins to get, and when it did some it wasn't prepared the best. There was more dough than Nutella. It was very disappointing. Our waitress was great and did apologize for the wait. read more

Both workers were just on their phones the whole time and we waited a long time to get the check and never got checked on until then because some people came in that I assume were their friends and they were just talking while we waited. My friend and I came here for a quick pizza & beer before going out. Unfortunately, there was nothing quick about our experience at Towne Parlor. As an appetizer, we ordered the kale and artichoke dip. However, it did not come out until about 15 minutes after our entrees which was quite strange. By the time it arrived, we didn't even want it anymore. The dip itself was a pretty standard artichoke dip, it came in a cast iron skillet but was surprisingly not very hot at all. In fact, after a few bites it was cold and unpleasant. For our pizzas, we ordered the Bee Sting & the New Yorker. As a big fan of Mike's Hot Honey, I was very excited to try the Bee Sting pizza that also had hot sopressatta, another favorite of mine. This pizza was surprisingly not spicy at all, in fact it somehow managed to taste bland. Disappointing. The New Yorker was just a regular cheese pizza and the crust on both pizzas were burnt. In short, this food was just OK. As for the service, it was absolutely awful. Our waitress was inattentive and simply did not care whatsoever. We spent most of our time attempting to flag her down and being blatantly ignored rather than being able to enjoy our food. I really hate badly reviewing a fairly new restaurant, however the lack of effort here is very apparent. There are really no redeeming qualities about it, I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

I am meeting a friend for dinner and he picked this place. I'm a little early and have read almost all their reviews - some good, some bad. The one key thing that worries me BEFORE I go in is that the management, which was directly criticized in a few reviews hasn't bothered to thank anyone for a good review or have a canned or genuine response for a negative review. Especially since this is a new spot in town - wouldn't you want to help build the brand and the following by interacting with Yelp. Honestly I have to question the business sense before I even step in the door. Food review to follow: Ok the service and food were actually pretty good. Our waitress was very nice, professional and did not hang all over us. We got an order of the dry rub wings and they were great. My buddy got a plain cheese pizza like a 12 year old and it was good. I tried this popular downtown Stamford eatery by making a reservation for Saturday at 7pm. We arrived promptly at 7pm and were told since wanted a table outdoors it would be a 30 minutes wait. Odd since we had a reservation and there were 4 empty tables outdoors. A few minutes later I received a text that my table was ready and to arrive at the host station. This was also strange since I was already standing there. I guess he couldn't be bothered with verbal interaction. From this point all else was fantastic including an attentive waiter. I'm so glad this place opened up - it's exactly what we needed downtown. So far I have ordered takeout twice, and finally visited to eat in today for the restaurant week lunch special. I've been in an ongoing quest to find the best wings around Stanford, so when towne parlor opened up I had to try theirs. I believe they are the same ownership as their neighbor Hudson social, but with a different focus (HS doesn't have as much of a wing or pizza selection). I ordered delivery, which often has a not-great effect on wings, and tried two flavors. And.....They were fantastic! I had them again (also delivery) with my cousin and we agreed they were very good once again. Honestly these may be my favorite wings in the area now, texture- and quality-wise. I do wish they had a hotter sauce, but I started supplementing most of this area's wings with my own heat a while back :) (exception: the brickhouse has a seriously hot sauce option, and I love it. Their wing texture is hit or miss though). They're a little pricey if you're just ordering wings, since they're priced as more expensive appetizers. Maybe a wing night is a good future promo? :D I also tried the margherita and the bee sting pizzas (delivered),and both were very good. Great crust and fresh tasting ingredients. For restaurant week I stopped by for the lunch special, any starter salad and any pizza, for under $15. I had the beet and orange starter salad and it was even better than expected ... really BEET my expectations with the red and golden beets, goat cheese, smoked almonds, orange sections, and zesty arugula. Paired with a local, light sour draft beer it was perfect. For my pizza selection I went with the G.O.A.T. -- pistachio pesto, more goat cheese, actual pistachios, rosemary, truffle honey. I only had one slice while there (excited for the easy lunch/dinner options the leftovers will become!) and it was very good. I do think I liked the bee sting a bit more, and I remember really appreciating the margherita fresh flavors especially reheated the next day. Sounds like I'll have to do a side by side sometime to truly rank them :) The bar staff wore masks, sanitized, and were overall great and friendly and attentive. I loved the ambience, with the winding bartop and the many roomy booths and the slightly rustic-chic feel from the brick and wood. I'll give the music playing a B ;) I'm seriously considering returning tomorrow for The last day of restaurant week, to try another salad and pizza flavor. I'm sure I can push some vegetables around to make room in my freezer for leftovers. P.S. the happy hour looks great. This restaurant just opened up recently in the large space on Bedford Street next to the Hudson Grille. The inside of the restaurant was clean and nicely redone. Since the space is large, there is no worry about being too close to the table next to you and the hostess does a good job of spacing the tables apart from each other. Our waiter consistently checked-in with our table and filled up our water glasses in a timely manner. There were many pizza and beer options to choose from. The pizza options go above and beyond your normal pizza topping combinations. Overall a good first visit to the restaurant and will definitely go back. read more

Finally tried Towne Parlor - definitely was not overly impressed but would return for something other than pizza. We got the Nonna's Meatball and The Abe Froman pizzas - the dough and crust were well-prepared, but the meatballs tasted like they were recently defrosted which really ruined that pie. For the price and quality, there is definitely much better pizza you can get in the Stamford, CT area. However, they have a great craft beer and cocktail selection, and the indoor/outdoor space is clean and spacious. Hopefully it will turn into a fun space at night as well! read more

I am so excited to be reviewing this place because it certainly exceeded my expectations. As sad as I was to see Brother Jimmy's go, Towne Parlor fits the Stamford community very well. It fits right in to Bedford Street. We have the Barada and the jumbo pretzel as an appetizer and the pimento cheese dipping sauce for the pretzel was to die for. The Barada was great but would definitely be just a little better if they added prosciutto. We had the Tito's pizza and it was as expected. Their pizzas are the perfect size to split between two people. I recommend one pizza if you're getting appetizers and maybe a dessert but if you're just getting pizza for two I would recommend two pizzas. The staff was super friendly and constantly refilling your water which I appreciate. I also loved that you could get a beer flight with great local breweries in house. I honestly wouldn't recommend the cinnamon bun dessert. The taste was only like a six out of 10 and I felt like they were just using pizza Del to create the dish. You can tell it was only on the menu because the main ingredient was in-house. Also some of the cinnamon buns were a little bit burnt. I'm cool with a little bit of black on my pizza but it's different when it's on a dessert. The flavors just don't overlap well. I also thought the icing was a bit too cream cheese-based and needed to be sweeter in order to be a dessert. Overall, super satisfied and would definitely go back again. read more

Our dinner at Towne Parlor Pizza was the shock of the year. We were walking around Bedford St trying to find an open kitchen at 930 on a Monday. We struck out left and right. Every spot said the kitchen was closed. At about 940 we walked into Towne and asked the bartender. She told us the kitchen closed at 930, but she asked the manager and they snuck us in. We didn't expect much; we would have been happy to get anything. My daughter ordered the meatball pizza and I ordered the chicken sandwich. Both were just shockingly good. The pizza crust was thin in the middle but thick on the edges, with just the perfect amount of crunch. The tomato sauce seemed home made, and with a wonderful sweetness. The real shock was the chicken sandwich. I expected a dry tasteless breast on a torpedo roll but instead we got shredded chicken w broccoli rabe and provolone on focaccia. The caramelized onions gave it a sweetness, and I couldn't come close to finishing it. Between the staff and the food, I have a new favorite place on Bedford St. read more

Pizza is way over priced considering what you get - cold/burnt/bland - you're better off going literally anywhere else. The service is despicable and the wait staff is either vastly understaffed or no one gives because it's a minimum 20min wait for them to do anything - greet/order/check - you name it. Not to mention tables are just left a mess and uncleaned. Maybe you're thinking about take out? Think again. They will say your food is ready but you will be waiting 25mins there only to be handed a burnt, bland, cold, overpriced slab of "pizza". If you want fancy pizza - go to Coalhouse, if you want easy pizza and more menu items - go to Remo's. read more
